This video is not denying the SOCIAL benefit skin, hair and eye colour have, but that is a complex topic for another video.
The point of this video is that most people have no idea what they’re looking at, often confusing sclera for iris colour.

Blue eyes look intimidating to me bc I know they're preferred in the west and I feel as though that person who is usually white will focus on our differences more than what connects us as people. the fact is blue eyes are seen as better aesthetically just like most rare things are seen as better i.e. "exotic".
blue eyes will always be 'better' because less people have them just like someone owning a bugatti vs a ford, they both drive, but since less people own bugattis they are seen as better even though they are both cars and both drivable.

I think a reason why people think that lighter eyes are more attractive is because it photographs better. I think photography as a medium makes brown eyes lose it's depth/dimension and shine. So if these studies are conducted with photos, there might be a bias already.

I live in Sweden and I have seen the same thing but maybe not to quite the same extent as him. I have dark brown eyes and they are always what people compliment first about my appearance. Not the color itself but just the overall appearance. I've worn green contacts as well and did not notice an increase or decrease in compliments. But people did comment about the green color more. In my experience I tend to notice that more-so than eye colour, often times people comment on contrast. Ie, I have dark hair and very light eyes with very white sclera. When people comment, they often say something along the lines of “your eyes are so _bright!_ “ or, “your eyes stand out so much!” I don’t necessarily think it’s the colour they’re noticing as much as how it contrasts with my other features. I also have a very dark blue limbal ring around my iris that sharpens the line between them and the sclera even further, which factors in. When I was younger I dyed my hair blonde and I didn’t notice as many comments about my eyes at that point because I lowered the contrast between my features.
On a small scale, this may be why many people often call people of more melanated ethnic backgrounds “so exotic” when they have light eyes. I have Indian and some Middle Eastern far back in my heritage, but my admixture is mostly European. Most people correctly assume I’m mostly Eastern European or Irish, yet I’ve still been called “exotic” when I let my hair be dark, and exponentially more when I have a tan. I really wonder if this is much to do with contrast, and would love a video on that principle as well.

" if they were dark-skinned they'd be ugly, it's lucky that they're light skinned."
    - that in itself is a weird comment, but many people, men and women, believe it to be so and are taking creams and medicine to lighten their skin for a chace to be beautiful. Just perfect, womanly, with big curly hair, long almond brown eyes, perfect hourglass shape, beautiful full mouth, perfect toffee skin, tiny waist you could wrap your hands around, full breasts, full behind, beautiful legs, not tall, not short. I called her Eve as she genuinely looked like everyone’s definition of beauty, like a blend of Marilyn Monroe and Liz Taylor into one perfect little human. A lot of people thought I was crazy for saying it because I have blue eyes and because I Nordic that apparently our beauty trumps overall human beauty. Having rare features is not beauty. When I’d ask why the woman I mentioned is not beautiful, the argument was always that she didn’t have light eyes and it made me throw up a little. To me a beautiful woman is a beautiful woman point blank, coloring barring. For example, i have sometimes received complements about having blue eyes not because of having blue eyes is deemed as more beautiful necessarily, but from the contrast to my black hair and dark eye lashes and eyebrows. Another example is some people prefer having a tan because it gives them a bit of colour and therefore also increases the vibrancy of the face. Make up and different colour eyeshadows can do this too.

I would say that blue and green eye colors are considered beneficial to the facial beauty if there’s a contrast to the skin color and to the facial features. For example, if we take identical twins with the darker skin tone and make one of them have blue or green eyes that person will be viewed and considered as more attractive even in European countries. In this situation what defines beauty is the contrast. I have seen people who were not even pretty in the face but had beautiful eye colors and I started to view them as attractive.

light color vs dark color have their strengths. light color the iris looks smaller so more "piercing / agressive look" vs dark colors that the iris "looks" larger. the size of the color part influences a lot. so someone with a lot of white (sanpaku) and with light color looks more "aggressive" because the white looks larger, eyes smaller from a distance.
I have seen some east asian beauty trends to uses color and ring lenses to make it larger, and younger looking. makes a huge difference for someone with smaller eyes.
the aesthetic advantage of light color eyes is to and greater difference in hue from skin and hair color and more values information. darker eyes, look more "kinder" due low contrast with the iris and the reflection appears better , more contrast, so looking shinier.
but a person with darker hair and skin with light color eyes and a person with light color skin and hair with dark eyes have the biggest contrast so making their eyes more catching for eye contect.
