  • In this video I do a comparison between the previous Le Creuset Classic line of Dutch Ovens and the new Signature line. Are the new changes and benefits of the new Signature Line worth the upgrade?

The Classic Dutch Oven are still sold at the Le Creuset outlets here in the USA!!! Also they sale the stainless steel knobs if you don't want the phenolic black knobs!!! I'm ashamed to say that I have 18 Signature Le Creuset pieces.

I just recently bought my first Le Creuset. It was the 3.5 qt in the signature line. One of the main reasons I bought it was that I can use it in a high heat oven. So if it’s a first time purchase definitely go after the signature Le Creuset.

The only reason to buy the Signature over the Classic for high heat is the knob. You can order a SS knob for under $30 US.

Congratulations, I hope you like your new Dutch oven! I just got the signature Dutch oven and a stockpot. I was debating on getting a braiser but I really will not be using it a lot. I can use the DO to perform the same task (braising meat, etc). I think I may get another essential oven/ sauteuse…
How long have you had the blue classic Dutch oven? It looks like brand new!!!
I almost thought of buying Staub Dutch oven or pot but I think I am sold out to Le Creuset products!!!! I m in the U.S and I was wondering if Staub is also a popular brand in Europe like Le Creuset?

Thanks! The blue DO is 5 years old. It still looks great. Le Creuset seems to be slightly higher regarded than Staub, but only slightly. I prefer the light interior on the Le Creuset.

Informative video. I'm tempted to purchase the Signature Line DO but I will wait. I purchased a Classic DO and bc I mishandled it, it now has a tiny fleck of enamel chipped off the bottom. Is it still safe to use?

2022-02-02 Do you know where they get all the iron from to make the Le Creuset pans?

Great question! I cannot purchase from a certain country.

    No. Not worth it

Absolutely not worth the upgrade. You can cook anything in a $40 pot that you can cook in $300 pot. Cheers 🍻

If you're that "type of guy"?!! Come on, dude... If you're that type of PERSON. Women buy more of these than men do, for sure. My wife just bought one.
