I like seeing Gunners confidence soar! When you rolled the second drive around he knew exactly what was right. "Stop,....nope a little more, STOP!!" That was the best,....made me smile like the butchers dog!!
Gunner was so proud of what he helped with he had to show his buddy.
And he listened to his DP Dad
Dad, you made me proud. Our kids NEVER get enough of implied praise and acceptance from their dads like the kind you showered on G. and M. out in the shop. You demonstrated that you trusted them and needed their assistance in a relatively dangerous area and I can guarantee you those minutes you worked with them are more precious and memorable than a thousand throw away "Good job" comments.
Tragically losing your dad early in your life must make the times he made you a true partner and valued helper so memorable now. It is funny how we as dads allow our jobs and duties to block out how important including our "littles" until they are old enough (in our eyes) to be included when by that time, they have developed their own interests.
Thanks buddy
Father and son working so cute, Company's new name Dirt perfect & Son 💯 😎 👌
I still cherish and remember the days that I was small like Gunner and helped my dad work on various heave equipment, I am now 75. Thanks you Dad Perfict! God bless
Ur a great dad u can tell he loves spending time with his dad
thanks
I know in the US Military when a tank sprocket is replaced. They always use new bolts. Only when they change it in the field do they use the old bolts. Then when it gets to a service center. They replace the bolts. God bless
It never hurts to wash out the radiator. I know people who have blown up engines because they never blew out or washed out their radiator. Great work Mike God bless
Fixin a flat tire on that dozer is a lot of work, thank goodness the youngins were there to help too!
Love watching the kids help. Thanks for another great video
Thanks buddy
You got a fine Son, He listens very good to instructions and does just as you say, he is going to be a very good Mechanic, just hope he will be a good Carpenter to.
I see that working with Kleman and MBTS all these years has prepared you for shop time with the kids. 🤣
Lol
That was great to see your children giving you a little helping hand. Family that is what it,s all about
Always good to have some help. My son and I are teaching my 3 1/2 year old grandson to work on cars. It's kind of fun watching him, he will say I am such a big helper.
When removing an oil filter that will overflow, pull a single use plastic shopping bag up over the filter. Break the filter loose just a tad. Pull the bag up to the top and finish removing the filter. The bag will usually catch the mess. Plus, you already have the filter contained so it does not spill elsewhere as you set it aside.
Good job teaching Gunner to recognize when things are in alignment. A first step for developing that eye for getting on grade.
My Dad was a wrencher when I was young,,, taught me a LOT!!! (Now--- he doesn't do it anymore,,, but I'm still wrenching away!!!) Love to see the youngsters getting involved!!!
DP I love it when you have your kids working in the shop with you. It reminds me of all the times I helped my dad.
Bless you for teaching that little boy
Your doing a heck of a job DP! It's good to see other people getting their kids out in the shop and on job sites etc nosing around growing an interest for the industry. Btw you're not the only who gets wore out with the iPads!
thanks
i think all 3 of you kids did a great job together. very enjoyable yo watch. thanks for the family vid. cheers lads.
I loved your back up team. They were so much help and eager to do so. Children love it when we ask them to.help us. You showed a lot of patients and good encouragement.
You get an A+ for a dad.
I'm really glad you show all the behind the scene effort it takes to run a successful dirt business. I don't think people understand the extra effort it takes to maintain the equipment you own. Great work! Its also good to see the next generation getting an early start in the business =)
Artisan what is so good about the next generation as you say is this there keen as to be with there Dad no matter what he is doing now that's the good part also the way he includes them in the job he is doing guiding so track is in right as with the sprocket and aligning the bolt hole just so good to see that Cheers
I see you're future maintenance and repair guy hehehe Gunner is a fine young man...he loves working with Dad.
That was so great with your kids and very cute... good to see them learning with their daddy.
It's great having your Son helping you
What a couple of wonderful kid's ..you have a beautiful family sir. God bless
Thanks
Love love love it. My kids are getting older not so interested in working with dad. Miss those days. But find memories. Working with my dad grandpa. Uncles. Good times.
Thats a good dad right there getting the kids involved is awesome and it looks like he was having fun
Thanks
I really enjoy watching and it’s great to see dad working with his children. Thanks to Captain Kleeman for mentioning you. I love to watch you and MBTS fabricating and working on your equipment
Thanks welcome to the channel
Jerry going love that tractor even more after a complete service. DP u going have to work overtime to keep up with him 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome Mike very nice to see the kids helping you
thanks
It's really good you teaching your young ones how to be independent by just knowing how to do stuff...... very little of that going around these days...I am in the UK and I know several grown men that can't even change a Fuse. Refreshing to see my friend. Oh and thanks for the ever entertaining videos.
Seeing your children in the shop reminds me of how I learned most of the mechanical skills I have now, from my Dad. good to see.
This kind of work fascinates me. I can sit and watch it for hours! Lol
If you try something new, you might fail. If you never try something new, you will never succeed.
Great lesson for the younger generation.
Thanks for sharing.
Good to see the kids learning how life really is . Money don't grow on trees . Hard work is the key , nothing as easy as it looks .... repetition .
It makes the job more fun when you have your helpers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OJT for the little guys, great way to learn. Nice to see some repair action that didn’t set you back too much. Good job Gunner and Massey🤗👍🇺🇸
You are a great Dad. If more Dads took the time to teach their Kids even if the job takes longer the World would be a much better place.
thanks buddy
Great video!!! Good seeing you and the kids hanging out with each other!!! Happy Father's Day to you ✌️👏
thanks!
have u ever thought of welding the sprockets together? we used to weld all the segments together back when i ran dozer at the coal company, only way we kept them tight-i mean the bolts. once we had them welded the bolts seemed to never get loose then-even in bad rock. when i went back to running dozer, and was in the high tracks(10's and d-11's) they never came loose on the high tracks-
i was laughing when both boys was telling where to stop the final drive at-now that was funny-but it seemed they was good help for ya. thanks for the video-DP
Way to go dad! Give those young ones some confidence so they can do just about anything. The truck is got some shine on it. Taking shape. All you have to do now is teach the dog how to sweep up the mess, lol.
Awe, now Mike don’t beat up on the child about sewing...
She did come out to the shop, and assist, and someday she will be able to that job when you are too old and weak...
Great rain day work for you and the kids.
Memories man, building memories...
Great video.
Thank you sir...
I have 2 nephews that love helping me in the shop working on farm equipment. That's just awesome to watch you teach your kids everything.
That’s great that you’re son is interested in helping work on the equipment keep teaching him
thanks
A crilliant impressive video. You have a perfect assistant, who knows about safety AND clear hand signals.
I am a big fan of Cat D 4 I guess probably because its first dozer I learned how to run. Good thing to teach our kids how to do things mechanically awesome your teaching your son. Keep up the excellent work and thanks for the great vidja.
thanks!
You and your son make a great team. The method that you are using to teach him is giving him confidence that instills benefits to him for years to come. Three Cheers to you
Thanks
Love the videos working with the kids
3 of my own and they always fight over who gets to help work next!
Thanks Jacob
I love it ,Mike, that you our showing your children how to work.like their Daddy does. Reminds me of my husband and our children when they we're young, and their Daddy , before he passed away. We had three our son ,and our two girls, He took each one of them to work every Saturday morning, to send his crew out, then he took them to breakfast. To this day those times with him, our for most in their minds. The world needs more Daddy, like theose of you .Sending my love and God's blessings to your all , stay safe .Wanda In N E Ok
I think Macy and Gunner need a raise. Lol.
Great to see kids working alongside their dad. Brings back fond memories of my son helping me do jobs when he was little, time sure goes by fast he turned 35 this year. Well done DP, teach them as much as you can while they’re young it pays big dividends later on in their lives.😀😀👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
thanks
Some of the best times are having the kiddos helping you out Mike.
Gotta teach safety at an early age. Eye and hearing protection should be something every kid learns early.
Gloves too.
Whats this safety you speak of
Oh god the safety susans.
I guess they should have been wearing vests and hard hats too.
He was wearing eye protection and gloves when needed.
He made sure Gunner stayed to the side when he was rotating the track.
Not being able to hear because of plugs can be very unsafe.
@@jcgoogle1808 I wear hearing protection all the time and can hear just fine. Ear plugs and or headphones. Yes I might miss a mouse running by but I can hear people talking just fine and any equipment near by.
@@aldimore
If you wear ear protection and can hear over the sound of a running engine, they're not providing protection, unless they're the sound canceling headphones used at gun ranges.
But there was no reason to wear ear protection in his garage. There were plenty of reasons not to.
Hey DP my favorite part was watching your helpers - brought back some memories!!!! Thanks John
Thanks John
What valuable experience and confidence building time spent with your children!! Awesome !
Wonderful to see you and Gunner working together; You are equipping him for the future with a work ethic that he will never get from anyne else. Well done daddy!
thank you
Great seeing the children involved. Good video.
thanks
Dear Sir, did we hear you right, “the one I got stuck “? That poor dozer needed a spa day after you tried to drown it in that pond. Then you talked about getting rid of it right in front of “it”. It was great to see your children, learning about the glory side of mud moving, repairing heavy equipment.
That IS pretty heartless and cruel, isn't it.
Good work Mike. Great job nurturing your son to be a great helper. He’ll be driving the dozer on jobs before you know it!
Makes good video teaching gunner and macy in the shop and it good for them my dad took on the job when I was 5 years old remodeling his apartment building after a fire and I worked for him and loved it
So great seeing Gunner helping his Dad. He’s so cute! You can tell he really enjoys it too! Well done Mr Dirt Perfect! Great video.
Thank you
Hi folks iv just come on your site I like what you do iv just retired at 73 so I did lots of work on my d18 international thanks for video phill from England

thanks
Making memories working with dad
i like how hes taking the time to teach gunter
I loved watching this video because it reminded me of years gone bye when my kids and I were doing things around the house or working on the cars. Today, my daughter who is soon to be 46, will say something about some maintenance item on her car, and I realize she was paying close attention all those years ago. So, hats off to you for involving the kids. Love it.
thanks!
Impressive helpers Mike!
Nice to see you working with your son And teaching him work habits
Its nice you are teaching your children.
Good morning DP and all your young helpers. Sorry about that break down. Must be all that stucking you been having 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks buddy
@@DirtPerfect Welcome DP. I really like when kinds show interest in what dad's do
I love seeing children being taught. Not enough of that going on any more.
Nothing better for kids to learn about work and enjoying the work.
Great kids.
Definitely agree
Adorable kids.
Is awesome that your kids help you in the shop. I remember my father letting me go with him on the weekends when I was old enough to help him. He was a generator tech for a caterpillar dealer for 40+ years
I don’t have heavy equipment but you sure teach me a lot about how to work on it. You make it look easy. Thanks!
Thanks bob
Mike it looked like Gunner was getting the hang of helping his dad! A proud dad is loving it! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Yes he is
Bolt removal with essance of lavander, lol. Nice job! Those helpers are what life's about.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and videos. Great to see the kids helping in the shop. From watching your videos I’m not sure you can afford to move the d4g down the road unless that is to Jerry’s house. He might go on strike if you send it to a strangers house. That’s some nice water pressure you have there. Stay safe, wishing you and your family the best.
I'm loving this vid reminds me of my dad & me working together
I see you finally got some good help that's what rainy days are for maintenance
Saw you use the candle trick and to my surprise just ran across Squatch 253 using it on a 1st generation D2 he has been rebuilding. and this is the first time I've heard of it 69 yrs. of life. Who says an old dog can't learn new/old tricks!!
He a good helper love watching you
thanks
I really like seeing the behind the scenes type of stuff. Don't get me wrong, the dirt work is cool. It's a nice change of pace to see what it takes to keep the equipment up and running...the part of the business that isn't so glamorous.
Thanks Erik
Great video DP. Great to see the kids helping u out.
Thanks 👍
The lock tite is easy to break loose with a little heat. The additional advantage it gives is it keeps any moisture from migrating in between the threads so there is no rust.
Two beautiful children!
Thank you!
Glad you let the kids learn.I know an 18 year old that didn't even know the difference between a flat and phillips screwdriver
Little helpers are great! Best way to learn!
Good job teaching the kids and service Job.
I love how you are raising your children. I really wish I was closer to you to help you. Take your mig welder and weld a nub on those bolts, if you have to shove a piece of copper tubing down the hole to protect the threads. The bolt heats up and shrinks when it cools, they come rite out with pliers or you can weld a nut on them once you build them up. Good on ya for the candle trick, it also works.
Thanks appreciate that
Maintenance days are fun and necessary! Good job!
Best helpers ever ! Will work for ice cream ! 🤣👍👍❤️🦅🇺🇲🙏
I liked to weld the segments together at the ends so each segment is prevented from turning by all of the bolts on all of the segments.
At work we always welded them on the D6 wide tracks it's the only way we could keep it tight!
There is the next DP got to be so proud of him Stay Safe...
DPJR or DP mk2 ;) DP mk II ??? eh...DP 2.0 ??
DP Gunner going be a neat helper
I use an old license plate as a funnel for hubs on a truck and final drives, it works like a dream
One of the tricks that I've seen on multiple channels for getting broken screws out is to weld a nut or some other metal stub that you can use to get some leverage on the bolt.
You but would not work here
Mike you are a lucky man to have all the help you get to do what you do
Thanks for another awesome video
Thanks
Love seeing the race on tv in the shop!
I like the dirt videos but, being in the shop is always a good time. Great video Michael
Thanks Tom
