  • Hey everyone! Thanks for tuning in for another video. Daiwa claimed that the Luvias Airity is their lightest REEL made to date. Check out my first impressions!

Ordered the 23 vanquish in the 2500SHG have to actually weigh it compared to the new Airity. Honestly ordered the new vanquish because I have a couple 19 versions and they are still as smooth and quite after many river and creek fishing adventures dunks and abuse’s getting to and threw brush as when i bought them. Wish Daiwa would publish spool diameter with different models! Thanks for the review!

Nice! The 23 Vanquish is on my list to get next - alongside the 22 Steez and 22 Stella.
Agreed on spool diameter - not too much info but I like how Daiwa spinning reel spools have a bigger capacity than shimano spools.

surprised you didn't get the airity 23 instead. regardless this reel looks great. you mention the steez being smoother and i do own the steez type ii which is my preferred spinning reel. i have yet to handle the recent exist, but i'm really eyeing and likely committed to getting the airity 23 next.

I stand corrected, I meant to say 22 exist, in the video not the steez. 😅

What do you like to throw on each reel? Do you notice a big difference in terms of casting ability?

Isn’t the steez a bait casting reel?

I truly love Daiwa reels..! But spinning reels don't have a place in my life.. at all…!
Here is why, ... It doesn't matter how much you spend on spinning reels… you will always have line twist… it's indicative to spinners.. also there are no amount of swivels to alleviate this problem ⚠️
Conventional reels reign supreme in my book… because they're half the size of spinners and hold way more line and ultimately cast way farther than any spinner.… lastly, .. Most individuals choose spinners is because they're not able or can't be bothered with learning the conventional casting method… this is called “an uneducated thumb”… and there are a lot of you guys out there…
There are guys that think if you use a spinner.… you will never get backlashes… total bullshit…! I've seen so many near-catastrophic disasters of every kind from spinners… these same people think you can't cast lightweight lures with a conventional baitcaster…thats also bullshit... That's why we have bait finesse reels for those ultra light lures and they cast a long way… the cost of premium spinners are out of control…! Example… Shinano Stella... $1,000 are you fucking kidding me…?
For a $1,000 I can buy a 130 class big game reel for Marlin or giant bluefin tuna… you can't pull that off with any spinner that I know of….
