Fantastic shot of 60532 with GWR MK3 at kiddminster Station 😊
like seeing the mk3s in use shame they got replaced tbh, the CAF mk5s have had terrible reviews not including the dvt mk5 TPE sets being withdrawn cos of defect, wish we had more sleeper trains and still using mk3s like the GWR riviera train as well as more mk3 loco hauled trains, i grew up travelling by HSTs mainly to and from swansea
What is that regular exhaust steam sound BP makes even when stationary?
I was going to say that’s just the blower, but no that is really weird
air pump for the brakes
How come they do the test runs with the mk3’s instead of a heritage set?
Is it to do with air brakes or weight or something?
I think testing the airbrakes for the mainline I reckon. You can tell with the exhaust of the pump continuously keeping the air level up.
Wish I’d popped down now! How do you find out the running times for it?
There are working timetables on the SVR website
Could the coaches be LSL owned so they don’t need to hire SVR stock, which will have to be paid for?
It is LSL stock that is kept at the SVR. But also because it's airbraked and the SVR.only has vacuum braked stock so can't test the braking system on Blue Peter.
Great video - Like me !!!
wonder where BP will do her high speed test runs,,
Probably on the standard LSL test route via Chester, Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton. The landslip near Wellington should be sorted by the time she returns to Crewe.
