Refreshing. I have just enjoyed you calm, structured review. It is so much better then the usual moto reviews based on the same mold. You have all the right points covered that an average rider would be interested about this bike (and others you reviewed). Keep it up you have my vote. Tschuss

I bought this machine after watching your review. I have the exact same one and personally I LOVE the black/white paint scheme... Not like... LOVE so I suppose to each his own. Yes, the rear brake should have been dual piston, but after putting over 2000 miles on mine in just over 2 months I can attest to the fact that once you get used to it, it works VERY well... The front work great.. Overall, I love the bike.. Been riding for 25+ years, been to the Isle of Man, owned all kinda bikes over the years including big sport touring bikes and small sport bikes... and I can highly recommend this bike from Kawasaki.
Also... You should do a gear review or let us know what jacket/pants you wear and helmet you recommend/wear.... Gloves and boots too... you know we love our gear.
    Thanks!

May I enquire what you came from? I test rode the green Versys and thought it looked awful, especially when I was comparing it to the green Z1000SX, but in black/white I think it transforms the look and right now is the most likely bike to be in my garage by xmas....

I really like this Versys. In fact, it's the first one imho to be able to outrun the V-Strom.
But I don't think that it is a "cheap" bike compared to the competition. 19k€ are no bargain at all. She might be worth the money, but I believe that at least the stock versions of the SD GT and the S1000 XR are in the same price range.
Anyways, the bike is maybe the best japanese touring bike in the market right now.
But it sadly lacks the shaftdrive, which, I think, is essential to a touring bike.
The only other weakness might be the choice of colours. It's almost embarrassing that Kawasaki seems unable to deliver some nice colours for a gorgeous bike like this.
    Nice video btw👍👍👍

This will probably beat the VStrom, yes, but not the 1200 Boxer and most defiantly not the 1250 Boxer. There is just way too much torque in the big Boxers. But you must compare a 2019 Versys to a 2019 1250GS (not the older 1200GS) and that is where the 1250GS will just walk away from this, no problem. Because it has about 50% more torque and is lighter.

Not sure this one is worth all the extra dough over Tracer 900 GT. Electronically adjustable suspension is the only obvious advantage but it's not worth all that extra cash. All gimmicky staff on the dash are nice but the novelty of those things quickly wear out and you will be left wondering: is this really worth all that cash? Especially when you compare against that triple CP3 engine on the tracer that has split personalities like Jackyl and Hyde. When I rode that machine I was laughing so much I almost fell off the bike. But hey, each to their own.

Thanks Nicke D, well, those are two different approaches to the bike segment, economy and the other luxury. So it really depends on how much money you have to spend and how you want to feel? British sophistication or Japanese frugalness. I'm not sure which I'd pick...hmm.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  Před 4 lety +1

Sporty riding in the ADV heavyweight segment. Hmm...well, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure will win there, hands down, none of the others come close to matching it's performance. It's the lightest and most power and the WP suspension with Bosch electronics is hard to beat but BMW 1250GS will match the KTM with there second gen ESA suspention...so wait for KTM's second gen...hehe.
But between the two you picked, I'd take the Tiger, it's just British luxury at it's finest and will probably pull away from the Versys in acceleration. Cornering...that's probably the same but where the Tiger will do better is the shaft drive, no maintenance. Of the 5 heavyweight adv bikes, the Versys felt the most under-powered, and it is on paper too. Well the Africa Twin was almost as slow as the Versys.
Sorry to ramble on....I'll stop now :)

I found it easier to handle compared to my current machine, easier to manouver, much easier to put on central stand, engine very smooth, and overall very comfy, especially for the pillion. All those electronic extras but no electric screen. Even a 15 year old Honda Pan European has that. More power you say? The only reason I'm looking at this review is because I want a decent GT for some old fart touring. It goes fast enough for me.

With that paint you can't repair your bike by cheap way like any other. You will be forced to buy an original fairing items! Otherwise some bad thoughts will be haunt you every night :)

Great review. Thank you. Ugly bike I believe. I prefer Suzuki vstrom 1050xt or Kawasaki 1000sx.

Hi Stuart, you can turn them off/on and you can adjust the size of the fonts too. Just go into setting of the subtitles and then options.
      Ride safe,

Comparing with your other videos you don't seem to be very enthusiastic when talking about this bike. And I understand you. I must say that I appreciate your mature considerations referring to each machine.

Wow, only my wife makes comments like that to me! You are a good judge of character. After she watches a review she says stuff like "you really didn't enjoy riding that bike"...etc. She reads me like a book.
Don't get me wrong, the new SE is a good bike, it just didn't hit my "happy" button. It did everything and did it very well, but other bikes do the same and do it a little bit better, that's all.
      Take care Fernando, Scott

@@NothingToProve That's exactly what i think about this bike. I was right about the fun factor ( I'm not psychologist, but i learned from my wife) 😂😁

Yes i agree, and thats great part of reviews like this, but when you take into consideration cost, this bike is very interesting,BMW ,KTM and Triumph are ridiculously expensive in Croatia and cost of service and parts too, i am previous owner of s1000xr and now 1200gs i am leaning towards this kawa or tracer 900gt

It's not a real long distance motorcycle.... It's just a tall and inconfortable piece of junk.Regret because I buy this shit....
