the thing that gets me is where is the struggle? one thing I know for sure is that the elderly are stubborn and will not do anything that they don't want to. I had to tell one of my cousins years ago, when siblings fight stay out of it. My Mother and Aunt had a falling out once, my mother called me & my aunt called him. Once I got into town my cousin was ready to fight. I told him "Stay out of Sister's disagreements because they'll be mad today and friends tomorrow. " My cousin calmed down and looked at me like he was more relived he now had an excuse to tell my Aunt whenever any of them disagreed with each other and called any of us.

In the scene Al and Earn sit down at the same time, use similar body language, and say somewhat of the same phrases. Showing how many times they’ve been through this with their family. Even saying “i don’t want to end up like them…. always arguing”
