The world has lost a true treasure and a great man with his passing. I think I have every movie that he was in and he is what made those movies great. He was truly one of the best "actors" and genuine human beings to ever walk this earth, in my humble opinion. May he rest in power and peace. Condolences to his family, loved ones and friends.
Massive loss for Australian television and cinema. Grew up watching David in so many great tv shows and films, he was truly iconic and legendary.

Bula Vinaka brother's an sister's..
Such a beautiful actor, lost a legend.
I love him. Our link to this country. Thanks David, you show us country.
This is very very sad.
This man was a truly wonderful actor.
We have lost somthing great.
he was one of the greats to really show the beauty of the Yolngu people and give positive representation of Aboriginal people. Couldn't imagine how it felt to be an elder or a young boy in particular when his movies were first released to see someone like them on screen, not being portrayed negatively, being received well, being one of the highlights of every film. he will be missed dearly. (I know he's not the first actor but he's the most known)
With your people now David..
Yes We know Him Back In ARNHEM LAND
He's always home....☝🙏🙏❤🖤💛
An Aussie icon God bless him, RIP David.
We Appreciate His Teaching Love Our Legend RIP LOVE FROM HIS PEOPLE BACK IN ARNHEM LAND ❤️💛🖤 TOP END
RIP Old Man
I loved David Gupalil from his boyhood in Walkabout with the wonderful Jennie Aguilar to his last film, Charlie's Country (which I have yet to see with subtitles into english.) Storm Boy was his
favorite and he shines in that. I saw Rabbit Proof fence 20 years ago and the Right Stuff only because of his presence in that. Watched the Tracker & never failed to recognize that this was a
gifted man in so many ways. I wish native Australians had good health care. He was too young to have died in this way, but Native people are pretty much ignored unless they break the law.

I loved this man.
There are certain actors that are always great in every movie. Whenever I hear of one of their movies, I want to watch it. David Gulpilil is one of a few. Sidney Poitier also. (Nothing to do with their "race")...just terrific actors and interesting people. William Holden, and some others, but Gulpilil was mesmerising.
