San Fernando, officially City of San Fernando and often referred to as San Fernando City, is a third-class component city and capital of the province of La Union in the Philippines. Founded 1850,,,Cityhood 1998.The city is bounded by San Juan to the north, Bauang to the south, Bagulin and Naguilian to the east, and the South China Sea to the west. It has a land area of 10,272 hectares (25,380 acres).San Fernando is the financial, industrial and political center of the province, as well as the center of the official Ilocos Region, or Region I in the regions of the Philippines. Me with my bro and my youngest son went to this beautiful place nun nakaraan lng huebes santo around 9pm at dumating kame ng 12:30am friday. I really love this place because the people are polite at mga driver meron sila deciplina. Napakasariwa po ang mga gulay, seafoods etc. Sayang lang d kame nakapunta sa mga beaches dhil walang available na service. Anyway, saturday afternoon ay bumalik na kame sa maynila para iwas trapik. It was a short stay but it worth the trip.

San Fernando, La Union reminds me ng Ventrua, Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, California, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre & my nuhuli Tatars birthplace ng Pittston, Pennsylvania lahat combined. My Batang babae kaibigan was ipinanganak nasa San Fernando, La Union.

The city is indeed very clean. No flies even in wet market. It has a beautiful botanical garden. Long beaches. Relatively peaceful. NO pickpocket. You can leave your car unlocked, no one will open it. You leave your purchased goods in a corner no one will take it. No mendicants. The locals are foreigner friendly. It is usual to see foreigners on bikes or jogging along beaches and highways. BUT the traffic policemen are sooo diligent in apprehending violators hahahaha fine is 5h and up.
