I ALMOST got into a HORNET'S NEST when I PRUNED a long Beech hedge

- Pruning a long hedge of Beech, I was so close to the Wasp Nest several times, but I noticed it only the third time and only by a miracle I was not stung by Wasps!

You are very fortunate that the pruning work
didn’t disturb the hornets nest. I unfortunately
cut a similar black faced hornets nest in half
while pruning many years ago I got stung
multiple times, and had to be rushed to a
local emergency room for treatment . The stings
were incredibly painful, and took a couple of days for swelling to go down. After that carried aerosol
wasp bomb with me, and checked all hedges
thereafter before pruning for potential hornet
nests. Wasp bomb has a freezing agent, and
paralyzes wasps on contact and kills quickly.
Your pruning techniques on this property are as always , outstanding! The shaping and contouring
you incorporate into your technique is amazing.
Your cleanup techniques are equally as
meticulous, and you leave the properties
immaculate, as should be the case. I am one of the
few on Long Island who also cleans up as
diligently as you do, since that’s how I was
taught to do it. My competitors locally
always leave a mess after pruning and cleaning
up the trimmings, this with 4 and 5 man crews.
I could never leave a property in such a state.,
In any event, uou are always a treat to watch!

Those wasps could have been deadly. Glad you saw them before you damaged their hive. With all the hedges in your town I don’t think you’ll ever run out of clients. You do a wonder job pruning them.

Was stung alot back in the day. You got lucky this time, but that's part of working in the outdoors. You did a great job on the hedge, lots of clipping. Again, "Outstanding Work" Both infront and behind the camera. 🌿👍👍

Ich bin überrascht, dass ich das Nest zum ersten Mal nicht berührt habe, obwohl ich gesehen habe, dass es viele Wespen gab, die flogen, wenn ich das Wespennest berührte, wäre es wahrscheinlich ein lustiges Video geworden😁 .

Yes, we have almost everywhere so clean, because the residents try to keep the neighborhood area clean. The owner has already removed the wasps nest!👍

wieder sehr gut geworden , in den 90ziger jahren , hatte ichöfters probleme mit wespen , ein paarmal haben die mich erwischt , dann habe ich mir einen imkerhut angeschafft , war nicht so einfach wie heute sowas zu bekommen , es gab noch kein ebay , mit hornissen , hatte ich früher oft zu hause zu tun , ihnen ein schönes wochenende
Ja, Wespen in dieser Arbeit sind ein häufiges Problem, ich hatte vor 5 Jahren einen Fall, wir haben die Klinik radikal abgeschnitten und gereinigt, und es gab ein Wespennest im Boden, also wurde ich mehr als 25 Mal gestochen, dann erfuhr ich, dass ich keine Allergie gegen sie hatte. aber es war nicht sehr angenehm.

do people just like boxed hedges or have you done some sculptured ones?? or is it just easier to cut straight lines?? looks very good , your work. I find it comforting, don't know why but it relaxes me. always a good job.

Gracias, si las tenemos bajo protección, así que solo le advertí al dueño de la casa que tuviera más cuidado, una vez me picaron 25 veces las avispas cuando accidentalmente corté los arbustos donde estaba su nido, ahora estoy un poco más tranquila cuando ellos están alrededor😅💚

Question, why are there so many brown patches in the hedge? Is it dead in there? So happy you didn't get bitten by the wasps.
Brown places when pruning the hedge due to the fact that this part was not cut for more than one year, and the branches grew just in length, there was no dense foliage, but it will all be green now, the Beech is very well overgrown. I am also very glad that I was not touched by Wasps, Thank you.
At 26:38 are they encouraging the hedge to grow through the fencing? Wonderful job. You must have arms of steel those tools have some heft to them

Is the Hedge in Germany used as a fence for most of the property instead of a wooden fence which is commonly used here in Australia 🇦🇺 or some other countries too because all I can see is you trimming all these hedges..mind you I have never been there ...just curious...
