    Something SUPER IMPORTANT to note, getting your combat skill to 99 is almost more important than an upgrade of gear.
    Base accuracy(wearing no gear) at level:
    lvl 70 = 594 (about the accuracy of splitbark/batwing)
    lvl 80 = 769 (about the accuracy of mystic wand)
    lvl 90 = 983 (gravite wand)
    lvl 99 = 1212.2392 (inbetweens treachery and grifolic)
    ** Notice how level 90 to 99 gives 19% more base accuracy -- that's HUGE!!
    So getting magic to level 99 gives you the base accuracy of a tier 65 weapon without having any weapons or gear on.
    Thats HUGE. It simply gets added to the accuracy of whatever weapon you end up wearing.
    Even more huge is if you use every single boost available to you at max magic, boosting your mage to
    level 142 from 99 your base accuracy is 2898.6304 without ANY gear on. Thats higher than any weapons accuracy in the game.
    This means with a Wand of Praesul, supreme overload, and maniacal aura without any armor your accuracy would be 5,475.6304.
    this gives you 142.77% chance to hit arch glacor in hard mode.
    With auras, level 99, and supreme overloads you can use as low as a gravite wand and still hit arch glacor 101% of the time without any armor on.
    Now what if you were level 90 magic with the same setup? You're only going to hit arch glacor 87.20% of the time.
    The point is, if you're missing you're doing ZERO damage, which is much worse than doing a little less per hit.

      @jayjayx5x1 Před rokem

      uhhh.... god wars 2... Sliske armor... is hybrid t80/85 (85 if upgraded) :|
      And you get the bonus of effects of existing hybrid sets if owned, (divine shield/surge and tuska's might). meaning you get the full 5 piece benefits of either of those 3, with only 3 t80 or t85 hyrbid armour, so you can put w/e boots and gloves on. (there be a reason the t80 variant of the chest is 40m).
      Just that it isn't really... well needed. Since style switching afaik at least, tends to be used for a single use or two, and not enough to warrant downgrading your dps with one style to buff the other given you mainly use the one style.

    Main reason being that these armor sets have additional benefits over just being something you drape over your body and call it a day - Vestments is increased adrenaline gain and +6 seconds on Berserk, which is 2-3 more abilities used that makes the difference, while Cryptbloom is hands down the most busted abomination in the game.

    Ironman mode taught me most of this intuitively. When given a choice between; grind out 3 - 5 drops, or 1 - 2 drops, you generally choose weapons over armour. After that, you perk them, level herblore for ovls, level prayer for ss/curses etc. Only after most of that is done do you then find the longer grinds for t90+ armour worthwhile. In the modern era with animate dead being where it's at, getting a set of t80 power has never been easier, but even still sometimes it can be more hassle than it's worth.
    When you can't just buy your gear, you quickly learn what is and isn't important. Weapons over armour, knowledge of mechanics over everything else.
    It's nice to see some maths behind it, it does put everything into perspective. Great video.

      Ironman made me realize Elite Rune had it's uses, being able to stay at Vindicta and Graardor 100x longer without banking than when having Bandos armor on (For the players that were too lazy to grind masterwork right away), sometimes that armor bonus be feeling great if your power armor is tons of tiers below some beefy boi armor. Granted this benefit was useless at any boss that had high accuracy like Araxxor so for sure has a heavy fall off and even a little damage ends up being superior in every way. I will say I mainly used pernix for a long time but finally decided to buy sirenic. At the same time I finally got some more expensive perks biting 4+ X etc. I think this advice is okay in general but if you're at the point where I was wearing pernix you are most definitely better off not putting extremely expensive perks on it because it's significantly more expensive/ hard to get those perks off. With sirenic you can easily disassemble it without it being hte end of the world and can then upgrade to elite sirenic. But if you put your expensive perks on pernix you're either going to need to use an equipment separator which is expensive and annoying since you have to level up the gear to 15 or whatever. OR you dissasemble the pernix which is pretty expensive to do. So I think I was better off upgrading from pernix to sirenic then putting expensive perks on that.

    • @kollinpoindexter8859
      @kollinpoindexter8859 Před rokem

      I don't know if sirenic is really an upgrade from pernix. With bossing mostof the time the extra armor doesn't matter because mechanics are 100% accuracy, or the boss will give you a massive reso that heals all the damage you have taken from his autos anyways. The upkeep costs of the armours are similar too. Sirenic offers a small boost in dmg, but the extra damage is negligible, especially when you get to higher end rotations and half your abilities in ds are max hitting. For the most part I would like an extra 500 health over an extra 4 base range dmg.
      The perk removability is a valid concern due to the upfront cost of pernix. But that's really only if you choose to change styles, not really if your staying in range. I think for the most part I would even take pernix over sirenic, although the extra armor from the tier 90 and 92 is significant to pass on if your doing bosses without 100% auto hit chance and no reso spots. I do bosses where the damadge is fixed and the sirenic wouldn't save me from mistakes where pernix would.

Getting any power armour set is great advice because from what i understand power armour offers more damage whereas tank armour does offer a tiny bit of damage reduction but mostly a higher "dodge chance" so ironically the best defense in runescape has always been just kill the enemy faster so it has less hit chances against you lol

      So it doesn't just offer damage reduction, and it's actually pretty notable damage reduction, it also offers a boost to your HP. That being said most tank armor has special properties to it that make it stand out from simple matter of accessibility to actual special effects. The problem with tank armor in the past is that raw DPS with Soul split and stuff could let you out heal to the point defense basically wasn't a thing. Magic armor got the spell buff animate dead which drastically increases the tankiness though so magic tank armor under that spell ultimately provides such high defensive capability that it's a lot more accessible for people who aren't good at DPS rotations for healing.

    Pretty good video. I usually stop getting gear past t80 until I get bored enough or sirenic when on the main. However.
    Youre missing a key point which you mentioned in your explination of cryptbloom. Upgrading your armor wont help your damage however it will cause monsters to splash more which can be good or bad. For example kerapac or raksha I might want to opt for higher tier armor incase i mess up and can get that extra splash chance. Where as at seiryu i might opt for lower defence to make use of his breath to keep juicing the relic easy as possible. Also anyone learning and having trouble would easily benefit from the def bonus..
    Ie: learning rax, sure you can easily learn in lets say lunar. But upgrading to ahrims alone will help out a lot more even without animate to the normal person specially with minions. Port armor are suppose to be TANK ARMOR and one way to increase their roleplay is to give them better effect. It's not gonna be OP since a lot of defensive abilities are already nerfed because of Legacy players crying 24/7 that EOC is too OP and even if you attach invention perks to these current nerfed abilities it's not gonna be OP either.

      No. Killing bosses faster with power armor provides greater damage reduction than tank armor does. The sooner the boss is dead, the less damage the boss can deal to you. It's pretty much been that way since eoc released. The best defense is a good offense.

If you get into the habit of always wearing tank armor, it will act as a crutch and prevent you from improving.
