    I'm thinking about escaping the US kleptocracy. I assume there are fixer upper houses in rural Uruguay, say 10 miles outside a city. Thinking about greenhousing and permaculture. Would you happen to know a range of prices for a rural "livable shack" with maybe an acre or two? Online searches for rural properties are tough. Thanks.

      Punta Del Este is nice. It has a reputation as a single season city. When I went there this past summer it was noticeably depressed due to the lack of external tourists. Rocha has great beaches and nature.

    • @AaronInMVD
      @AaronInMVD  Před 2 lety +2

      It can be a challenge. I do suggest having a plan to support yourself. Uruguay works well for simple quiet lives. Medical careers can be tricky due to licensing and relatively lower pay, but there are some international firms here like Johnson and Johnson, 3M, and Globant that may have career tracks you can pivot towards with your experience.

      You can learn it. Won't take too long to learn the basics. Either way in Argentina and Uruguay about half the people there speak English since it is taught in the schools. I'm going to both places in a month with little Spanish so I will hope for the best. You have to go for yourself to make sure it is right for you.

    You can't compare Uruguay with the wealthiest country that ever existed. Any comparison is unfair for both sides. Uruguay is roughly the size of Utah and population is slightly less also. Even comparing it state by state is also unfair as we don't receive federal funds from - again - the wealthiest country that ever existed 😂

    • @AaronInMVD
      @AaronInMVD  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Sure I can, because despite all of the US empire's advantages... Uruguay consistently beats it despite the unfairness you allege in comparing "the wealthiest" empire in history so far to a small yet reasonably well developed county. This suggests profound failures in management capable of overcoming all the the US's advantages.
      Anyways, the comparative Wealthiest-nest of the US is dubious. The US GDP has been smaller than China's since 2014 at the latest when adjusted for purchasing power parity or 2019 if you want to insist such adjustments are unfair.

    Everything costs 3 times more in Uruguay, people earn 3 times less than in the US, the food? ask for oysters or crab legs or lobster it does not exist, just meat, hot dogs and french fries all over the place and one or two italian dishes, the fiood is plain and boring, the health care system, just dont get sick! you might have to wait for months for surgery, the hospitals are run down with street animals walking in and out, trash all over the city nothing is well maintaned, only the malls have some kind of air condition or heat nothing else does but hey., You can smoke weed free of troubles no problem because, you got to be high to live here,
