I love how the helldiver training course is literally a few minutes long, really drives the point home about what the game’s parodying.
And Helldivers are supposed to be Super Earth's ELITE soldiers (being given access to special weapons and equipment) sent on missions standard troops cannot handle. We can only imagine how much worse it is for the regular Armed Forces trooper. Probably just told to memorize how to reload before being shipped off to a meat grinder.
@@Lazarultos To be fair, I don't think there even are "normal" soldiers. It's all just common folks being indoctrinated and tricked into thinking they are special Helldivers.
The training course can literally kill you if you mess up and it's canon in the game that in this case you just get control over the soldier arriving right after the previous one. General Brasch is saying "you did the best job that was ever done, you are unique" when you just killed a defenceless bug and ran through a 2 minute course.
The training course just filters out the absolutely incompetent (by literally killing them!), the rest gets frozen in transport pods and shipped to wherever they are needed... all while being told they are special and in charge. Your own ship is home to hundreds of Helldivers that get thawed one after the other as needed.
*We* are the maeatgrinder forces.
And we are proud to serve liberty.
@@lordhelmchen3154 The regular forces do exist: it's the Super Earth Armed Forces (SEAF). They seem to function as the defense force of Super Earth, being put in charge of defending planets (since it was mentioned the SEAF is taking over control of TCS) and we come across various SEAF bases with abandoned weapons and dead people wearing (cape-less) uniforms.
Essentially the Helldivers are just a different branch of the military. We just get more weapons and equipment because we are the offensive force of Super Earth. But I do agree that we are all thrown into the same meatgrinder. We just have more guns and ordnance at our disposal than a SEAF grunt

When you actually learn how to play, you will love this even more. Call in your machine gun as soon as you drop in, and your resupply as much as possible, also the orbitals and Eagles. They reload fast enough you can and should spam them all.
Next, the split circle icons on the ground are samples you need for ship upgrades.

Eagle Gatling barrage is solid because it lasts a while, also yeah the orbitals are OP. anti matter rifle is useful for taking out the larger bugs, machine gun useful for crowd control. Also I learnt to give your teammate space

I’m glad there’s an actual quality game out now, feels like it’s been ages
I mean there’s been good quality games before this but it’s mainly in the single player and indie market but this is the 1st multiplayer game from a AAA publisher in years that actually lived up to high expectations and made me want to continue playing it I think it’s time for big AAA publishers to just scale their games budgets back for live service titles, make the monetization not egregious and let players earn currency by playing the game as a option, and to let devs work on their games because clearly you can tell this is made by people who wanted to make a game like this and let everyone just have fun

tip for anyone having difficulty with Evac missons, this is a 4 man tactic
have two guys run out of the base and explore the map looking for Samples (preferably have them go in opposite direction of each other)
The AI can only have so many enemies on the field it will divide up its forces into 1/3s
2/3 of that will be going after the runners in the field (who each will only deal with 1/3 themselves)
and the 2 guys remaining at the base overseeing the evac will also only have to deal with 1/3
everyone should drop with mortars (and EMP mortars if you have them) everyone should have a support weapon they feel comfortable with (highly suggest the runners have an auto-canon rail gun or recoiless if they run into Hulks) and the runners pretty much only stop for as long as its needed to scavenge ammo, grab loot, or clear out enemies in their way
Base defenders make sure you are using your sentry strategms whenever you have the oppurtinity and have each one of you focus on a door the ciivlians spawn from, if either of you needs help, help but dont bunch up

It's been a very long time. I feel excited when I return home to play games after 8 hours of work, and wake up as early as possible to play this game before going to work.
Kevduit was so powerful that the only thing that could kill him was himself.
This game has huge " who's a good boy " kinda vibe in the training

People are....The problem is the PC imbeciles who feel the need to stay logged in for days at a time. Its not rocket science that the first game was meh at best so nobody thought this many people would be playing the sequel. What they need to do is have a boot timer for idle players

This is a prime example of a game suffering from excessive success, not enough server infraestructure because the developers didn't think that the game would explode this much.

If they can just fix the server and matchmaking issues, this game would be a masterpiece. Like bro I'm waiting upwards of 25 minutes to get into the game and then for some reason I can't even find a match to join, pretty frustrating, especially when the gameplay is this fun
Its not sever issues. People need to quit calling servers at capacity a server issue. There is nothing wrong with the servers, no intelligent company is going to get 10,000 servers for a game that had a mid to low player base on the first game. What they need to do is actually have an idle boot so these PC imbeciles who just leave the game running for hours or days get booted after 20 minutes of inactivity.
Their first game had a peak of about 10k players and this one has about 500,000 players and it’s still growing. The server issues should be ironed out this week with a full work week on them.
