    How the urine osmolality is increased by giving desmopressin in an hypernatremic patient

      desmopressin will decrease water loss into urine, by the increased activation of aquaporin channels in the kidneys, more water will enter the plasma from the kidney, causing the filtrate lost in urine to have less water and therefore more concentrated, resulting in increased osmolality.
