Finger picking takes a lot of talent. Your mind can only focus on one thing at a time, it's literally impossible to deviate from that. So to play on one hand and do a complex finger picking pattern on the other hand, it's just very hard. I can't finger pick beyond simply back and forths like Dream On for example. Amateur singers often come across the same basic problem for the same reason, your mind struggling to play and sing at the same time.
It takes real talent to do what he's doing. Years of practice. Appreciate it for what it is.

I always hated this talent or genetic excuse because it really downgrades the work successful people are doing, which you are clearly not willing to do...
+toup0 I agree, not to brag, but I was able to learn fingerstyle and play difficult arrangements within the first two months because of hardcore practice. I was so devoted to it that during the summer(when I started) I literally played all day long (no life ik hahahah). so yes all you need is a strong passion and it won't take you long before being able to play like this. Great arrangement. The vocal inflections on the chorus are a natural for tapping, but a nice touch to also go for the harmonics. Sweet.

Hey Peter, a year ago you taught me some Skype lessons for fingerstyle and I just wanted to say that all of your lessons stayed with me but I had gotten myself discouraged and so I put off the guitar until very recently when I went to my first ever concert, I absolutely loved every bit of it and I had a deeper understanding of music after it so I gradually started to lean back into fingerstyle and I now see the reason I quit and it was commitment. Now that i've started to dedicate hours a day to guitar i can now say that i'm beginning to feel proud of myself for what i've accomplished and how clean it sounds and i have you to thank, also Happy Birthday Peter.
