The microphone could have an influence aswell, different settings and makes of microphones cause you voice to sound different, an example being my voice sounds lower when talking out of my studio microphone but sounds higher coming from my headset microphone

Speaking techniques help with using different tones and registers of your voice, like speaking from lower in your torse (diaphragm) to create a lower tone. He's also speaking in a different accent, which he could have habitized to be at a lower tone.

I have found that those sennheiser headsets tend to pick up the lows a bit more compared to an audio-technica. I do prefer these, my experience running live broadcasts the temd to be more forgiving in terms of background noise.
