    I have used Smartwool socks for years while backpacking/hiking and they never let me down. Now that I'm retired my wife and I live on a farm in central texas (Thorndale) and I get all the exercise i need. Blessings.

What an inspiration, and much courage that hiker had. Great accomplishment hiking that trail, looked challenging. Mika looked sooo thirsty. Nice looking filets! -Michelle

      Thanks and Thanks...was a great place to stay for a few days.. Meka did great on the hike...I swear...altitude does not affect them as it does humans...she had no issues and she is almost 12.

    We absolutely LOVE!!!! New Mexico. We've spent time in Las Cruces and Albuquerque. Taos and Santa Fe are next on our list. That lake hike looked amazing!! Y'all are crazy breaking in the new hiking season at 11,000 feet! Safe travels in "The Little One" can't wait to see where you're going next.

      Thanks guys...Taos was very cool...downtown is under construction now so that hampered our desire to spend time there. I know about the hike....it was a tough one for sure at the elevation.

    L9ve the outdoor TV, we want one for the house, actually i watched this video on our back deck at 11pm on the tablet...70 with a slight breeze, helps make me feel like were there..lol.
    I would have to say by the smiling faces that the Lance is working out well.
    Happy Father's day to you Ken... Cheers 🥃🥂🥂‼️

      Thanks Rob....yeah we are getting used to "the little one". been doing some mods on it while moochdocking at our daughter's house. I do like the TV setup on this much better than the Alliance...but we sure do miss the space of the Alliance....but its all a trade off for sure.

    Hey guys you have sold this area to us! That bridge and Gorge looked great. Nice television set up Ken we took the TV out of our first RV but the new one came with 3 and the outside one has been used a lot. Ron likes it on when he is grilling and we actually play a lot of concerts on it which is really nice! Wow you guys are way ahead of us much of our hiking hasnt happened and we are so behind now we are going on a cruise in which we will be doing everything that will not help with hiking and when we get back we are going to festivals we are going to be in trouble when we see you in the fall. The man you guys saw on that hike did sound inspirational I would have for sure have told ourselves to get our act together. Dinner looked good sorry about the brewery you took the disappointment well! Safe Travels! Jodi ( and Ron)

      If there are special things on TV like the Ryder Cup, Olympics, the newest JustRamblin'around video....it nice to sit outside and watch when the eather is nice and the campground allows it. Taos is pretty cool...but you only need a few days...but there is also Angel Fire and Red River Valley close by.

    There used to be a place on US64 going into Taos called the Blue Moon campground on the South side of 64. I camped there three or four times back in the early 2000s. I had a pop tent camper from Leesurelite that I pulled with my Motorcycle. Great place, far enough off the highway that road noise wasn’t a problem, nice shower.

      Interesting...we should have come up 64 but we decided to "go through the mountains" instead...bad choice. Look at out previous video about the route we took. No Bueno!!

      @@TheRoadSMITHS 64 is a pretty nice road. You can get in from Cimarron, which was a disappointment after all the Western fame, up into Eagle’s nest, by the Vietnam Veterans memorial and on to Taos. Pretty country.

    Geezzz Ken, if you take a header getting the picture of the cactus flower (4:52), you're toast, adios amigo, sayonara dude, as in gouge diving big boy and Pam there left holding the camera as they say, will be starring in one of her own true crime stories. I can see it now: Couple buys small Rv, husband "trips" into gouge, story at 11.
    All that hiking and the brewhouse is closed!? That wouldn't have stopped the Ramblers' from getting in there. haha Enjoy the cooler temps. You guys working The Silver Knot this year?

      @TheRoadSMITHS  Před 5 dny +1

      Haha...there was a ledge about 20 feet below. to either stop my fall or bounce me all the way down. There were some spots thought to be very very careful about getting too close. We were so disappointed that it was closed..but that meant we go to the steak quicker. Haha. And yes...Ron and Jodi would have not taken no for an answer!

    I remember that lake, it was along the trail on the decent from Wheeler Peak. And yes, the beer garden was open, a much-earned celebration after the morning hike to the top.

    • @TheRoadSMITHS
      @TheRoadSMITHS  Před 4 dny

      Sounds like you’re a much more seasoned hiker than we are if you hiked Wheeler Peak! 😅 We did think about hiking up your the peak, but it only took a moment to realize it was probably best if we didn’t since this was our first hike of the season! We will definitely have to do it the next trip to the area and plan correctly to enjoy a beer after! Cheers! 🍻

    Beautiful lake! Looked like a nice but tiring hike. Did you see that man with crutches again in the hike back to help him out? I feel bad about him hiking alone and on crutches. Was it cold up there? How dud Meka do on the hike? Where’s my steak? lol! 😂 it’s in the triples here in Vegas. Hope you have a great weekend and week and great 4th of July. See you soon!

    • @TheRoadSMITHS

      We saw him on the way down and asked if he needed help and he said no. It was nice and cool up there, not cold. Meka did great...in fact I told Pam we need to ask a vet about the effects of high altitudes on dogs vs humans....she was not dragging a bit. Happy 4th!!
