    STORYLINE:
US President Barack Obama met his South African counterpart in Pretoria.
Obama flew in by helicopter with First Lady Michelle, before heading to the city's Union Buildings, where he was greeted by Jacob Zuma and his wife.
They posed for photographs before heading inside the complex.
Former South African leader Nelson Mandela, who remains in a critical condition in hospital, was inaugurated at the Union Buildings in 1994.
He became the country's first black president after 27 years behind bars under racist rule.
Obama plans to visit relatives of Mandela privately on Sarturday, but does not intend to see the critically ill anti-apartheid activist he has called a "personal hero."
