Essentially Jin wrote the lyrics. Jin wrote first verse in Korean. Others should be English but Chris loved what Jin wrote so he had Jin write as well the second verse in Korean. Backing vocals were Chris and his son, Moses.

I feel like Jin's vocals really shine the most in slower or mid-tempo songs like this where they don't get overshadowed by the production. I had the same reaction as you did when I first listened to Astronaut because he just sounds so incredible. It invoked the same wave of emotion and amazement in me as Awake did when I listened to it for the first time. Jin's voice truly has that power.
There is SO much packed into this video! The second I realized Jin was an alien who chose to stay, that the little girl represents Army, the purposeful significance of the items on the wall and in his room, the pictures, the little bell at the end? Yeah. Lost it. I hope you will also review the live filmed in Argentina. The bond between Coldplay and BTS, Chris and Jin specifically, is incredible. Did you see the word puzzle and what it says? Yeaaah... He's going to be okay. We'll be okay And yes, there are albums! Absolutely! Physical and digital downloads as well.

It really is such a beautiful song! I was crying so much after I found out the story of the mv and it made me feel so many emotions. I listen to song when I just want to feel that feeling of contentment and love. So beautiful!💜💜

I just feel like there are a lot of things to unpack. the way he felt happy when the girl learns to ride on her own. all the stop signs and he's still walking. The crossword. Everything is so well executed this video is so aesthetically pleasing and cinematic in its own. the story line is full of hints for everyone. He's leaving but he'll be okay. He made us self dependant that we can keep ourselves well without him. God i love this music video so much. This song is so coldplay yet his voice feels absolutely fitting. His look is so mesmerising. The background vocals. Everything about this song is so perfect. After still life this is the only song that made me sob.We'll wait for him.
This story kind of reminds me of the journey of immigrating to a foreign country with my family many years ago, having an identity crisis and trying to find my way back, but eventually making memories on the way and slowly embracing myself in the new home. My heart feels warm

This song felt like him patting us on the head and telling us he won't be gone for long. I didn't realise how sad I was about him leaving until I watched this the first time
This song is so reassuring. I loved actor Kim SeokJin and singer Jin wholeheartedly. His message with this video was so heartfelt, and the musical brotherhood connection between the collaborating artists also shines through with such an uplifting vibe. I wish Jin released a solo album. I love everything by Jin - Awake, Tonight, Moon, Abyss, Supertuna and The Astronaut. Even his cover of I Love You is a song I often listen to. He sings Saranghae so many times in the chorus of that song. When I heard him sing I Love You in English in The Astronaut, I was wondering if that was in English, so fans could have a record of his confession in both his native and a global language. I think it was a conscious and meaningful choice. I also adore the little mascot Jin is promoting this single with - Wotteo. I truly believe if Jin was not singing or acting he would be pursuing games design - and he has the talents for it. Also, this MV reminded me of My Love From Another Star and The Boy Who Could Fly. Had a very 80s family movie feel. I could watch a whole movie based on this MV.
This song is magical. It makes me feel nostolgic, bittersweet and yet at times free. A constant juxtaposition whenever i listen to Astronaut, but i wouldnt have it any other way! Jin does a phenomenal job with this song!

I almost feel like this is a retelling of The Man Who Fell to Earth, or The Little Prince. Also the way he walks through the city reminds me of the MV for Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve.

I liked this solely because its essentially Jin covering a Coldplay song. The story of the MV was very sweet as well. Jin decided to stay on earth because he made friends with the girl despite his spaceship repaired and ready to leave. Because he doesn't want "heaven" to himself

Ah, this song makes me tear up all the time. Please, also watch the live performance of Jin at the Coldplay concert it was incredible.
I has the opportunity to see the live performance. But there is something that none said that happened that day. When we were doing the line outside the stadium, the rehearsed The astronaut. Everyone suddenly shut up, none was speaking. When the rehearsal ended I turn around, all the people were crying. We realized that in just a few hours we were going to experience for the first time be the ones in the audience and not behind a cellphone.

Thanks PD for this lovely reaction. I've been waiting for your take on this. Never disappoints. As others have pointed out there are a million easter eggs in this vid. I'll share just one. They needed someone inside the astronaut suite. As you can tell it isn't very tall. Who ended up in the suit? Lumpen. The director of this MV and so many other BTS vids. Thank you for talking about the camera lenses used. It does have a very cinematic look to it.
Coldplay and Jin was a match made in heaven, this is full of soul, love, emotional and appreciation. I'm so happy for Jin before he goes off to the army he made his dream come true making a song with his all time favorite band and to give BTS Army a song to remember him by when he's in his service, telling us even though he's leaving, he's not really leaving. 💜
