Very true especially most artists today and all of the no talent whatsoever Rap Artists. Kelly rivals Luther, Baby Face, Freddie Jackson, and Teddy Pendergrass. Often compared to Joe at the beginning of Joe's hits his " Step In the Name of Love became a dance tune for people everywhere.
There are not too many greater but Nat King Cole, Stevie, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles reside at a level he will never reach though.

Despite everything you mentioned I don't recall Usher having more than a couple of hits that dominated the airwaves like so many of Kelly's hits. As for" nobody in R& B has done it on a higher level " that's so false it's disrespect for the " Greats " on a level Usher will never reach like Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie, Michael Jackson ,The Temptations, Luther, Sam Cooke and others. One of the things newbies who think the latest are the greatest is something they can't know and that is " Dominance ". Dominating a market. Dominating the airwaves. By that I mean with everything you mentioned about Usher he and other artists exists in a huge market with many other artists and other genres and methods of listening to music. The greats I mentioned had music that dominated partly because we only had 2 or 3 stations or less to listen to the music we love so their impact was greater than an usher or other very good artists. For example , not only did Marvin Gaye have dozens of hits over 2 decades his " What's Going On " album was revolutionary and voted among the greatest compilations of All Time! Usher has nothing that even comes close. Same thing for Stevie who had a period of being the greatest over all artists and changed music recording with his use of synthesis . So, Usher who is multi-talented ( one of the best dancers we've ever seen ) does not rank among the greats and In mine opinion has had less impact ( dominance ) than R Kelly. Sam Cooke was voted the 3rd greatest artist of the 20th century for ex. A List I doubt Usher even made.

He was / is about 30% or the entire R&B spectrum whether you like him or not. All the music that he’s written and produced for himself and other artists. It’s very difficult to mute him. There’s types of people when it comes to the support of Kelly’s music: 1. They can’t separate the man from the music and think he’s the worst person so they will not play his music at all. Then there’s 2. People who can separate the two and play the hell outta his music bcuz it’s legendary and classic. I still play it. But I respect anyone who can’t separate the two. 💯
