Philly guy here. The flyers honestly just aren’t skilled this year. They keep getting the puck stolen, and every time they’re on a breakaway, they wait too long to shoot and completely miss the goal entirely. I’ve been to 5 flyers games this year and the only team they beat was the canucks.
New season: i know it's early, but they seem like they at least care! Say what you want about torts, but if you play for him, he is going to insist you play with energy, and that you have each others backs! This feels like the season where they turn things around! It starts now

It was a great day when Montreal swept the goon squad in 1976. I also loved in when The Red Wings swept them in 1997. So many were ready to crown punk Lindros king but Stevie Y had other ideas. Scotty Bowman 8-0 against them in Cup finals

Torts is a guy that will crack the whip. You want to make the line up, you got to play for the whole game, you are not allowed to check out mentally in the 3rd period. He is the guy you get to coach young core that are learning to find their way in the league. If anything I would expect the flyers to be a more disciplined team and a better conditioned team when he is done with them if the team buys in.
Best thing the flyers should do this year is tank. Tank for a generational talent in Bedard. If Chuck gets his head out of his ass this off-season, try to retool as well.

Claud Giroux absolutely ruined the flyers, he was a 9mil/year handcuff to the entire organization, he broke the locker room, he broke the cap, and he broke what 5 different coaches over 8 years, ill never forgive that bum for what he did to our club. In the end he could have taken a few less dollars to chase a cup but he went for a payday in Ottawa, says alot about his character.
If you weigh the odds, and take into account the skill level and desire of the players that are around him, the odds are very low for any player to win the SC. So he went for what money he commanded. Business decision.
The Flyers have a solid goalie, possibly a solid backup goalie, 5 decent d-men, a couple forwards who can score, & coach that's no joke. Say what you will about Torts but it's his way or the highway. His record (Aside from Vancouver) is actually pretty impressive.

Torts…good coach, but with the Flyers, he is the buffer between the fans and the Incompetent Front Office that has run this team into the ground over the past 10+ years. Those Drones (mostly ex-Flyers taking up space in the Front Office) aren’t going anywhere. They will never be held accountable (although Torts will) and will always be shielded from the chaos surrounding this team. Cant understand why the word ‘accountable’ is a foreign concept with this group.
