I disagree with you Sir. I actually found the 1893 to be a little more "sharp" than regular pepsi cola with a little more of a molassas flavor to it. I didn't get the same watered-down taste that you received from this tasting, but i will not deny that your taste buds are perhaps more sophisticated than mine are.
How old is this gentlemen? I've watched his videos over the years and he doesn't seem to age a day.

Sir I must respectfully disagree with your assessment of 1893. I found my example to be more carbonated and stronger than a regular Pepsi. However there are additional flavor profiles in the drink that are not for everyone. I believe this drink is best served either ice-cold or as a mixer with an adult beverage. Cheers! ;)

You'd expect it to lose some of the carbonation after nearly 120 years of sitting at Costco.
One small error at around 5:24 - If the ice cubes in the drink melted, the overall level of the fluid would be lower than before. Water has a relatively unique property of expanding in its solid state. Great review overall :)

When ice floating in a liquid melts the water level actually remains the same. A floating object displaces an amount of water equal to its own weight (not volume). Since water expands when it freezes, one ounce of frozen water has a larger volume than one ounce of liquid water. This lower density is why it floats, but the same amount of water will be displaced regardless of it being frozen or liquid. Just a bit of physics.

I personally enjoy this series very much. The reason I did not vote for it was because it is my second favorite, behind Running on Empty. You should name it: it deserves a name.
That must have been a messy batch or something, every time I've gotten 1893 it's like Pepsi turned up to 11. It's like a better version of Pepsi Throwback, really, and it kicks your throat with the heavy carbonation. I quite enjoy it.

Tried one of these myself today, 99 cents. Your review is spot on. Reminds me of when i worked with some Romanian guys, they would purposefully let the drinks go flat before they'd drink any. Maybe it's a thing in Eastern Europe ?

I tried it the other day on a whim. Got a can for a dollar at the checkout line at the grocery store. I actually really liked it. I'm going to buy more. Definitely not everybody's cup of tea, I can see why other people would not like it.
so the whole thing with the "1893" is that it's not old.Its a new formula of Pepsi that they have just called 1893.If you read the can carefully it also says "from the makers or Pepsi".So again this isn't some old form of Pepsi they are just now selling,its a new formula that's made in the essence of old made soda.This is just a cleaver marketing trick to male you think you're tasting and old formula soda when in reality you're tasting something brand new and using marketing to make you thing you're drinking something special.

in the uk its more expensive to have high fructose corn syrup cause we dont have much corn fields unlike the us and we don't want to pay for shipping from europe or america for corn so pepsi is still made with cane sugar from france cause its easier to ship from france cause it's a small ferry ride over the channel to get there
