You are amazing bro ! the secret of a good mixing is not the expansive plugins or shitty compressors that they advertise... the secret is the sounds/samples that u choose to make your layers, Leveling, stereo imaging, EQ and Reverb. These are the main ingrediants to make an atmospheric punchy drop ( with a very good melodies ofc ), this man tells u the reality, and this is how big producers like martin garrix do. learn basics !!!!!!!!!! listen to a looooooooooot of tracks in order to be like this humble man, able to catch the layers inside others tracks…and don't get lost with ads and what dummies says, you don't neeed expensive gear, you don't need expensive plugins, you need the REFLEXION.
Most accurate remake I've ever heard for this track. Could you also try to remake Together or Starlight. I really struggle to recreate the lead sounds.

13:30 known as Loud Mastering which done on those tracks which are played on the festivals .......... and another type of mastering known as dynamic mastering in which we need headroom and this is for like streaming platforms :)

Your point about not having too many layers resonated with me. That's propably what's wrong in my tracks. Having too much stuff (propably some wrong sounds too) going on, so the final mix/master is too quiet and distorted.
@djseverman for the longest time I've been manually automating the reverb on my leads, I don't know why it ever dawned on me to use the peak controller to do it. Any tips on recreating sidechaining two frequency bands within a multi-band compressor. I don't have Fabfilter MB but I recently got a great tip to fix muddy low end and I did notice a difference however I am trying to figure out a way to do it with FL studio or freeware plug-ins. I could always IM you the video I saw it in if you are curious or unsure what I mean.

From 6:02 I totally agree. Personally in progressive house tracks I use 4 or 5 layers and it's better in mixing it later and FL Studio doesn't crash and in general the mix sounds sometimes cleaner. Sometimes even one layer does the job, if it's mixed properly (but it depends on which genre it is).

Try reducing highs, play around with ADSR or add a lowpass filter with some decay
