I bet people’s comment will go from “this 4runner looks sick!”
To “there’s no way im gonna buy that 4banger turbo hybrid expensive af trash.” Once the numbers come out.
Because the changes are too cool and of course my friend happy father's day
Loving the aesthetics
Nice overview. Definitely like the Trailhunter. We have a 5th gen set up for Overlanding with the OME shocks and 3" lift springs along with 33" tires. Look forward to more power and fuel economy. The updated tech and safety gear is a plus as well. Glad they kept the sliding rear window, we use that a lot. Wish the costs were lower, but we plan on keeping it a long time...
It's a lot heavier than the 5thgen..it won't get better fuel.. power is only for how heavy it will be
This new 4runner trail hunter just bad ass I need one when it comes out
I wish they could've put that brown interior in the Tacoma! Looks awesome
I love this sublime pick-up truck. It is so torquey and responsive.
It’s crazy how we already have 2025 car models
In my opinion- I don’t necessarily think having more trims and nicer features is a bad thing- it probably appeals to more buyers that way
When I saw the initial pics, I wasn’t really feeling it. Seeing it more In depth on video it looks pretty good!
Chris, What happened to the 40/20/40 second row?
Is it just me or does that rear seat space look significantly smaller than the 5th gen?
It is.
I’m curious if it’s smaller than the GX/Landcruiser though because every video I’ve seen those cars have pretty good rear seat room
the new Tacoma, this new 4runner, they have ZERO rear legroom. I don't think the japanese have caught on to how fat we are
@@NotBackstretch the lead engineer of the tacoma and 4runner is american, and i dont wanna be mean but he is "fat" funnily enough
Idk why they decided to go with tumbling seats. The simple folding seats they had provided more space.
The tires on this overland trim is identical to the GX550 Overtrail model
Muito legal
Front grab handles are one of the very few things missing I could nitpick about the 4runner in my armchair.
I'll never be able to afford the Trailhunter 4Runner, but i REALLY hope they'll offer this color on some other trims. I suspect its a Trailhunter package only kinda thing though.
Finally come out with tech ;)
Love it but pretty same price with Lexus TX
I am really hung-up on the cost-cutting move that the 6th gen went to tumble forward second row seats for ALL 4Runners. In the 5th gen, you got tumble forward if you had a 3 row, and you got the normal fold down if you had a 2 row version. That makes a nice flat area, doesn't waste as much cargo space, and results in an area you can actually sleep in. I guess they just didn't feel like having two versions of second row seats. Tumbling seats forward in a 6th gen, it seems like sleeping in it isn't happening, and that's a shame, because when I'm on an overlanding trip, sometimes I just wanna sleep in the truck, not set up a tent for a one-nighter.
I really like the new one! But considering I'm still driving a 2010 Highlander I don't see one in my future! lol
Toyota is having way too many recalls to be asking for that much money on a new 4Runner or Tacoma. Toyota used to be the most reliable, now i can’t even trust the manufacturer to produce anything with quality and reliability
Wait.... why's it look like an X-terra from 2009?
Don't mind the turbo, just wait 2 years for standard Toyota new engine corrections. Unfortunately the rear/cargo area is just crap. Lack of fold flat 2nd row is a non starter for a lot of current owners. They should have added accessory mount points instead of useless cupholders for non existent 3rd row seats. The other BIG issue is nobody at Toyota used the Trailhunter. The rear air and power face into the cargo area in a vehicle that will have drawers/cargo always covering it up making it useless. I do like the looks and the front row, but everything else is a pile of ignorance.
Beauty is only sheet metal deep; this 4Runner will brake the bank and it doesn't do anything the current 4Runner can't do.
If it actually gets 8-10 MPG better it might be worth the enormous price increase, but this will only improve 1-2 mpg!
Need to see this in person to see and feel if it feels as durable and robust as previous gen/older suvs. Seems like as time goes by newer cars feel less and less durable thinner body panels paint and cheaper interior material. I like my 24 RX but the interior while it feels solid built it doesn’t feel like how older Lexus use to feel more robust.
I guess I see how the roof rack prevents a panoramic sunroof but from what I can see in the video it looks like it's so far back that a normal size sunroof for the front could have been implemented. I like that it has accent stitching but I think it would've been cooler if it matched the wheels or some other existing color accent. Looks more yellow to me.
How is the ride ? On and off road
I love the new generation 4Runner but the suspected pricing of this has me worried.
Even with all the upgrades I still prefer the last gen. I think Toyota increasing the prices and focusing on fancier trims instead of affordability was the wrong direction. Also the new ones are super ugly imo
Totally agree, let's not forget the reliability and long term retention rate, inline4+turbo+hybrid+iMax transmission cannot even come close to the old one, too many failure points in comparison to tried and true 4L V6 and 5 speed auto, which plays to your affordability point as well
Totally agree. There’s barely any affordable cars left. Im keeping my car til it dies.
New ones will be great looking in person just like the Tacoma. Plus it has more power and torque. Plus a much nicer interior. Hopefully they fixed the bad rusting for the price. These always rusted out after a few years.
@@ryanb8736 I’ve seen the new Tacoma in person and I’m still not a huge fan on the direction. This 4Runner is way too busy and overly macho. Don’t care about the little extra power and torque with how much extra complexity and weight is added. Just mate an 8 speed to the 4.0 and it will perform just as well
The more videos I watch on the new model the more I don’t like it. The design on the prior generation looks more cohesive IMHO.
Hopefully, the new Rav 4 looks similar to this 4 runner inside and out
They shoulda kept the Tacoma v6 non turbo and added hybrid boost.
Is it just me, or is the snorkel functionally useless on the Trailhunter?
This interior redesign could’ve been brought to the gen 5. Even some quality of life imporovements like better camera quality + better infotainment system.
This 4Runner shared everything with the Tacoma yet the prices won’t reflect that. They get to save money yet the consumer won’t
Toyota - WHY not put a front locker in the Trailhunter version? (sigh)
Front lockers break a lot and needed very little usually however this new version doesn't offer atrac anymore on front?
Price on the new 4runners are going to be out of control but man, the interior space on the 4th gen are fugly.
Not a fan of those slotted panels on the door and center console. Someone let the co-op design that. Lol! 😂
Pricing is what I am interested in with that many dang trims. Next to the dealers tossing on that extra dealer tax they like to toss on.
2026 snorkel is optional.... ? hopefully
Snorkel is not optional on Trailhunter Tacoma but optional on all other trims. Probably same for 4Runner
Hate it, ran out and bought a 2024
Toyota? Engine might blow up!
It looks like a 4 door isuzu vehicross
The old v6 is tried and true design
More like a “tired” design. No torque. That’s unacceptable in an off-road vehicle. It’s piss weak.
@@alexsmba That 4.0L is severely detuned and has a lot of potential, however; the new 2.4L turbo is pushed to it's limit. I'm not sold.
@@timalan7406 lol pushed to its limit? I highly doubt that dude. If they couldn’t even get 300hp out of a turbo 2.4 and it was cranked out as high as they could get it, then that’s absolutely pathetic. You know Toyota added variable cam timing to the 4.0 to get more power out of it, right? So to suggest it was “detuned” is about as absurd as your other comment.
@@timalan7406 furthermore, when the 4.0 came out in 2005, it was actually competitive on performance against Nissan’s 4.0 DOHC motor. It had one upgrade on power with the VVT like I mentioned, and then no further improvements made. So it wasn’t “detuned” at all, it just became antiquated. Toyota did the right thing by replacing it with a turbo 4 and turbo 4 hybrid.
I’m looking forward to buy a new family car , my price range is 16k U.S.D does anyone have any suggestions?
Used Camry. You can get an 18-21 LE or SE model for around 16k-18k depending on the mileage and they're great cars
That shifter is eye sore
How come people only review the rich mans version of the 4Runner? What about the cheaper versions for us poor folk? So we can see what we're get
Wait has the 4Runner come out yet ? My mind is fried.. go Viltrum !
Hope they don’t recall on 2025….
Street thieves will look for that Damn GLB speaker and will break the window and take it away so that is one drawback
The way they copy and pasted that U-shaped element on the front fascia is pretty cheap and ugly looking lol. Otherwise they look great and I'm excited to see how they perform.
all these new yotas are gonna kick so much ass on the costco parking lot lmfaooo FOUR CYLINDERS ALL BAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
test drove it and the 4 cyc SUCKS. Very noisy when accelerating. Sounds like a lawn mower. Terrible decision by toyota to not offer a 6 CYL
Leg room feels more spacious. That’s one hellova lie 😅. Nice try
I’ll take the new Landcruiser. Just a nicer refined design…. Underneath they are the same
I love the interior updates but honestly can't stand the exterior, I'm sure it's going to grow on me like most things have, but still. It's just way too gimmicky for me, it looks like a toy truck made of plastic
Hate reviews in wide angle
The only thing the 4Runner needed was an 8 or 10 speed transmission. Everything else is garbage.
什么奇葩定位
The engine sounds like a fleet of trash pickup trucks that wake everyone up at 6am every Thursday. 👎
Algun millonario que me regale una soy de colombia
Será caro en Colombia. Uno de los Land Cruisers nuevos tiene un precio de casi $ 100,000.
Grabación fea la runner se ve toda mal enfocada
Not good for second-row passengers. And it sounds like a lawn mower....
Everything’s great except that damn long hood and terrible engines.
looks like a pile of overpriced woke sht....
