Oh maybe use a smaller version of metal rakes used for hay in farms, those rakes last forever. Smaller pipes require small rakes that can be reinforced.

Blow torch the Prongs untill Glowing Red/White and then..... Bend in Vice and Quench. Swap Handle with original Rake for lenth difference. Could even have Spares (Multi Forks...1 with 5prongs rest have 4,3 or 2prongs) No Tool works better than Homemade for Special purposes 🤟

I think the problem would be, if, such a rake was ever to be built strong enough for the work Post 10 does, the rake would be super heavy and very unweildable for any one to manage,

That rake lasted pretty long... but man, they just don't seem to make them to be able to handle "Post10" level of work. Hopefully, you can find a better one. Be safe out there.

I am shocked that you don't have a backup rake. Post10 is Mr. Preparedness! You do an outstanding job. The first culvert was 100%. The second was a 35-40% success. I don't see it as a complete failure. But the loss of the rake was a bummer!l
Maybe get two rakes, use one for a backup. It did look like you did do something. Get yourself dry. I hate driving in the rain but, watching your video it’s kind of relaxing.
Great video, as always. Small tip about Camera #2: Keep a roll of Scotch tape in the truck, and have a piece of plastic large enough to cover the screen of the phone from some packaging material. Then, secure the plastic around the back of the phone with a strip of tape. That way, you can flip the plastic away quickly to work the screen, and rain will not be able to interfere. Cardboard will work, too.
Hello, I watch another beaver dam remover on CZcams called Kenislovich. He is from Lithuania I believe. He uses a potato harvesting rake. It has wider, longer tines. It also has a horizontal handle half way down that allows one to pull with two arms if they wish. They are probably inexpensive in Lithuania, lol. A quick Google search didn't find a look-alike. I enjoy your unplugging videos, keep them coming.
Post, I grew up on a high bank over a river delta. Beach combing was every day for us kids...Beaver chews often floated down settling on the beach. Now at 74 after years of walking along waterways picking up this and that; I have a 10" beaver chew, chewed to a point on both ends. It had been a 4"-5" tree. Beaver in training? Obsessive beaver? Who knows but it sits on a shelf in my living room now. It's a beauty. Show and tell...I've used it to display jewelry and people have offered to buy it over the years. Keep doing what you're doing; many people ride along on your adventures!
All of the swamp gas and stinky smells are probably what is drawing all of the flies. Why don't you buy more than one rake? If one breaks then you don't have to leave to get another one. Just keep filming using the spare rake. I like the fact that you have a dashcam. It makes me feel like I'm riding with you and it's fun. Thanks for bringing me along.
I would say the reason the rake snapped is because the rake was not properly heat treated/tempered. Mass produced products seldom are properly heat treated and tempered. I don't think the cost of the tool determines quality I can forge a rake charge 100$ for it and still be a total pile of crap. And I can forge a 15$ rake and be the best in the world. Great video Post 10.
I use my own modified type of rake. I bought a five-fork pitchfork. When grilling I put them in the charcoal and heated them up. Then the forks bent to my liking, similar to your rake. When it comes to pitchforks, steel is better because it has to lift more weight. The finished pitchfork is screwed onto an elm stalk. I have used it very often with us in Zaragoza. Big beaver problem
Who would have thought watching a guy unclog culverts would be so fascinating ? But i can honestly say dor some reason it is. Its also relaxing and Post 10's knowledge and the way he presents things keeps you interested. Ive also f I und it has ne looking at sewer drains to make sure they are working. I’d maybe look for a blacksmith in your or one of the areas you’re in and get a rake made from entirely metal and then put a rubber sheath on the end for a handle.
Sucks about the rake they make them so cheap nowadays but they charge more I have a rake that’s probably 20 or so years old maybe older I can’t remember my mom got it when I was little

Hey guy. Have you ever thought of adapting a rake head onto an extendable aluminum paint pole. I'm sure you could attach the rake better than the factory and the extendable pole would help get to those deep clogs. You could even make another attachment that would be a push through attachment and then once your through.... Use the rake attachment for pulling out debris! Just an idea. You should make your own rake, like a 4 foot iron pry bar, forge out the end into prongs.

I leave jumpers in my car constantly. I have a hedgerow on one side of my driveway and they are always in my car or on itt. We love the lil guys

Maybe keep a cheap one at hand for lighter clearing operations and as a back up to the heavy duty one.

I have a extendable rake for drains good tool but the only trouble is the teeth bend easily im going to modify it stronger
