You know what guys sridevi was so big hearted that once rajnikanth sir fell ill and he was admitted in singapore hospital and was very serious. When sridevi got to know about it she did a 7 days pious fast for his recovery. And then she went to shirdi(place)in pune(place)at temple. And also when bonie kapoor's film was going to release that is no entry which was also the highest grossing film of that year was to be released and lots and lots of money was spent for it but a situation was created due to which everyone just thought that the film will not releases and which will be a big loss to bonie kapoor. But sridevi, what she did was that she went bare foot to sidhivinayak temple(a temple in mumbai) for making the wish that her husbands' film should release on the same date. She walked bare foot without any kind of transport and for many days and the film not only released that day but also was the highest grossing film of the year
A must watch Sridevi classic is obviously Moondram Pirai/Sadma with Kamal Haasan. For Rajinikanth, since you liked his understated performance in Thalapathi, I would recommend Mullum Malarum by Mahendran.
