    Is it possible to put the potentiometer on the polarity switch so that reverse speed is limited but forward isn't?
    Nice video, BTW, I'm definitely making mods because of this video. Thanks!

    Those lights are for a normal 12v system, and the quad 500 is 36v. Did that cause any problems or require anything special when connecting?

    • @AlexMatusov
      @AlexMatusov  Před 3 lety +1

      No problems so far and no special wiring. It does get incredibly bright, I wonder if that's from the extra power..

    Question sir, When you installed the speed adjuster, did the maximum speed increased at all? Currently without it I'm getting 9mph, what are you getting on yours?

    • @AlexMatusov
      @AlexMatusov  Před 2 lety

      No, the speed has not increased. The only way that I'm aware of getting more speed is to get a new controller and/or increase the wattage by adding more batteries (conversion to 48v).

    I have. A quick quest. How you reverse on a quad razor 500

    • @AlexMatusov
      @AlexMatusov  Před 3 lety

      You need to manually add a reverse polarity switch by tapping into two wires from the motor.

    Got one for my grandson. Can you post links to the parts/instructions for the upgrades you did?

    • @AlexMatusov
      @AlexMatusov  Před 3 lety +4

      Hey Butch - the parts are already in the description.
      As far as the instructions, it's kind of hard as I sort of figured things out on my own. I can give it a shot explaining.
      For the potentiometer speed governor, you have to locate the throttle wires (green and white) and pull them out of the bracket and do a bypass to the switch.
      Lights were a simple tap into any red and black connection. The switch is optional but if you want it run in on the red wire.
      To add reverse, you need to tap into the two wires that are coming out of the motor. Locate the bracket and remove the wires and hook in the switch. You also need to cut a hole on the top panel.
      Good luck!
      Alex

    • @AlexMatusov
      @AlexMatusov  Před 2 lety

    • @AlexMatusov

    • @AlexMatusov
      @AlexMatusov  Před 2 lety

      @@BACHATAHOLIC2003from what I understand it doesn't make it slower or faster. Instead, think of it as it applies resistance to the length of the turn of the circular switch. So for instance imagine with a 10k it takes 1 full turn to go from 0-100% with a 20k theoretically it should take 2 full turns to go from 0-100%.

    • @BACHATAHOLIC2003
      @BACHATAHOLIC2003 Před 2 lety

      I think I get it…… the top speed would remain the same but the 20k would give me even more control on choosing a speed I’m comfortable with my 2 year old
      I bought all three lol…… but I think I’ll try the 20k first
      Currently it goes around 12mph and it’s way too much for him. It’s thrown him off three times; luckily I’m always right behind him even trying things out and I caught him, nothing more than some adrenaline. When it was completely stock he loved it and I was was comfortable with him riding on his own so I just want to temporarily slow it down until he understand throttle control etc
      Thx
