What hurts my feelings about lines like that is in shows with heterosexual characters all the other supporting characters say things like that and it lets the viewers know everyone ships them and they’ll end up being canon. But because destiel is two “male” characters (since technically Cas isn’t actually a male he’s in a male vessel) it all leads up to....nothing. Just more queer baiting. It hurts my feelings how fast they would’ve gotten together had one of them been female. However, in that case the writes would’ve probably had them had sex and I like the long drawn out ROMANCE not just the sex which to me makes Destiel superior to other ships because they have more substance to me. Sorry for this rant but it really bothers me lol :)

The way I want Destiel to become canon is Dean finally realising that all the demons and angels saying Cas was in love with him and saying he was his boyfriend were all right. Cas was in love with him the whole time, but dean couldn't see it. The angels and demons did.
Last episode ends with Dean kissing Cass on the forehead. He's leans in gently and makes a small smile "no homo", he says tenderly (OK I MADE THAT AS A JOKE BUT THAT WOULD BE CUTE NGL ESPECIALLY IF THEY HUG AFTER THAT AND DEAN MAKES A LIL DEAN LAUGH)

Cas says something like "the deal is happening as we speak, it's going down" and then the camera goes back to dean who responds with "it's going down? Ok huggy bear..." this is also the episode that Jo and her mom dies in!
I don’t think Dean would ever share his feelings with Cas. He will never tell him that he loves him. Dean has been told, and it has been proven through the many seasons, that whoever Dean is *associated* with dies. People he cares about? They’ll be much higher in the list of people to kill, so why would Dean EVER say to ANYONE about the feelings he has for Cas? The fact that he’s died so many times, Dean can’t afford to have his heart and soul ripped from him AGAIN. It’s easier if Dean just pushes Cas away because it will keep him safe.
Tru and now Cas can’t confess either cause if he’s finally happy the empty will take him, he’ll probably even reject Dean if Dean confesses cause of the empty.
