I have no interest in seeing the women play in the Olympics. Only reason I’m even watching WNBA is because Caitlin Clark makes it interesting. If they had put her on the national team, I’d be watching every Olympic game.
Caitlin needs a break. She’s not a robot, she’s a 22 year old woman just out of college who has hasn’t had a break from basketball since fall of last year. You can tell she exhausted. Doing the Olympic circus right now would not be good for her regular season performance. She also turned down the 3 point competition, she needs a break. Let someone else go to the Olympics if Diana is hurt.

This might be the straw that finally breaks the WNBA's back and makes them put CC on the team. Also, anyone who has been on four Olympic teams might consider letting someone new experience the thrill and honor that she had as a rookie. This is very similar to the old QB in football who will not retire and let a younger man take over.

I think she opted out of the skills part of the All-Star game in the event that the USA team needed to scratch an injured player and call her up to participate in practices. It was a long-shot, but you don't want to give the Olympic selection committee another reason to rule you out of filling in a spot for an injured player. We all know Diana T is going to play 10 minutes a game and then let the team carry her while she rides the bench. She's not 100% and her play will reflect it in France.

Now while I agree that DT and BG should not have been on the team, I disagree that CC should have made it over other players. Her inclusion into the team at this stage will only be for a show because she does not add anything special to a team that already has SIX guards and TWO forwards who also play as guards sometimes.

I was an MJ fan during his early years in the NBA league with Bulls and the rest is History.
Never have been remotely interested in watching the WNBA until now.
I’m boycotting the women’s basketball (USA) games, this is the only way they will learn.
It’s all good. CC needs the break. Besides, half the team won’t be on the next squad in 4 years. Clark, Bueckers, Reese, Brink, and Boston I’m sure will all be on it. Not to mention a more open minded coach.
Taurasi was scared to play CC, lol. She sat out so she could blame everyone else for the loss.
Joe Biden has experience, too.
