    I found that Thong Lor and Ekkamai were neighborhoods that suited me the most. The malls are absolutely amazing; I like hitting lunch at Terminal 21. I usually get the 200 Baht card for lunch, but always end up getting money back. Thailand is simply amazing.

    Great info. Thank you. I have a few questions:
    1. What's the comparison between Bangkok vs. Jakarta?
    2. Is there a money changer inside the 7/11, or Circle K like that or a formal money changer is best?
    3. Is Uber apps working there?
    4. What's best to go between cities? Bus, train, or flying (Chiang Mai, etc or the islands, Khorabi, Koh Samui, etc).
    5. Is it worth a trip with Vietnam & Cambodia?
    Thank you so much

    • @gregjor
      @gregjor Před 5 měsíci +3

      1. Don't know how to meaningfully compare.
      2. No, go to bank or SuperRich, in many BTS/MRT stations. Or use your debit card.
      3. No, but you can use Grab for ridesharing and taxis.
      4. Flying fastest and reasonably cheap. Trains slow and don't service the islands. Buses vary from old and crowded with no A/C to luxury tour buses.
      5. Depends on what you like/want. I think Vietnam worth visiting.

    Thinking about slow travel SE Asia - if you were to split your time in SE Asia by percentage, how would you divide your time between Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia/Bali being slow travellers in your 50s & 60s? For example, 50% Thailand, 25% Vietnam, 15% Malaysia, 10% Indonesia/Bali. Would you ad the Philippines to the mix as well?

    • @GroundedLifeRetirementTravel
