I would fill the pool with water, go to the river and catch fish, keep them alive in a container of water and bring the fish back and put them in the pool. You will have fish for dinner every day and goats/sheep for meat and milk.

There seems little concern for flooding. Though probably rare, it's obvious the ledge and cliffs have been cut away by rushing water. Hopefully they remain safe as is awesome place for home.

This young man should be proud of himself. He makes so much , working with the very little he has. He is a great leader for being so young and the boys are following in his footsteps. I say this a lot and I'll say it many times again, the older boy is a very hard worker and they all observe how their elders do things. They are eager to learn.
