Thanks again 👏
If you want to recreate any of the automations that I showcase in this video in your own smart home, then check out this blog post which shows them in more detail: www.homeautomationguy.io/youtube-videos/easily-automate-your-existing-curtains-and-blinds/
nice video~
Ok so you didnt explain how to set the limiters for the zemismart up and down?
Great video. Thanks.
I m still between the Aqara and the Zemismart for the vertical blinds (may need two motors, one for tilt and another for open/close. I may go with the Zemismart after watching your video. Does it work with voice command (via nabu casa)?
One thing that I added for my horizontal blind automation is a window sensor. If the window is open and it is sunset, the blind just close partially, so I can see that the window still open and manually close it later on. When I close the window, automation kicks in and automatically closes the rest of the blind.
Thank you!
It works with voice via Nabu Casa. Pretty much any cover device in Home Assistant should work the same. Take a look at a video on Mark Watts Tech channel where he compares Aqara and Zemismart. It's a good comparison video czcams.com/video/Jbc3ARre--o/video.html
I love that window close automation, great idea!
2:50 do you have any recommendations for blinds with built-in motors that I can still connect to home assistant?
I personally have not used any, but I've heard good things about Ikea and Lutron.
I have the zemismart battery powered in tube motor blind and have it setup in homeassistant but for the life of me I cant find the battery state of the blind. Do you know how I can configure this. I see that info is available in the app for zemismart
What desk lights do you use? How are they powered too? I'd love a warm desk glow but I cannot find any good lights for AU that are completely local.
Will motor work for vertical blinds too? Tilt to open or close.
Not the one that I show in the video, but you can get specially designed ones for that kind of blind
I see you have an automation which detects sunset, how is this done as I cannot see any luminosity sensors at all?
Home Assistant has a built in Sun integration that knows when sunset is in my area
hello, I am going to ask you a stupid question.
I too live in the UK and since most us have 2 curtains on a single pole does that mean I need 2 switchbot motors?
@@HomeAutomationGuy can you sync motors to open and close both motor to sync simultaneously?
Hi Alex, i'm going to be replacing my Xiaomi smart bulbs with Zigbee ones soon via my conbee usb through ZHA. I've heard that the Phillips Hue bulbs are the brightest and dimmest. Which do you recommend?
I'm not the best person to answer that, I always look for the least bright bulbs because I prefer a lower level light. Check out a channel called "Smart Home Solver" - he does some really in depth comparison and reviews on smart bulbs which should help you find one that suits your needs
@@HomeAutomationGuy Nice! shall check them out. Also not sure why i called you Alex, thanks Alan 😅
Are you using any Switchbot bots by any chance? Wondering if these would work through the onboard Bluetooth adapter of the RPI 4 or I have to buy their hub?
I've not used any of the bots I'm afraid, so I unfortunately don't know the answer to that.
@@rkvkydqf what about the connectivity, can you use them through a regular bluetooth adapter or you have to link them through their hub?
Hi since it's been an year how's the performance of zemismart
I'm still using it! It took some time to get the blind beeded cord to be at the right tension, but once I got it right it's been flawless. I've had to charge it two times in 18 months, so the battery life is excellent too!
hello thanks for this video but does switch bot Bluetooth shows the percentage when I close it by my hand ?????? answer quickly please because API does not show it
I'm able to see the percentage that it is at in Home Assistant, but it seems to require me to refresh the page in order to update it.
Oh my god... I am going to be spending so much time watching your videos and reading your blogs! I'm building a house and want to do all the things. Goodbye money. Great content mate!
It's definitely not a cheap hobby, is it!
