Usually i dont listen dungeone synth, but im here for Elffor, the man with the chain, t he man with the axe, i know he is a professional with atmosphere.
I've been discovering Dungeon Synth recently. Of all works I've known, Elffor literally outstands as unique quality. So wonderful, so thrilling. Thank you for bringing it to us!
Of all the BM/DS outfits I have ever come across, I think Elffor has the sound that I have long been looking for even though I didn't know it.

Should Eol do a third Dra Sad album, it should be more in the vein of his metal work like with Son of the Shades, From the Throne of Hate, Unblessed Woods and his latest metal output Malkhedant while retaining the cinematic feel of his recent orchestral output in Dra Sads I and II. If anything, I would suggest calling this new album "Dra Sad III: Kaosa Iritzi." And then we can have Hildr Valkyrie on backing vocals and additional orchestrations as well as Jabo on guitar and bass and Ametsgaizto on drums -- at which point, it would be the culmination of roughly a quarter-century of darkness and unbridled atmospheric fury. But then again, Eol has perfected and mastered his craft, so I'll support the guy in whatever he chooses. ^w^
I see a strong Beksinski influence on this cover artwork. Nothing bad there... actually my alltime favorite artist so I find elements of his work everywhere.
The music gave me chills as the music of this guy always did.

Each year, around 100+ Dungeon Synth albums are published, from old and new projects alike. Usually on bandcamp and relayed on youtube. My personal observation, as a consumer, is this: the vast majority of them (~90%) are garbage. I'm not talking about opinions, taste or styles, it's just that - almost all of them are a mix of random sounds with no backbone.
Last year, Dra Sad I (Elffor's unexpected switch from Atmospheric/Medieval Black Metal to Dungeon Synth) was top 5 along Thangorodrim and a few others. This year Dra Sad II yet again shall be in top 5. Why? Because the Dungeon Synth genre is pushed around by a lot of people, but from time to time, master artists such as Elffor, Thangorodrim and Old Tower are needed to keep this genre alive. Just a personal introspection on how things are around here.

It's quit the pity there isn't more direkt mixture of Dungeon Synth and Black Metal like in The Exiled Souls. Dark Medieval Times pulled this off pretty well, but beyond that bands just can't seem to hold the balance between both styles.

Oiwa is the name of the world himself it mean ocean in the language i created for the principal city. The story is happening in a dark age era it is principally revolving around one city who's called Yonmäri (Denbora if i didn't updated it here). in really short it's about a child who's gonna become the first monotheist god in this city composed of one vast polytheist religion.

but i hope this saga of "Dra Sad" ends and do what you know how to do better; Epic Black Metal, I do not like the idea that your music is classified as "Dungeon Synth", I have nothing against this community, but you (elffor) are for more, you again (elffor) are on par with Summoning or Caladan Brood, and it would be very sad to see you finish your music in Synth dungeon.
I hope the Dra Sad era never ends, because dungeon/medieval synth is something Eol excels at, although if he wants to switch it up every once in a while with an end result like "Echoes Between Profane Woods" then I'm all for it!
I'm glad to know that he has some good fans in this dungeon synth, but since when did elffor do this kind of dungeon synth? Never, he always made Epic black metal or atmospheric black from 1998 until 2016.

Not because of the fact that it is being dungeon synth entirely in this saga of Dra Sad, it has to be cataloged as a "dungeon synth" band. Please go to another idol, elffor belongs to black metal entirely.
Well, his first, as in the very first! album he debuted with, was Into the Dark Forest (self released in 1998 - but rereleased several times), genre beeing dark/epic ambient (and a pretty damn good album at that). So by your own reasoning he should only stick to ambient? Give me a break. Let him do what he likes, making music that is, regardless of the genre.
Right! As long as he keeps making the higher energy stuff i would love to see what direction Dra Sad actually goes in. Not surprising as we should all know the roots from whence he came. All the Numen stuff was over kill. Lol. Still love it.
I wouldnt mind more mini "Dra Sad" albums in between his more faster black metal sound from his earlier albums. I enjoy his ambient dungeon synth stuff but i just dont listen to it enough. Hope he returns with some more of his usual black metal he does so incredibly well.
