@@rayking1956 Well that's one way to interpret it but I took it as Chris is saying to both his daughter and Rih that what happened wasn't part of his plan at all. He needs his daughter to understand that his past wasn't so great but she changed him for the better so please dont judge me. He doesn't want his daughter to look at his past and see this monster (that a lot saw and still see/the public) because it isn't something he is proud of but he had to move on with his life and leave it there. To rih he is saying I can't change the past but i've apologized to you over and over again and even though all is forgiven (they've both made amends since then)
it's still problematic so he's just like fuck it, I can't do shit else since he's done everything he could to show Rih and everyone else that he is remorseful so it's not necessarily
fuck Rih but more like fuck their situation, it's behind the both of them now kind of thing and he is living it up because he doesn't want to dwell on the past anymore.

I'm feel like I'm getting so many things from this song that he could be pointing. Like he says royalties name and that's pretty clear he's showing love for his daughter. Next when he says "I tried to do right but I lost my cool and I don't understand why it had to be you it git to me I let it get to me" I think that's him talking about the awful night between him and riri. Now after listening to it for about 20 times it sounds like he says I can't fight they always need a bad guy. In my mind he's talking about people and the world painting him as a bad guy because of that incident. Then he says " it feels like I ran out of time and you came along and changed my life you should me that I'm royalty" that is obviously his daughter who changed his life. Now I think he's watching his behavior and not being into any find of crazy trouble and keep his head and mind straight. Well that's my two cents what do you all think? (just my opinion) I feel like he's reminiscing his past, first verse about Ri and the incident, and of course stating that no matter what good he does its not good enough 'bringing shit up I can't fight, they always need a bad guy'. Then bringing up Ro's name as if to say she changed his life, but he doesn't want her read about his past as the media has displayed it. I also think the second verse refers to the Kae situation. I loved his album but I wish it had more of this Chris, nonetheless, it's still a great project 👍🏻

I think he’s def talking to his daughter & the entire world (or anyone who listens) during the entire song but mainly the hook. It’s almost as if he speaks from his younger perspective in the latter part of the hook when he says “give it up, but it wasn’t enough to please ya” ect.. Plus IMO, he’s def talking about Riahanna in the 1st verse. My jam tho! Might be my fav from the album. So many layers to it.
You guys are so stupids is obviously this song has nothing to do with Rihanna, he's talking about Karrueche. It doesn't make sense for him to write a song about Rihanna, much less talk about his past of domestic violence in the middle of 2015, it's obvious that he's talking about when Royalty was born and how things with Karrueche ended. He hurt her and he's talking about it. If you haven't followed the story, in 2015 Chris discovered that Royalty was his daughter, this really affected both of their emotions, Kae put an end to the relationship and he was trying to get her back. This song talks about that time, not about Rihanna or her past with her.
