A professional competitor since 2010, he gained entrance into the UFC by competing on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2. As of November 18, 2019, he is the #1 contender in the UFC light heavyweight rankings.

This has not aged well after the jones fight
I know there are bigger and more technical fighters, but this guy is the scariest dude in the mix imo. If he would collect data a bit more and use his range like Jones he would be the baddest dude on the planet.

Im a big jones fan but if we being honest Santos beat jon even with 2 bumb knees so one can only imaging if he was 100% or even 80% to 90%
@@johnscales2914 im a big Santos fan, and Jones won that fight. would have been different without the blown knees though. but Reyes 100% beat Jones. Thiago will be champ by this time next year.
@@buckfuttler2877 i am a big fan of both reyes/santos and would like to see jones dethroned. unfortunately, neither beat him which was disappointing. reyes gassed out early and jones dominated the championship rounds. thiagos game fell off when his knee was compromised after jones checked his inside leg kick and he caught an awkward recovery. still insane that he was able to continue battling on that injury. i continue to maintain the stance that both have the potential to knock jones out if they can address deficiencies.
@@ganeshramakrishnan9455 Reyes clearly won the first 3 rounds. the championship rounds thing is a myth, because the judges write down their scores after each round. they cant go back and erase their numbers from the first 3 after 4 and 5. so even then its 3-2 reyes.
@@buckfuttler2877 humbly disagree. i think round 3 could have gone either way. i would have given it to reyes but he gassed hard and started losing his capacity to counterpunch. this makes sense, since this was when the momentum shifted. rounds 4 and 5 were completely one sided in terms of points. regardless, to dethrone the champ you need a convincing win. reyes is taking it in stride and deserves a rematch, however, i am not bullish on the ufc granting him that opportunity.
