Today I am going to guide you through the weebill S setup how to correctly balance and the weebill S. I recently hold a zhiyun gimbal event, and many of the participants did not know how to setup a gimbal. I have also gotten this request on some of my other weebill S videos.
To avoid getting an unstable gimbal. You must go through the weebill s setup process to get the correct balance of your zhiyun weebill S. This process applies for nearly all gimbals.
As a longtime zhiyun gimbal user, I find the Weebill S super easy to setup. And with the quick release plate, you can leave your gimbal setup and easily pop on the camera and not worry about having to setup you weebill S gimbal again.
On all Zhiyun weebill s gimbals, there is 3 axis you have to adjust. I will walk you through the whole zhiyun gimbal setup and balancing process in this weebill S video.
As a bonus, I will show you my exact Zhiyun weebill S settings, that I use to get the smoothest gimbal footage as possible.

One of the greatest technical advice for balance and almost nobody speaks about it is to use an oil balance/ level to do the adjustments on the gimbal you have to do it on a balanced surface to get the least amount of pressure on the motors and get the smoothest experience on the gimbal

Hi Peter, I've just received my weebill S and I'm having a lot of trouble getting it to work. I'm using a Fuji XT3 and have tried both the 10-24 & 18-55 zooms. The issue is that once I've balanced the camera - no movement on any axis, the camera stays nice & still - the pan follow mode drifts to one side and then the camera tilts downwards on its own. Also in lock mode the camera won't seem to lock and moves all over the place. I've calibrated it a few times, auto tuned, rebalanced it so many times now but I'm still having issues. I also updated the FW to 2.02. If you could give me some tips or advice on what I might be doing wrong I'd really appreciate it. Your videos are very informative and I've been sat here watching them over & over trying to figure out what I've done wrong!!

Once balanced in the upright position, I found the gimbal was not quite balanced in the underslung position. I rebalanced it in that position and it did not seem to upset the upright balance.

for all the people only switching between the weebill and handheld: The Weebils base plate already comes with a quick release mechanism. Somehow it´s barely covered in all those reviews, but the little screw and silver pin at the front end of your base plate is actually letting you take your cam off and on in seconds without rebalancing!
Correct but it does not work properly. You will not be able to switch between other accessories with zhiyun's baseplate release system. There is nothing quick about that system.

Hi Peter, This video was of great help to me. This is not how some of the other videos have said to balance the pan axis. I did it the way you said and it seems to be working way better. The only thing i'm wondering is sometimes if I move in a complete circle the camera will completely turn around and face me. I was curious if it's normal or if i'm doing something wrong?

Her Soul Vacation yeah that is correct. You won't be able to use the transmitter without the hdmi cable. It will work as soon as you receive the cable.

That bare clamp (as seen at 1.47), will it accept any Manfrotto based plate or I need to use the plate provided by Zhiyun?
You can use a standard manfroto baseplate.
Just thinking about Ifootage seastar quick release...would it be very bulky for gimbals?

Bill Emmrich hi, I don't have that issue. What lens are you using. If you got IBIS, turn it off. And try to autotune.
I got that quick release plate, but it's impossible to balance with the sony a7iii + tamron 28-75 2,8F .. it sucks, but thats life I guess. Whitout the quick release plate I can balance the gimbal under 60 seconds, but it would be nice to put the camera on my manfrotto befree advanced live tripod without the struggle to change plate everytime. ( I got a smallrig and the follow focus MAX mounted aswell )
you should be able to ballance that setup with the quickrelease plate.

Your camera should be able to stay in any position when balanced correctly.
Do you think if you added the battery grip to the GH5 it would work?
It will be to high. The weight is not a problem you will have a hight issue. My S1H is too high. Its 114mm high. You will need the crane 3 lab.

No. I have shot couple of live events and I haven't had any issues with it. Loud music shouldn't effect the him as performance. You should send it back.

The cameras are simalar in size, so you shouldn't have any problems ballancing this setup. you can send me a video on FB and I will take a look at it to se if I can se what the problem is.
Please get rid of the fancy transitions of nothing and just keep it on the gimbal. You go over something but you can't see it because crazy transitions. Just do straight forward tutorial.

You could use some counter weights what camera and lens combo are you using.

@@calenaproductions763 I don't understand why you can't ballance it. I can easily ballance the gh5 with 10-25mm and I have seen others ballance it with the sigma 18-35mm + speedbooster.

No it does not. You should check out the falcam quick release plate. It is the one I use today on all of my gear.

No worries man... the video that helped me was a guy with a GoPro on his head, giving us that first person of every thing .... is there anyway you could post a video of canon m50 set up to gimbal. Not the balancing part but being plugged in and what not
I'm so freaking tired of watching video after video where they claim that when you point out it up and loosen that screw in the corner, you can "adjust" it.
They NEVER freaking show how it's being adjusted or what they are doing. You just see hands doing stuff and it makes no sense.
I loosen that screw and NOTHING happens. Nothing moves, there's nothing to adjust, it's just all locked in place with a loose screw in the corner.
Damn I'm off to watch another hundred videos until somebody finally explains this.

This one and this, more recent (czcams.com/video/XeIhHKg2P8A/video.html). In both videos you adjust the Motor and Speed Follow settings in a different ways. Since I use the same setup you're using in this video (GH5 + Leica 10-25mm), which kind of Motor and Speed Follow settings are the best in your opinion? Thanks in advance!
