If she didn’t die, I don’t think the comments here would be as compassionate. If she was still alive, we all would still be judging her. It’s sad we as a society couldn’t show her more support when she was alive. I regret judging her so much. RIP Amy ❤️
Exactly. Same with Caroline Flack.

That's the sad truth.... Unfortunately...
This is one of the most tragic things I’ve ever seen. How on earth they let her walk out on that stage is beyond me. RIP Amy ❤

The show should have been cancelled
Uh- since her fans paid 💰💰💰 for the tickets, I'm guessing the concert promoters and her manager felt obligated to send her onto the stage in the condition she was in- drunk, high/stoned nearly out of her mind. At least she was able to halfway sing a few of her lines, but not very many. Just my thoughts.

@@igorjajic6898 huh? Oh excuse us, tell us, what is Igor doing with his life?
@@igorjajic6898 You have to be a complete loser. I say that definitively because 99% of musicians respect her and most also feel her struggle with substance - I bet Igor's loser ass would need some medicine to face 80000 and talk let alone perform his heart and soul. Hahaha. And the masses alike see her as a sad case, but a spoiled brat? Prove me wrong bro, I got $500 in Bitcoin if you can make some valid points. Dipshit

Do you purposely spend time doing things that you neither enjoy or understand? Get back to me I'm serious about the Bitcoin and I really want to understand people like you. Just like I want to understand the people at the beginning of this train wreck already yelling and booing and bitching. Why are they there and why spend money if they don't even like the artist.or is it that they are that easily turned into negative douches? That apparently could do better?
This is truly unbelievable. She wasn't fit to even walk onto that stage and nobody had the balls to simply remove her to get her help. Instead, everyone sat there & watched the total demise of a beautiful young lady who would literally die within a few days. This is one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

The itching and scratching was most likely her liver failing. This is so heartbreaking to watch. She should have been taken to the hospital, not obligated to perform.

addicts scratch and itch because of the sensation being high/withdrawal has on your skin

Unfortunately there was also a lot of booing which is understandable and like others said they shouldn't have let her perform, and someone should have at least called an ambulance for her instead.
Tyler James - who was Amy’s best pal since they were teenagers - said: "She had been drinking for five days, a full-blown relapse. They had to help her on to the plane, arms around her, guiding her up the steps. We got to the Hyatt Hotel in Belgrade. Amy had no idea where she was. She wasn’t just in a bad way - sick, shaky, withdrawing - she was mostly semi-unconscious, the result of five days’ solid drinking. For eight hours, every hour, I was getting calls from management. ‘Is she all right?’ I kept saying, ‘No, she’s completely unconscious. There’s no way she can do a gig tonight'.“The day of the show, they picked Amy up off the sofa and put her in the car, I sat next to her, thinking, ‘This is so wrong.’ During the performance I was standing in the wings like I always did. This time I was crying, the performance was a disaster.
A sick girl was thrown in at the deep end and everyone watched her drown in front of their eyes. That footage went all over the world and made Amy look like nothing but a mess. I hated everyone for it. Six days before, she had been perfectly normal.
The singer of a Serbian band that also had to play in Kalemegdan Park that day, Ana Zoe Kida, says she saw how Amy Winehouse did not want to perform at all. But four bodyguards forced her. According to the singer, they dragged her up the stairs to the stage and pushed her onto the stage. 'She didn't want to perform at all. She was hysterical backstage before the show and also tried to escape. It was horrible to see.'
This breaks my heart. No matter how famous or rich you are you still can’t have people in your life that love you enough to keep you here on the planet.

I really wanted to hear her live, then I went to this concert and after the first song all I had in my mind is ''she is done'' ''she got to far'' and I know this because I was a hard user myself and I saw it in that moment that she is done. I went out, prayed for her, cried and went to sleep. month after I saw on the news Amy died....
As are former hard user and using language like “she is done” and “gone too far”??? Compassion for the addict who still suffers is what we need, not judgment calls.
Maybe English isn't their first language?!? He/she cried over Amy's state.
And believe me, we Ex-user can relate the most to what she felt.
Impact is more important than intent. And the language im pointing out is a dogwhistle for the larger idea globally: “if I did it then im an expert, and here is my analysis or moral inventory of someone I do not know.” The phrasing hints at the idea that addiction is the issue, versus trauma. And to center themselves and share about their own addiction reinforces all who read that recovery is linear. That a person is now passed addiction and can give advice, and that we can tell when someone is passed saving. Ya know, maybe people can tell, what future does a human commodity have besides being consumed or of service? But y’all saw how far gone and watched? Booed?

People tend to think that all someone ever needed was a friend or family member who cared and that would have saved them, but this isn't true. The drugs and the alcohol and need for self destruction do not care about friends and family. Speaking from personal experience with those who had spent their lives battling addiction and who lost their lives through it, I can tell you that a hug and a happy word are not the difference. When an addict hits their rock bottom you can only pray that they have enough awareness to dig their way out on their own, because if they don't acknowledge their situation and change it at that point, then it's over no matter how much love you throw their way.
Stimme 100% zu
So true. Addiction makes you less able to "feel" love because the "hit" is weaker than drugs/alcohol.
Exactly. Maybe some people could have done more, but as someone who’s seen addiction first hand, it’s sadly not as simple as just having everything you need. Some people never get out because it requires a hugely difficult and painful change.
Well said 👏🏼
The issue isn't addiction. There.
Trauma from childhood has induced life altering, mood altering and identity altering personality disorders. She was stuck. No where to go, she did the only thing she could.
This was predestined to be her life. She accepted it till the end. ❤

She looks so embarrassed. She was holding her self almost the entire time. Amy needed someone that night, but her "band mates" pretty much said the show must go on...

You can't really blame greed. One can argue that there's a bit of a duty to perform for the thousands of paying fans that showed up. She had signed contracts to perform on her own volition. She wasn't forced to do anything. She also drank herself to death on her own volition. So you can't really blame evil corporate structures for the fate of a fundamentally self-destructive person. The people who were supposed to protect and nurture her when she needed it most, did not do their jobs properly. If you have a differing opinion that’s totally ok.
This makes me cry.
Oh my God I really can't watch this. I'm shivering. Absolutely heartbreaking. R.I.P. Amy.
It really hurt me for the other guy who’s singing with her cause you obviously can tell that he knows what’s going on. Like he’s sober, he knows her, he knows that right now she’s dead drunk and high, but he also know that right now both of them are forced to perform, and you can tell that he’s trying to minimize the damage. Like he makes her dance, he tells her some stuff to encourage or to remind her some things, he sings when she’s not capable of.
Hurt a lot when you try to manage someone you like that is really high or drunk for bad personal reasons, in front of others who don’t know these reasons and won’t understand why she’s high, only judging her
He was an angel for sure ❤
"Dance monkey, dance!"
I can't watch any more of this. I was never a huge fan of her music, but I recognized her as an incredible talent. Such a shame. She was betrayed by her fans, her friends, and her family. The poor girl. RIP ❤
Where does it say that?
Yes. Everyone betrayed her. This video should be deleted. It is painful.she wrote a letter to enter her school where she writes " I want people to listen to my music and make them forget their problems for five minutes"..... and no one was there for her. Really sad. She was great and if stayed healthy no one would be ever better than her. any female singer we know today wish they have her talent.
@@BB-cz5ob what's really sad is the people booing her at this concert.
All of a sudden they don't like her because she's unable to preform.
That's not a " true fan" not in my eyes.
It's sad 😢 all the way around.
@@margcourier7434 Those people kept their side of the bargin when they bought the tickets. Wages in Serbia are a joke to westerners. Granted, the living expenses in Serbia and the tickets were cheaper too, but even if it was proportional (which it was not) - it still means fas less disposeable money once the bills are paid. She betrayed the fans, the band and herself. Talented she may have been but a junkie nevertheless and her financial success misled her into a false beleif of superiority prompting her to reject any medical advise she did not like. Addiction is an " illness".
ALOT of people surrounding " stars" don't ALWAYS have the best of intentions - it's money that's what matters to most , sadly. When you do work for a " big star" it's also not easy TELLING them " You need to do this...( Certainly you get the idea)
From what I've read she didn't accept money for this last concert..she was extremely embarrassed and went back to the
" Brirey" not certain how it's spelled but it's a hospital in/out patient in London.
Fans who knew anything about Amy Winehouse would know that anything could happen when it comes to her live performances - just Google other concerts she's done ...this wasn't her first " drunk" performance ... sadly it was pretty much the last.
RIP AMY 🙏
I’m sobbing for Amy 😭
Thank you to whom recorded this. I believe you could have done something 🙏
I just watched the documentary about her life and struggles with addiction. I think people see how bad this is but they don’t truly UNDERSTAND how bad this is. The 3-4 months before this, Amy had been really great with being sober and she didn’t want to go back on tour because she knew she was going to fall back into her old ways. The day before this, she drank herself away out of sadness (about going back on tour) and slept so heavily that her managers put her in the car and took her all the way to the airport before she woke up. When she woke up she was basically on her way to Belgrade. She was VERY drunk in this performance. No heroin, no crack, no other drugs, just alcohol. She was using alcohol to supplement for the drugs she was staying away from. Her best friend actually attempted to steal her passport so she couldn’t travel, but she was stopped by Amy’s managers. It really is sad how the managers cared more about the money than Amy’s health
Whats the name of the documentary?
@@roeni8475 There are a few out there but I either watched it on Hulu or Prime and I believe it was called Amy
Nah, she acts like someone on drugs, alcohol doesn't do that. Still, her team shouldn't have allowed her to go on tour, they knew she needed treatment...
@@TheStepmonkeyjust alcohol
Alcohol most definitely can do that to a person @thestepmonkey I’ve seen it first hand…even worse than that.
Reminder that Amy did NOT want to do this show.
Her father put her on a plane unconscious, once there she tried to drink to have it called off.
Remember that everytime you see "The Amy Winehouse Foundation".
Rip you mesmerizing talent.
With respect that is what would be called in court hearsay.

Thank you for putting this out there. I read about this in her best friend's book.
@@basketcase297 respectfully you are the one that believed the fact that her “friend” said Amy told her along the lines of “it’s boring without drugs” and you didn’t call that an hear say? Were you also there when she said that? Won’t you also call that an hear say? Come on now
Heartbreaking. I miss her ❤
That was so sweet of the background singer to try and make amy feel comfortable, he truly did try to help her on that stage
It breaks my heart every time I think of Amy Winehouse. I’m an alcoholic (trying to recover) and I suffered from bulimia for ten years (still trying to recover) I know it seems easy to just think or say “just stop drinking” and “just eat right” but mentally it destroys you constantly. That’s why you need something to fill that pain. And again, I know, “try meditation or mindfulness” which I do. But it can only do so much in everyday life.
People (normies) dont understand addiction or illness. We are some of the most sensitive souls. That's why we become this way. But it's also the loneliest feeling in the world.
Kevin Lytvak I completely agree. All you want to do is give and love and understand one another. That is myself anyway, but I agree that having an addiction or having addictions can make you so lonely because its so isolating, but sometimes it’s maybe all you know or you’ve tried recovering in the past, which I have, I’ve experienced being sober and it’s awesome but you have that grasp on you to fall back.
Thank you so much for replying, I really appreciate it.
Kevin Lytvak but I agree also with having sensitive souls. And how it makes us how we are because we just, I guess, numb the emotions and feelings. And we take in a lot more emotions than what normal people do. And we translate it differently.
Courtney Spencer I’m an ex heroin addict (7 years sober) and I still struggle with alcoholism. I also suffered from ED and bulimia. I completely understand how hard it can be. But I also made the choice to get clean and did what I needed to to not end up dead in my home just like Amy. It was the hardest thing I ever did but I am a strong fucking person. Yes addiction is hard. But it is also something you CAN conquer. You are strong and you are able.
I've been sober 20 years. It's super hard. But when I think of going back I look at things like this and thank God I have my life and loved ones not using me as a personal ATM machine. Keep coming back your worth it!
She knew ... somehow she knew.
Of course, she planned it!
@@MC-cm7zx I don't think she did, since she once expressed that she was afraid of dying at that age.

After learning that was her grandmother tatted on her arm, it explains why she constantly grabbed that right arm. She needed her grandmother. She missed her dearly and was very heartbroken.
😂😂 oh my god.
Hahaha.
She grabbed her arm because she needed something to hold on to otherwise she would fall of the earth 😆
Sorry but grandma ain’t responsible for that hot mess. Just a junky

This performance just breaks my heart every time because instead of canceling the show .They had her up there knowing she wasn't in her right state of mind to perform.. Amy Winehouse was nothing more than just a beautiful young woman with an amazing voice. And I will forever miss her and continue to listen to her music
an amazing voice and NO brains in her head...
Hollywood deals and record labels
in Belgrade theres just problems with not respecting artists properly when they're meant to go on stage. im really sorry that my people and my city contributed to this
Heart wrenching. What a talent the world lost. Rip Amy. You were amazing.
I love you Amy, and I miss you, forever.
Don't be too hard on her. She wasn't well, management should have seen this. This was part of her funeral. It's her final official concert, Belgrade, Serbia, June 18 2011 ...Died a month later, July 23, 2011, Camden Town, London, UK ...Last words before she died, "I would give it back". Give it all back for love. She had all the talent in the world but not enough love to save her. Her life is a story of tragedy. Peace Amy.
I’ve seen her face a few times but I never knew her name or anything about her until people started comparing the way post Malone is acting to her last performances so I decided to check her out. And now I’m crying even though I have no idea what’s going on but you can literally see her breaking and it’s not fair. I don’t understand why not one person in that big crown didn’t grow a pair and try to help her.

I can’t believe it’s been this long. She was an absolute gem of a singer/musician/performer
I can barely stomach this over ten years later. I remember when this video went viral...I cried my eyes out because I just had a gut feeling my favorite artist wasn't long for this world after seeing this. How they let her go out like this is beyond me..... Her sadness is palpable, but trying to cover it up and perform like a wind up doll. You can tell she felt safe with her band members. It was always my goal to see her perform..... Still miss her and still scream loudly to the lyrics to her songs in my car when I need to let my feelings out. Thank you Amy for all you did, practically gave her life to entertain. Gone too soon

Why did no one cancel this immediately and send her straight to rehab? She was so, so sick. Respect to the band and the the singers who backed her up. They could not take the decision to stop the show. It must have been very tough for them. And poor Amy... I guess she never found that one person that can love you enough to help you go on the right path.
Took too long to get her off stage if you want my opinion
@@emilycheek3077 I'm sure Dad and management kept saying no when people were asking for her to get taken off stage
Idk. They saw she can’t perform, but they just played music to push her sing in this condition. Abusing a drunk human no respect
I mean they made a decision to make their job done and get money instead of support Amy and go against her manager or else who wanted to get money out of Amy
@@emilycheek3077 surely, this concert was scheduled by Amy's management. if the artist was 40 minutes on stage, the organising party couldn't raise a claim to get a refund of the artist's fee. Amy was not stupid, she knew she had contract obligations. Poor dear humble soul... The management did the same to Whitney. Pure greed of recording labels, and crucified artists: need rehab - sorry, no, you have a contract. those who managed to take their own catalogues out of the hands of the labels like Mercury, MJ, George Michael and Prince died too soon (murdered?). the families/descendants posthumously fight for the rights to the heritage of their talented latter ones...
The ‘fans’ who booed at her should look back on this performance and be so ashamed of themselves, surely they could tell that Amy was going in a downwards spiral and yet they chose to show no support or love for her in a time where she needed the love desperately, it’s so painful to watch this performance, I never knew a lot abt Amy, but I grew up listening to her and seeing her so ‘out of her mind’ (I don’t mean this in a rude way) is genuinely heartbreaking, it’s my first time watching this performance and the amount of sadness I feel for her is currently making me bawl.
You were a wonderful woman Amy, with a truly inspiring voice, the world didn’t deserve you or your talent, may you rest easy sweet girl 🙁❤️
I love how corporate still got away with technical murder. They milked her dry, enabled her addiction and still made her work. All those suits are still walking free and living off of her voice. We should be doing something but all we do is just say prayers. No lawsuits, no jail time for those around her, nothing. We literally have become sheeps.
These lyrics brought up so many painful memories for her, and quite frankly she was just tired of bringing that pain up for so many years to belt out these songs, and it was wearing her down. She wanted to move on from it and do something different and fresh. She got as possible drunk on purpose to try and avoid preforming but was still forced to do so, which must have been infuriating and she must have just felt her life was just out of her own control at this point and wanted to escape! God bless her soul, I hope shes resting peacefully.
She wasn’t forced to perform - many times her family told her not to go on - watch the new bbc doc
