Finally you will find someone, that wont do these things to you. I have just broken up with my ex after 3 years, I am only 19 years old now, but for me he was the one.. But he cheated and lied to me, i kept crying and I could not look at myself.. I felt used and lied to. I felt so insecure.. But one day i said to myself look girl fuck him, if he wants to be like this let him be like that! You deserve better, and everyday I keep saying that to myself.. It really helps.. YOU ARE WORTH MORE. I know it is harder for you, because you have kids, but dont they deserve someone that loves their mom to? Ofcourse.

My ex / first love, made me believe he was straight for 4 months. Made me think we had this secret relationship which was so exciting to me. New Year's Eve he MESSAGES me saying "I'm back with my ex never talk to me again" to which my reply was "no worries, thanks for everything!" (It would never of worked out) the next day he sends me this LONGEST message turns out he has been out for 10 years, the reason why he text me about his ex was because they slept together on Christmas Day until New Years! Stupidly I accepted him back because love is blind a year later he tells me that he loves me but wants to sleep with other people oh and that he has already slept with 3 people since being with me... heart broken I was.. you think you know someone.. I'm on the other side now!

Girl after watching this video through a second time when i'm in a bit of a slump about my ex boyfriend it's literally picked me up and i feel great again like I never deserved how he treated me. like going to get deep here but one of my close family members sadly passed away and he was the first person i called and he didn't come running to my side even when i was crying telling him i needed him there. I've been split from him for 4 months now and every so often i get those days where i feel a bit rubbish but this video has helped and I do tell myself that i deserve better and i deserve someone who treats me like a princess. The "I don't want you right now" is so horrifyingly dreadful.
I'm just coming out of that now. "If this were five years time, I'd marry you". Yeah but it's not 5 years time. It's now. It's all such bullshit. It's also the exact same with him running back to me. Everyone saying "he'll come back". I don't bloody want him back, I want his good parts & the great times we had together. I don't want him as he is now.
I'm in a similar place with being alone. I don't want to be alone but I know that I NEED to be alone.
It's so nice to have someone else who's gone through this. It's great that someone else has come out the other end.

This speaks so so strongly, and has made me realise things that I haven't even thought about. I keep starting a new relationship and thinking I need a guy in my life. But like you have said, how can I be with someone else when I'm still so broken from a toxic relationship. And it’s like I feel like I need to be in a relationship because everyone else seems to be. I feel like I wasted over 3 years on this person and wish that I walked from him the first time instead of keep going back. And it’s like people expect me to be okay because it’s been awhile since the breakup. It makes it harder because he doesn’t leave me alone still, and tries to have the control over me by numerous phone calls, messaging my friends and trying to get me back.
However, walking from him is the best thing I could do because I was so unhappy over the years I was with him, feeling like he is my worth and deserved to be treated badly. But watching this has made me realise that a toxic relationship isn’t worth it, because it'll be full of pain when it shouldn’t be. Someone who cheats for half the relationship, and so controlling, abusive and manipulative isn’t love. It makes me think, I never did anything to deserve that from him. I can’t get with someone else and give them all my love until I learn how to love myself instead of keep rebounding from guys and having to rely on them to make me feel good about myself.
I’ve watched this video a few times straight and it still makes me cry, because it’s so truthful. It’s made me realise that I need to start putting me first, and stop chasing guys who don’t want me because they gave me a little attention that made me feel good temporarily expecting them to fix my broken heart. I'm only 20, this video has shown me I have plenty of time to work on myself and find someone who treats me right.

Can't believe you hearted my comment how sweet! I was in a controlling and verbally abusive relationship, and finally I pulled the plugged two months ago. It has been the hardest thing I've done in my life, to let someone you love go, because you know they just aren't good for you.

This is the video that really changed my life almost 3 years ago - after watching this I was single for 2 years and, even after I've recently come out of an AWFUL 8 month relationship, ive still come back to remind myself of it.
I grew so so much in those 2 years and learned what I will and won't compromise on. Although I recently started to compromise that FOR that relationship, the imbalance of compromise is why it had to end. Because of imogen, I refuse to put a cap on the love I will give. I absolutely ABSOLUTELY refuse to stop loving people with my full capacity, even if it scares them. It's the primary thing for me to LOVE, and even though it might not be the same for other people, I will never ever give up on that.
I will protect my heart forever but I will also ALWAYS never NEVER put a cap on it.
I waited 24 years and my first ever relationship is everything you've described from 31:19. he's my team-member, my partner in crime, my "rock" as cringe as it is to say, and my best friend. I've never been this happy and I think it's proof that there's no need to get into a relationship "early" or anything like that. I have friends who are marrying their first love from the age of 14, so i'm not saying wait this long, but I just feel that myself and these girls who I've just mentioned are perfect examples that love comes to everyone at different stages. don't feel pressured into anything until, as you say, your gut says yes.

I also know how it feels to “beg” for someone. It’s the lowest, most vulnerable point anyone can get to. I really admire your mindset about this and i really admire your strength. When u said 90%of u wanted to go back to ur ex and only 10% didn't that struck home for me. This video has literally saved me during the heart break im facing right now. Ive spent so long chasing someone who no longer wants me. Being told that someone doesnt love you anymore is the hardest and really hurts. Being made out to be the biggest problem because of my mental health really makes me feel worthless. New subbie! I just want to say thank you for making this video, 2 months ago I had my heart broken over the phone by a boy I was with for 4 years and I am battling every day to heal myself. There was absolutely no inkling of how he was feeling in the build up to it, he just picked up the phone one day and told me he didn't love me anymore and we haven't spoken since. He was my best friend in the whole world, we were so in love. I dream about him every night, I can spend hours upon hours crying over our memories together, but day by day things are getting a little bit easier to deal with and this video has really helped me. As a young woman it's so nice to hear how happy girls my age are being single and that it's not all about finding "the one". I've found a love for myself in this journey that I didn't know existed, and I'm feeling that love bloom day by day. OH MY GOD Imogen, I experienced something very similar to what you went through with Ryan & Liam. My first love was so real and so strong but he walked away at the drop of a dime. It was truly horrible and I understand what you mean. Being left is deeply scarring. For me it landed me in therapy and I even based my original blog on it. But I also met my rebound relationship 7 days later. I, like you also had to find a way to fill that void. Somehow we're still together today, 2 years later but it's probably the healthiest relationship I've ever been in. Definitely not perfect by any means but healthy for sure :). LOVE YOU XX
