- In this video I go through all of AQA waves for use as A Level Physics revision. This video is not only vitally important for preparing for your exam but it also has essential information for use as an introduction to A Level Physics.
I recap progressive and stationary waves, transverse and longitudinal waves, and mechanical and electromagnetic waves. There are properties of waves you need to know about including; wavelength, frequency, speed, amplitude and time period. There also different wave phenomena you need to understand including; reflection, refraction, diffraction, polarisation, interference, coherence, path difference and total internal reflection.
Don't forget to subscribe on CZcams and also sign up to my A Level website to find hundreds more videos.
Thanks for watching,
Lewis

Seriously thank you so so much, this was extremely helpful! Could you make some on other aqa a level physics topics? Thanks again!

life saver - basically learnt a whole topic in 30 mins before my exam
i beg you someone tell me why lewis has taught me better than most my teachers in a single video
Excellent summary, thanks.
A couple of small points to note (for those that study OCR certainly) when he says the antinode is the place of maximum displacement be careful of how you define antinode in an exam. Better to say the antinode is the where the particles experience a maximum amplitude or the place where the maximum displacement is maximum. All points between nodes will displace to a maximum displacement, but the amplitude varies to a maximum at the anti node.
Second point is where he mentions coherent waves when begining on interference/diffraction. He says they are coherrant because they are in phase, that could be misunderstood as a valid definition of coherent. The bit he says after is actually what makes them coherent - they have a constant phase relationship. The amplitude being similar is not relevant to coherency (but is relevant to the diffraction pattern produced).
Otherwise an excellent an excellent account!
i was struggling to find a full, comprehensive guide on the subject, this is exactly what i needed, thank you! :D
Well,I have to say this was the most concise video on yt about waves.
Very useful!! Best use of my time on CZcams ever :)
Watching this after finding about your channel on a crowdcast physicsinaction lecture , this is awesome stuff!!!
You are a lifesafer Lewis! THANK YOU SO MUCH! You just cleared up a topic I had such a hard time understanding. Wish you the best
Thank you so much for doing full topic videos!
Thank you soooooo much for helping me revised a lot in wave chapter, I might feel more confidence during my first mock
Thank you sir!
You made me love waves.
anyone else watching this with 5 days left
I’m watching this with 1 day left lol
THANK YOU, This is rhe chapter ive been delaying doing
I build LEGO as a hobby so seeing the little brick made examples makes revising so much more bearable :)
Thanks for the video!
Good job you can tell he takes pride in his videos
Please could you do a video measurements and their errors? We’ve missed the estimation of physical quantities bit (orders of magnitude etc) and having all of the uncertainties stuff would be great. I really like these videos
Brilliant video sir, you condensed the information, making it much easier to assimilate. Better than my bloody teacher.
Please do this for electricity this was amazing
pls boss 2 days
@@mykeehed5096 two years later, how did the exam go?
@@sameerrahman3767 hahaha B which is fine would have liked an A though
@@mykeehed5096 I’m failing physics and this man is helping so much but I don’t think imma get anything better than a D🥲
@@sameerrahman3767 hows it going so far
Incredibly helpful and engaging right the way through. I've only got a few months left before my exams and my biggest regret was not purchasing the resources on the website earlier! I'm definitely going to be letting my younger brother know about it, as he's starting his A-Level course in September! Thanks again.
Glad it helped!
So useful. Explained it perfectly thank you 🙏
Watching this to prepare for year 12. Not going to lie, a bit scared. 😬
You’re not the only one, but it’s going to be alright!
Even worse now that we didnt get the second half of y12
@@TheeAcid lmaoo
@@TheeAcid Dead😂 Just starting waves today
i shoulda prepared myself for this.
mocks for my predicted grade for next year monday thanks for this nice recap
Really appreciate your work and i loved it that you are literally saving students from dying in their exam halls while doing waves , I had a favour to ask , that is can you please give me a pdf of scanned copy of this chart or any other charts you've made earlier , that would help a lot ! thanks !!!
i have test on wave comming up. it really helped. thank you
Another excellent vid. Thanks.
Amazing thank u very much for real you are better than text books and teachers I have watched it like 4 times
This is an unbelievably good video please can you do one for particles of light
Please could you do a revision video like this for Mechanics and electricity
Already planned!
THANKYOU SO MUCH!!!
Great video, really well explained👍
Thank you so much!
thank you so much!!
This was amazing! Please can you do an electricity one?
This was pretty damn good thnxs
time to do some pre-emptive studying before going into college!
Hello and thank you for all of your videos thus far, but would you be able to make an even higher level physics course???
Ones that cover the wave equations as well as the calculus based portions of physics. That would be awesome.
God Bless you sir!
My right ear enjoyed this
Great video as always sir doe!
Both my ears hear it r ur headphones ok?
This was so useful! Please do this for electricity, mechanics and materials
I will, I promise!
Love your video's, super helpful. Could you possibly do one for AQA a level Particles?
Ur a life saver
Thanks!!!
thank you soooooooooo much
More vids like this plz
Hi Sir,
Will you be doing a revision video on y12 aqa particle physics?
Many thanks for your informative revision videos
thank you for making this video is it suitable for edexcel?
Please do this for other topics!
Could u do this on quarks and particle duality pls
It can also be called "velocity = freq x Lambda" referring to the velocity of the wave!
Thanks. It's not complicated but it is a lot to take in. 😅
You're welcome!
Cheers mate
Can you possibly make another one of these videos on other topics because I find them so useful
Of course!
Physics Online thank you☺️
god send mate
im in yr 8 right now but im revising for gcse im a bit scared but this helped alot with the topic that i am learning
Omg you're only Yr 8 and you're watching an a level physics video? Haha don't worry you have loads of time to prepare. My brother is in Yr 8 and he spends all of his time playing games, he's not even thinking about gcses yet I wouldn't worry. I've got a waves test tomorrow and I'm doing some late night revision just before so if you're revising this early I have no doubt you're gonna do fine :)
BRO YEAR 8??? U sound like a super devoted kid~ I wasn't even thinking about gcse's back then
@Daniel woahh GOOD LUCK BRO! Dw you'll great!
When will the ocrb version be put?
can you do this for edexcel ?
Thanks! i have my a-level exam in 4 hours so v helpful!
Same
@@alt5109 good luck!! youre gonna do great!!
@@ninajoyce9906 you too
Can back from my exam and this topic was its own question in the 2022 exam thank you
@@alt5109 outrageous! ha how did u find it?
Amazing videos especially these summary ones, please can you do other topics as well
More will be added!
Hi! Is the content taught here similar to CIE A-level physics? Thanks so much btw!
More video's like these
Thanks for making this video.
What about polarization especially on microwaves. The quite tricky this is because. I don't but are they partially plane polarized when they are emitted from the transmitter.
They come out of the transmitter polarised
thanks alot man, hold up im just gonna go on my roof and turn the aerial, brb;)
Will this work for Edexcel IAL?
are you doing one on fields ? that would be so useful!
his fields ones are A2 so youll have to pay for a subscription (well worth it) but if not try Science Shorts on youtube
legend
Does this work for OCR spec as well?
God Bless man , God Bless ❤️🔥
yo bro i know u bro u fight me
yo bro i know u bro u fight me
Can you do fields, like all the fields topics
Are you doing any ocr videos before 20th may?
Revising for my year 12 mocks in 2023.
Do you have or know something like this for chemistry and maths?
Woah this video helped out my mandem in sixth form cause they actually went to sixth form in 2021 LMAOOOOOO imagine not going to college so you have to do A level physics. But this video must have been really helpful cause my smart mate recommended it to my less smart mate who said hes gonna give it a watch tommorow cause they want to pass sixth form physics as it is totally helpful for them in life
Begging it
To reduce pulse broadening cant we reduce the critical angle
My question is why in single slit you get a central maxima and interference in the first place does it reflect back and produce a stationary wave?
U just gotta accept it XD
22:22 Sir, why is that distance lander?
Why would there be interference when there is only one slit (one source of light) ?
I don't quite understand this
Do you make any of these for full A2 content, I have checked your CZcams channel and the premium videos, I cannot seem to find any.
I'm afraid I don't have them yet for the A2 content.
Hello sir,how can I find the As physics.
Does this work for cie?
This is for 9702 right ???
Did this guy do the talk at Warwick uni??
I did!
The lego diagrams came in clutch

at 1:29 you say on the y axis and then you go on to put write x
