  • The original title of this video was going to be 'Claire Thinks We are Cursed' because Sunday Night through to Monday was exhausting.
We had a great weekend though, the girls went shopping while I spent some time with the boys and at one point I created a Blacklight for Emily so she could see if her clothes were Neon ahead of a glow party she went to. Her friends thought it was awesome and want to make their own!
Aside from that, after convincing Claire we weren't cursed, my run of being meat free came to an end...

Looking good mate, that meat free diet makes you look years younger.

Nothing in this world would stop me from eating meat

I'm interested to find out why you wanted to go without meet for one year? Did you plan to continue to do it past the year mark? I've technically been vegetarian for a year and a half however around 6 months in I ended up in refuge and relying on food banks. At this point as much as ethically I really didn't want to eat meet i eventually made the decision to eat everything the food bank gave me including some meet products. I decided the need to eat had to outweigh my ethical decision to avoid meet. As soon as I got back on my feet I went back to not eating meet. Yes I felt bad but ultimately in the grand scheme of things it really wasn't the end of the world. One mistake of unknowingly eating meat doesn't invalidate all the time you spent not eating it and the best way to "make up for it" is to carry on as you were and not let it stop you continuing (but perhaps open your sandwich and check before you Tuck in next time 😂). This has turned into a huge ramble when all I actually wanted to say was don't beat yourself up and don't let it stop you continuing to be vegetarian😊

I was just looking forward to saying i'd kept at it for a year, not that it has been a challenge to be honest. Its when people ask me how long it has been and I realise it has been a long amount of time surprises me. I will be checking my food more often now! Sorry to hear about your time in the refuge, you're right that health has to come first! I'd do the same.

@@SheepdogSays ah OK that makes sense I wasn't sure if you were just doing it as a year long challenge or if you'd actually decided to become vegetarian as a life choice.

Life choice now. I’m just used to it.

Pretty sure pesto isn't vegetarian as it has parmesan in using rennet. But yes intention was there, they should have taken it more seriously, what if you had an allergy?

Ah ffs haha. This place can’t do vegetarian food properly at all.

@@SheepdogSays you can get vegan pesto but doubt they have, it's not widely known about pesto or parmesan I guess, bet you get it offered on veggie pasta in Italian places

I mean did you go vegetarian on purpose or did it just kinda happen and if you did it on purpose your more resilient then me if it was just a thing that happened then will you continue the vegetarian thing i mean i can't live without chicken

    • @SheepdogSays

I stopped eating chicken and fish on purpose then realised I hadn’t eaten any other meat for weeks so decided to go all in. I’m sticking to it now unless mean sandwich makers stitch me up again.

@@SheepdogSays fair enough man i can respect that but i don't think I could do it i love chicken and bacon far too much fir that it may kill me although i can live without fish

Chicken unsettled me a bit because it’s so cheap. Imagine having a pet chicken from Chick to whatever age they become big enough for a roast dinner. You’d have to spend more than £3 keeping it alive. But tesco sell a whole cooked chicken for that much. Pork etc are a little more expensive etc so it was less of a concern.

@@SheepdogSays thats true it is rather screwed up but i don't think id be able to give it up that being said i do think they should charge more to compensate the truth is though most of thoose chicks are born specifically for consumption which now that i think about it is even more fucked up

Yeah that’s right they are and I always made that point to Claire that it’s not the same as eating a wild free thing. Other meats don’t seem as gross as chicken seems heh
