Sailor Moon SuperS English Dub Intro (VHS Cut)

- this is the dub intro that was used for the dub of Sailor Moon SuperS. this appears on the VHS cut version of the series and is not the same as the movie version. I don't see this around at all, so this is kind of rare.

it's funny in retrospect how Pioneer just slapped the DIC intro theme over the Japanese visuals and called it a day. At least they included the original Japanese theme in the dvds.
This is the absolute most unprofessional thing they slapped together…thank you for showing us this though!

This is the closest I can find to being the same version of the song that was played here on Australian TV. From the start, right up to the English title is different as the version we used to see had the same intro that the other videos that are up. I can't find that intro anywhere, except that I have about half of it somewhere on tape, so I know for sure that it's a real thing

Does SS stand for "Super Super" or "Super Soldiers" or what????
The season is called Supers (stylized as SuperS), it's just one full word, the plural of the word "super" and it's a reference to the rest of the Sailor Guardians reaching that level of power. It's shown with the 2 capital S as it was originally going to be called "Sailor Moon SS" (short for supers), the original logo was presented by Naoko on the 10th volume of the manga and some early merchandise like the Sailor Moon SuperS (SS) in Paris CD, however this was changed because people took notice that the SS could be misinterpreted in a very wrong way by some as in a reference to Hitler's nazi police, with Sailor Moon already being shown in Asia, across Europe and with plans to arrive to the Americas soon, there was too much to risk with a misunderstanding, so it was decided to use the full word instead, Supers. However because the other 2 seasons had letters that meant something R (return/romance) and S (super) a lot of people made the mistake of misspelling it as Super S or even Super "S", as if the second S had another meaning, a lot of dumb fake theories surfaced about what that second S meant, when in fact is just one full word.

They seemed to have made heaps of different openings that are all slightly different! The start of this is different to the Australia aired version, but uses the same English logo? It's very confusing

I think ill open up those vhs then, i havent watched mines i just bought it lol.
tut tut tut...im very unhappy with this and the S vhs opening as well. both of them are so...so unprofesional BUT one thing i must say is that i REALLY like that logo that they made! it looks really good and should have been used in the dvd release or something i sure hope that its used in a fandub, its fantastic!
