There's been a few games that implies that there's at least something to the two being an item. Sonic Advance 3 calls them something like "cute couple" I forget the exact wording but it's a pretty official take on the ship (even if Sonic in the game doesn't seem entirely ok about it. Hey, if the company that owns you ship it, what do? ), Sonic Unleashed gives the player the option to have sonic go on a date with Amy post game, Sonic and the Black Knight states that Sonic and Amy were on a date prior to being summoned I believe... I believe there was also something about it during the twitter take over thing that suggests Sonic may have strong feelings for Amy. Hard to say how canon that is though lol.
@BlueLegend1991 Doesn't Yuji Naka no longer work at Sega or at the very least no longer works on the Sonic franchise? I don't think his word on the series means a whole lot any more. Granted, I'm pretty sure SonAmy will never be 100% outright confirmed regardless. At most I think we'll only ever get ship tease outta the series and I don't think Sega really likes the idea of Sonic settling down with anyone (I wanna say they told Archie or something that they couldn't have any more shipping in the comics ), but that all is beside the point. Sega at the very least seems fairly ok with ship teasing SonAmy as of recent. Rather anything ever comes of it will probably forever be left to fanon but I don't see anything really wrong with that.
@BlueLegend1991 I know that Naka is one of Sonic's creators. that literally has no bearing on anything that I said. Sonic's Sega's series. If they ever decided to make SonAmy a thing (which I highly doubt they'd ever make it official mind you. SonAmy happening is kinda unnecessary when everything's all said and done ) then they very well could regardless of anything that Naka has said in the past, especially since if I'm not mistaking, he no longer even works on the series.
@BlueLegend1991 I mean, even Sonic himself (or rather his current va lol ) asks rather or not the going ons in those silly twitter takeover things was canon and while probably not, it seems like anything said or done during them was with Sega's blessings. They reference Sega's lawyers when Shadow tries to curse so I'd imagine nothing said or done during them went against anything Sega desires. That, or it was just a joke (probably a joke )
That said, SonAmy will probably never officially be canon. I think we both agree on that. However, this doesn't mean that there aren't moments of shiptease and both unleashed and Sonic and the Black Knight reference Sonic and Amy going on a date if I'm not mistaking. Not to mention Advance 3 calling the team up "cute couple" or something to that effect. They may not be canon... But I don't think the folks in charge hate the idea either. And lets be fair, They're closer to being canon then a lot of ships I've seen in various media. (Hell of a lot closer than the popular "Phoenix/Edgeworth" ship in the ace attorney fandom, to be sure. ) For the record, not trying to cause a heated argument or anything

Silver does not suck, he is a really great character with a lot of personality. Plus Silver is underrated, he has a great story and redemption arc in 06. Plus his powers are really cool and unique. He has so much potential and if they took advantage of Silver's character and then make it right in thr later games then Silver will get the respect he deserves. So Amy, Silver doesn't suck, he is a good option
