For the nerds who want to find out how this CV sniping magic works, read on:
There are two key components that make Indomitable so great at sniping CV in this video. Those are Indomitable herself, and the gamemode of Ranked.
Ranked means that maps are smaller (meaning travel time for Indomitable's already ludicrously fast planes are even shorter), ships per side are less (meaning there are more gaps in the enemy lines to snipe the CV) and most importantly, it is GUARANTEED Tier 8, meaning you can pen nearly every CV deck with your carpet bombers.
Indomitable is a ship too many people sleep on because no one actually plays it. The things that make Indomitable great for CV sniping lies in the concept of carpet bombing itself- carpet bombing is designed to destroy a target not through accuracy, but the intense saturation of a target. However, Indomitable has the smallest and roundest carpet bomb reticle, meaning all those bombs that were supposed to miss or shatter are dealing 100% damage to the huge, unprotected CV deck.
Combine that with Indomitable's ludicrous speed and infinite engine boost with Last Gasp, and you get a CV that can strike enemy CVs with impunity due to its ridiculous plane HP, cannot be locked on by fighters fast enough because of it's speed, and can have a strike twice a minute because of both slingshot and 234 kn. Since each of these strikes are immensely accurate because of a CV's unprotected target profile, these can stack up 16k-8k damage per strike depending on saturation. Twice a minute.
And the enemy CV can do nothing to stop Indomitable. Fighters don't work, because the planes are too fast. AA doesn't work, because the planes are too tanky. Dodging doesn't work, because Indomitable's carpet bomber reticle is quite round and undodgeable. Hell, trying to retaliate with bombing doesn't even work because Indomitable has an armored deck that shatters HE bombs and prevents AP bombs from getting citadels.
CV sniping with Indomitable in Ranked is the closest you will get to T-Posing an enemy CV in this game.

really wish indomitable got a buff. nothing insane, but more fire chance and pen on the bombs (so you can actually deal with bbs, the fire chance isn't enough considering fire prevention and all the other stuff exist), and a buff to the terrible rockets so they are at least usable. either more rocket dmg or increase the rocket quantity. Neither would make the ship OP imo, since you are less alpha based and more DoT based. Sure, it's technically balanced right now, but it could use slight buffs to what I mentioned above would make it more competitive and fun IMO.

anybody wondering, Indomitable is the only cv in the entire game that still has the ability to use the infamous Slingshot Technick. So if you are new to the game, buy this CV and does not know, you gonna have a bad time, older players that does not read nor search is going to have a bad time, all in all it's a skill check CV

@@MrATL90 when you start a drop your planes become invincible, someone figured out that you could use that to pass over the flaks, then drop, so you would start a drop really far away, then drop, then start another one and drop full squad :D

Is slingshot working ok since the rework ? And suggested captain skills please (17 pointer), I just got indom and was not impressed as planes seem less durable than implac's and slingshot doesn't seem to be working ?. Played countless co-ops trying to get to grips with it and only played 1 bottom tier random thus far (3 kills and a win), very interesting to see where you aim especially rockets (just above target).
Slingshot has been removed and is no longer in the game for all CVs EXCEPT Indomitable. Slingshotting is simply the ability to make an attack right after a previous one, negating some portion of a ship's AA. What you want is the Last Gasp skill, as it is skill that works better with Indom than any other CV in the game, to the point that it is abusable (just slingshot ur bomber squad and you ahae free engine boost refill). It is possible, but slightly harder. Where I aim rockets is not where I actually aim, it is a replay bug which makes it look like it is slightly above.
My build for a 21 skill point captain would be LG, AS , IE, PGL, DE, AA, SE and BFC for a 19 pt purpose built Indom captain.
Thanks Puff, I knew indom was the only slingshot ship but it doesn’t appear to slingshot (after an attack), but your last gasp would indeed boost it, probably making it more pronounce. I also have Kaga, implacable, Lexington, Ark and Eric, all these were easy to set up captain wise but indom is unique your captain build will help thanks, I’m also considered putting Cunningham into it (16 pointer), my Brit 19 pointers are elsewhere, only Kaga has a 19 point skipper.
@@BigBritinUK Usually people don't bother to make a Indom-specific captian, many people just use their Audacious captain as INdom doesn't really need many skill points to function properly.
I don’t have audacious and indom doesn’t have all 3 plane types, I’ve tinkered with all available skills and have to say sight stablization is a huge help.

How can you skip the carpet bombing animation
Recently in the update, you were allowed to skip the animation after the attack by clicking twice. See in the bottom of the screen, where it says "Press LMB to skip". This is actually a huge accidental buff to Indom, since time matters in this CV more than anything else.

Agreed slingshot doesn’t seem to slingshot however Puffs just said that Last Gasp (after just using penultimate attack flight), will give you the boost, as yet i haven’t had chance to test it.
Welp, this kinda shows how broken World of Warships is. Not talkin about the damage potential that a CV has, but more like HOW DAMN BROKEN THE CROSSHAIR IS. They tried to fix that like several times with ghosts updates and now more updates to fix it, but seems like they cant do a damn thing bout it. It just sucks the way replays shows the crosshair a bit more up than in-game, and sucks the way Saipan and Lexington rockets are always a bit more down that the actual crosshair, and this happens with a lot more of planes.
This is a repaly bug, CV replays are usually always bugged.
@@FatFluffyPenguin Yep, as I said, its a cv replay bug, but it used to happen with Saipan in-game as well, dropping rockets off the crosshair, and as far as I know it happens with Lexington rockets. No idea if they even bothered fixing it since i've stopped playing with the Dead Eye nonsense stuff but everytime I check updates its like 70% crosshair updates or graphical updates for the crosshairs.

You can still basically snipe CV effecively if you get the oppurtunity, even if the rockets are scuffed.
