Elephant Techniques from Choy
The long-fist program sounds really interesting. Will it include elements like the 9 bridge hands of Choy Li Fut and the opportunities those create?
Randomly came across you again. I don’t really practice anymore but I’m trying to get back into it. Subbed
Thank you, Teacher Chan!
How does one gain structure?
Thanks for the long fist, I'll attempt to impliment this into my next sparring session. I do sorely lack anything not related to the pocket.
Thank you for doing these episodes on various styles of CMA as a person that does not do Wing Chun and loves CMA Thank you
Adam: Todays demonstration is called the cotton fist…
Chris: 😁
Adam: ..of destruction.
Chris: 😑
Adam: 😬
It's those same long arm swings that makes white crane really effective
That's like our Kwa Sau in Choy Li Fut.
Protip. People with head movement, are good at dodging horizontal strikes like hooks, backfist, and straight punches. Swing in an X motion instead. It really throws them off because they are not used to it.
Bet
This is a. Basic training method
..
The next level would be with head movement
Or even at basic level use these punches in sparring at novice level against an opponent
But drills with head movement
Or without head movement
R not the same as a real fight
Real fights happen
When your not ready
Un armed or out numbered
These training methods r strikes
But r later on combined with throws
Kung fu is 90% throws
Judo is taken from kung fu throwing
Guys whatever Adam shares with us it doesn't matter.
Just get good by training the right way and practice and review. Then learn some new concepts or techniques.
I had to learn short distance power because doing long strikes throws me off balance too bad
Your content is great. Thank you for all that you share. I would like to see how things work against something specific like BJJ. I ask because there should be a video or two on anti-grappling. Again thank you for all that you share on these videos.
How hard can an average person swing a backfist without breaking their knuckles? You seem to use more of a hammerfist configuration for your long-power backhand strikes than a backfist... Is that for safety purposes? I
Long fist is caveman kung fu.
Unfortunate we aren't seeing new stuff on Wing Chun.... There are tons of things that could be covered...
