Nooo, you showed the most secret weapon we got. The "skumtomte".
No Activ camo system tour? BAE... dyna.. mite.. ready to fight! Acdc
Today the government of Sweden announced that Ukraine will be receiving 50 of the CV90. I guess it wont be the latest version, but they will absolutely make a difference. 💪👍
@Peet Native man possibly. But to be clear, are you asking if you can obtain a cap or hat? Clothing?
Is that what you're asking about?
I could ask around, lol I want one too!
Don't know how to exchange info though here on CZcams, for when I'm able to get those.
Jas 39 Gripen, CV90, Archer, Carl Gustaf, AT4, NLAW and Gotland class sub. A lot of great military stuff from a small country.
You forgot about Visby... that is really kind of impressive considering that US try to do a similar ship and just totally failed.
And the BvS10, STIX, STRIL, ARTHUR, Bamse, RBS15,
I would say stuff like STRIL and Bamse that is information system that people typically don´t think about, is probobly the most impressive and important stuff.
Its a bit complicated considering that a lot of the system is sort of semi Swedish. Say the STRV122 that sort of 20% Swedish. But still a huge upgrade. And also Metior that is a colab that Sweden did sort of the complicated integration part.
The Swedes, small country but the military equipment is unreal.
A couple of centuries of invading and being invaded by Russia has it's effect on the culture :)
@@TzunSu When was Sweden invaded by Russia?
@@TzunSu The other way round the Swedes have never been invaded by the Swedes, the Swedes did invade Russia and the Baltics from 1700-1721.
@@riddick7082 here's some info: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_War
@@kegan51 We've had something like 11 wars between us, both have been on the invading side :)
It was an honor to meet you in person! Love all your work, your videos are the best! 😊
Thanks so much! Pleasure to meet you also!!
Rikard: You make us all very proud of being Swedish.
I can only agree with Kristoffer. Awesome work dude, what an absolute beast! 🙂
@sheldon fords Yes they can. The weapons are independent of each other but It's more a matter how many of the weapons the crew can use at the same time.
Greetings from Sweden!
Thank you for inviting this team!
Can we see some of the dronefotage?
"Matsimus my trip to BAE in Sweden". What did I hear? Matsimus said "My trip to an adult Disney World, yeepee!!🤗". Great video Mats.
As a Swede i am really proud of Hägglunds!
As is totally right. Hopefully Sweden and Finland improve their cooperation in defense industry.😁
@@Taistelukalkkuna Well the Finnish government sent a pretty clear signal that they prefer cooperation with the US defence industry. The F35 package was probably a deal that was too good to refuse but the choice does harm the Swedish defence industry quite badly and reduces the cooperation to projects that mainly favours Finnish industry. Which really is a signal to Sweden that it should reevaluate cooperation with Finland on defence industry projects. Because cooperation needs to be mutually beneficial.
Indeed. I still can't forget the day I got yet another one-off order for shit to cut (30mm weldox steel as I recall) and spotted "Hägglunds" on the drawing.......wait, what?
Had to google it, turns out it was most likely a spare part for an old tram bogey, but still...
@Patridge Patria AMOS is already one product and then there is that nordic soldier uniform thingy going on as well IIRC
@@Vonstab In Finland, we do not defense the Swedish defence industry. It is all about Finland.
Hi Mat! Glad to see you had the opportunity to swing by Sweden and Örnsköldsvik! I live in neighbouring Umeå and i feel extremely proud and grateful when i see the guys at Hägglunds showing their product and explaining their design choices. To have such intelligent, competent and creative people work for our common good here in Sweden really is a blessing. Thank you for visiting and for giving the team at Hägglunds the appreciation that they deserve! 🇸🇪🇬🇧🗽
As advanced, multispectral optics have become more affordable and are fielded more frequently, I am impressed by the attention to detail BAE has demonstrated with reducing this vehicle's thermal and electronic signature. I'm sure Matt had a tremendous amount of fun, and I'm so happy he is being recognized for his contributions. Props to BAE for being so gracious!
@sheldon fords afaik, yes, the commander and gunner could each use a separate weapon simultaneously.
Idk if the mk4 with ATGMs is controlled by the turret crew or from a missile station in the troop compartment.
Either way, the top hatches over the troop compartment also allows up to four dismounts to use their squad MGs and rifles while mounted.
They could technically also use the squads AT4s or Recoilless but it's a risky venture due to backblast zone and reduced accuracy.
Czechs and Slovaks just decided to go with that solution. It's matter of fact already, so other happy faces soon 😉👍. Very well managed movie and nice words told, that's really kind of you and matches the Swedish naturel too. Nice one! Thnx! 💙🔱💛
Did Czech also buy it? I only saw that Slovakia has bought it so far.
@@zoom5024 yes, it's recent development. CZ as well opted for the CV90 IFV (not sure if signed already)

@@tango23repetitor59 I really hope part of the payment will be in copious amount of Czech pilsner :)
What an incredible experience this must have been for you man. Thanks for doing what you do.
good to see you smile and love your life... omg inside the CV90 there are signs in Czech language... this is exactly the vehicle that Czech army tested in the IFV testing and evaluation.
Didn't both Czech and Slovakia decide to go with it?
@@Tehkenny1 cz will most likely get it
@@Tehkenny1Czechs will get cv9030, Slovaks cv9035
I am happy that Czech army decided to buy these vehicles
Glad you liked it! I started to work with it in the late -80's beginning of -90's at Pansartruppernas stridsskola in Skövde , Sweden.
There we had the real tests in terrain and different wheater, both winter and summer..
It was a blast 😎 ✌🏻
I once thought that the Bradley Fighting Vehicle was an incredible platform, but now, I’ve changed my mind about that. The thoughts and technology that is throughout the CV-90, is truly amazing, and definitely a game changer in the right hands of a well trained crew on a battlefield anywhere. Well done Sweden and BAE.
Great vid, great bit of kit. What the hell is UK doing dicking around with Ajax when we have proven technology on the door step with an established relationship. Well done Hagglands well done BAE systems, well done Mats. 👍
Nice you see the CV90 with the Akeron ATGM
The Akeron (Previously the MMP for Missile Moyenne Portée, Mid Range Missile), is not only wired, but it's one of its feature.
You can use it as a fire and forget missile after lock, or you can control the missile and even change the angle of attack on the way.
You can fire the missile and lock after, for like a tank behind a wall without direct line of sight.
It's the baby a Milan and a Javelin with the tech of a Spike.
A long range version of the Akeron is also in developpment for the helicopter and drones (To replace the Hellfire in the french army)
Yepp, it´s a verry nifty little missile that don´t get enough attention/marketing! I don´t know the price of it, but if it functions as it is depicted it is an awesome system that is incredible compact!
I had totally missed this development! Sweden tried to put a BILL 2 on a CV90 decades back, but they never got the targeting to work. Happy to see something similar!
hope it comes out soon, seems like a good alternative to the spike (which is really good, but the more the better)
also, the launcher seems so compact, it's pretty nice
Best video yet. Your emotions are really coming through
Awesome! Absolutely love the CV90, such a shame the UK MOD didn't go with it in the end! So many nice well thought out features.
With the Ajax farce, hopefully they'll decide to buy the CV90 instead
My guess is the government are going double down and carry on with the Acrap because like HS2 the expense is too big to fail even though after £4 billion spent it hurt more UK soldiers than enemy soldiers.
Europe needs to choose a couple of systems instead of using 30 different supply chains. The CV90 is an exellent system that could be the standard in european defence. I dont understand why we have to be so stupid about this. We should choose a system that works and produce it everywhere in Europe. It would strenghten our collective defence and make the rearment that is going on so much easier. The cv90 is an exellent and proven system. As for tanks the Leopard 2 is a beast. Its time to make a european standard on equipment for our armed forces since were supposed to be able to aid one another in case of war anyways.
No we need competition and options. Not "30" maybe but several different weapons.
Sten It doesn’t work like that. It’s called competition. We need developers to compeed to develop better and better systems. We are not like Russia.
That said, the trend into wheeled vehicles had grown considerably.
Transport of tracked vehicles need trucks and trailers, wheeled vehicles hi by themselves.
@Dave Coyle
The EU Moloch's might be that.
Stupidity is their hallmark.
German Puma would be better
Hey Matt, we’ll done mate loved the vid, 25years in the uk army with warrior just could stop comparing it to the warrior, as you said it’s chalk and cheese. It’s a beast and so jealous of your experience. Thanks Matt.
I’m only comparing it to try make a statement about how much warrior deserves to be given a rest and a new platform THAT WORKS takes its place. I love warrior
I used to be a CV9030 commander and I just felt so nostalgic watching this video. Just the low rumble of the vehicle is amazing
What an amazing experience!!! Thank you for sharing!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes it's back! Got to love CV90 man.. Great video, amazing people and just overall amazing energy from you all.
Great video matt! CV90 is a beast and wish we had them. The range target at 29:18 I think is whats left of a Stridsvagn m/41; a Swedish licensed built version of the Czech Panzer 38t circa WW2. Just going off whats left of the running gear and rear hull.
Yes that’s it
It's that protruding axle at the rear that gives it away, right? :-)
My first guess was a T55, but was probably way wrong..
@@CBDuRietz to me its the road wheels that gave it away
All of the stridsvagn m/41's were rebuilt to APC's, the Pbv 301, in the early 60's. Most ended up as range targets after they were taken out of service
I think the most enjoyable part of this video is seeing Mat enjoying himself. ☺️
I only wish you could experience the 40 mm version. But this video made me so happy. i almost teared up😇
That's a team, no wonder they make great equipments.
Good for you BAE, a lot of companies spend a fortune trying to find the recipe for that alchemy and far more don't even try.
Gotta visit Sweden some day, they have a beautiful country and certainly a lot of great people to meet.
proud to have the privilege to become a mechanic on one of them
The blasted hulk at about 29:13 is almost certainly a Panzer 38(t) or some derivative thereof. Sweden operated that tank under the designation "Stridsvagn m/41". Those characteristic roadwheels and the rear of the engine compartment gives it away
Was wondering about that!
That makes it a Pansarbandvagn 301, the first Swedish APC.
13.22 The happy smiley faces on the skirtguard knowing made me smile.
I'm a Swede who eagerly follows the CV90's development. I'm hoping that this platform makes it in to mote NATO allies
Good job with the new video the CV 90 looks like a real champion
Hell yeah dude, this is badass! Happy for you.
Thanks!!
I am so happy you got this experience! the cv90 is a really good vehicle, and you have a good insight into the tec, from Denmark, all the best.
WOW! This is so amazing! I'm so happy you go to see and record all this for us Matsimus.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Damn that sounds great.
What a trip! :)
I wish your visit at BAE Hägglunds had been arranged with BAE Bofors and the Archer SPH too. But hey that's for the next trip. Following conscripts out to Villingsbergs artillery range and lay down a barrage or two. Merry X-mas
Slovakia ordered also! The MkIV with 35mm gun, with IRON FIST and SPIKE LR2 ;).
Isn't that IVF they were playing with set up with controls and warnings in slovak/english, you can see some markings/warnings in 30:40, im like 99 % sure thats slovak/czech
@@lucixize yes, markings/warnings are in czech
@@lucixize They are in czech language-I am Slovak. In 10:10 the operator of CV90 is wearing Slovak patch, with Slovak national emblem. Czech republic started the whole program of modernisation of their tracked IFV much sooner than we. At that time the CV90 demonstrator was even painted with czech national symbol-it is also seen in their CV90 promo video, which was also commented by Mat. Big effort was made there by BAE. However, czech ministry of defense at first failed with their program, so they end it with no winner. Now they are in close talks with BAE. Thanks to our great minister of defense, mr. Jaroslav Naď, we bought CV90 much quicker than our czech counterpart. Our whole program was much shorter and quicker in case of choosing the best option for our heavy mechanised brigade-in realm of time. I think even the swedish side was shocked by the quick Slovak decision-there was much marketing about CV90 in czech national symbols, standards, and so on. They didn´t need such marketing in Slovakia. Our ministry even published more than 100 pages long study about the best possible option for our land forces. The contesters of the program were CV90 MkIV, Lynx KF41, Ascod and polish Borsuk. CV90 and KF41 were close to each another, but CV90 won in the end-was better in all aspects.
@@marekmarecek1275 Yeah, and you can see the czech writing ("Do not hold here") inside the tank when Matsimus is about to try firing the CV90.
See 33:28
Nice vehicle! The Dutch are getting them now as well, but as an upgrade (MLU) from their CV9035NL (Mk.III) instead. I think they just received the first upgraded model some months ago.
What an awesome thing BAE did there, but have to be said your effort on making these videos put you in that place. You deserve it!
What an epic trip Canada needs the CV90
Thank you to Mat and Thank you to BAE Systems Hagglunds, for their time and allowing someone to get this close to the CV90, a vehicle that will the Bar for others and will become a modern legend. really enjoyed every minute of this experience. 💙💙😍😍🌞🌞
This is the best video ive see on on the CV90
Very cool tour of the CV90. You have probably more experience in person with the CV90 than many BAE employees will ever get.
I see that you were driving the CV90CZ (internal warning signs were in Czech at 30:40). I'm so glad that we're finally replacing the BVP-2 with something newer.
That intro did not suck! What a cool thing to be able to do!.
Maybe a PBV302?
Im miss riding the cv9040. I was a seargent for the infantry in the back, what we started to call bollhavet. Back in 95/96
Imagine going from a BMP to this masterpiece. The Ukranians will be delighted. Way to go, Sweden!👍🇺🇦🇸🇪👍
CV90 C-version is being sent to Ukraine 👍🏻
Some of them are now deployed near the frontline of bachmut from what i heard, so they are ready to kick some ass
finnish defence forces be like: nah we using both at the same time
This is some good promo for the CV90!
Damn pure envy here, congratulations Matt this was quite the compliment the bae systems bestowed upon you.
Culmination of a lot of hard work on your part.
I can imagine hundreds of people have said this before, but. You should try and collab with the Chieftain, he could probably get you access to an older Bradley while he looks at some random one off tank from 1923.
its hard to collab with someone who knows more literature than the people who designed and built their projects from start to finish
CV90, like a lot of Swedish military hardware, just works. Gripen, A26, Aimpoint, Bofors... Glad Sweden is joining NATO!
The Carl Gustaf, the Archer, the Gotland submarine. Unfortunately I don't think Turkey will let us in to NATO.
lol joining just to be exploited by the US, genius.
@@skitidetdu6672 atm Sweden provides more for NATO than Turkey does. I have a feeling that it’s only a matter of time before Turkey has to accept it and move on.
@@justamicrowave2572 they've got a veto on that. They want us to extradite Swedish citizens, not going to happen.
The Nordic countries generally make good stuff. Too bad MBTs are now too expensive for small countries like Sweden. And that we Danes opted out of the Archer. The CAESAR we got is a fine system, Archer is just better.
Damn, I'm jealous and happy enormously for your adventure with those people, CV90, drones, guided missiles, optoelectronics with multi-channel targeting and more... 😄

Great video! This brings back memories of my military service. We had the CV9040 and Leopard2 (Strv-122). The vibration in the ground when a 23 and a 62 tonne beast is coming towards you have to be experienced. I can not imagine the fear feeling that in wartime... and the speed they can travel at is insane! :) The sound the 40mm akan makes when auto firing is very nice to hear :)

Very cool video. Thanks for sharing it with us.

This warms my heart! The sound takes me back. I did my military service on the CV9040. Thank you!
You are a professional without any doubt. You have no reason to like (love 🥰) the CV90. You are not Swedish.
The truth is that the CV90 and all her Designers stole your heart...❤️
What you think really means a lot for many of us subscribers. As a Swede, thank you 👍❤️
Really proud of the system here in Sweden. And You had the old classic ”Plankstek” for dinner :) The family feeling might be how we work in Sweden, we work together instead of a manager just tell everyone what to do. And i think it is really good that everyone can speak up and suggest better ways of doing things. Like less hierarchy to simplify it…
Yup, the CV90 is far more quiet from the front than an AFV has any right to be.
You feel it through the ground many minutes before you hear it, which is unnerving as you don't know where it comes from until it's too late, and that's the A/B version with steel tracks on bare ground.
On thick snow (it effortlessly traverses up to 1m deep snow), it's even more quiet, and the vibrations are dampened out...
Shame drones are going to eat it for lunch. At least you'll be able to see them flying in with such great visibility.
@@Substance2020 riight... no.
The CV90 has good enough thermals to spot drones before they become a serious threat, and while the guns of the IFV variants will have a bit more complicated job aiming against air targets, it'd still be relatively easy to shoot a drone out of the sky.
And if that isn't enough, the Swedish CV90 battalions also come with a number of the CV9040 SPAAG version, essentially a CIWS radar guiding a tripple axis stabilised Bofors 40mm/L70 with -10°-+89° elevation and programmable proximity fused ammunition.
@@SonsOfLorgar Wow, you actually think drones are easy to hit and will just hover over the tank. You're clueless. Your thermals won't do anything because you won't have ANY thermals after the suicide drone flies in at 100mph after they see which direction you're facing and stab you in the back.
@@Substance2020 Ah you are one of the idiots who think modern tanks and armored vehicles are useless just because of drones
@@holokyttaja5476 They will be useless against advanced drones. Unless they deploy advanced ai that can distinguish between a bird and a drone and launch counter measures then the drone will eat it's eyes out. All you'll be left with with a dumb box worth 1/10th of the price.
Wow, someone had very heavy loads of fun in the snow.
I can't wait for the invitation for Matsimus for the Puma, Griffin, Lynx, Redback and the Ajax.
Awesome video Matt. I will never understand why the UK govt bought Ajax instead of this tried and tested beauty. I believe BaE even offered to use the turrets with the CT40 cannon already ordered for Ajax and put them on the CV90. Only time will tell if the govt forces the MoD to change vehicles as we know budget cuts are coming and defence is usually first on the block.
Tried and tested CV90mk4 that isn't tried or tested 😅
@@EP-bb1rm the platform is...
@@EP-bb1rm They have a prototype that have been tried and tested. Making the tools for mass production is very low risk compared with designing a vehicle from scratch.
@@SonsOfLorgar At a lower weight, with lower performance, lower electronic load, fewer weapon Systems, different turret....

When it comes to the CV90 as well as the Strv122 the "IR sensors" is abit more than that. They are an integral part in the various proximity self defense features both vehicles can field in real combat.
Goosebumps just hearing it, sounds like a thumper of a V8
I'm jealous Matt. This is just so awesome that they invited you to see all of this. Very nice!!
Bae Systems, when your bae is a system.
What a freaking beauty!!!! Forget any sports car money can buy this would be my daily driver if it were possible
Hi Matsimus, An excellent video produced of your trip to Sweden. From seeing this footage of the CV90 Mk.4, it defiantly confirms what I have thought for quite a while now, that the British Army should have replaced Warrior IFV capability with CV90 Mk.4 IFV, as it is what you have emphasized on numerous occasions, a combat proven design that seems to have infinite upgradeability and modularity.
I would imagine that you have gained a, some what unique insight, into the true and full potential capabilities of this vehicle. Whilst for obvious classified reasons, you cannot share them with your wider viewer base online. I could see that you have had the experience of lifetime getting up close and personal, literally, with the development of this vehicle, I know that if I was in your position it would be for me. Lastly I couldn’t help thinking that you miss your former days serving in the British Army with the REME. Anyway great video!!
Amazing video. You should have visited "Sprängtekniska Museet" in Karlstad, an amazing museum about advanced ammunition etc developed by Sweden.
In the firing, it shows how much that affected you but you remained so professional and composed doing the piece to camera despite your audience. Great video!
Amazing crew. Amazing video.....thank you
Great to hear that you had a fantastic time, Matt. 🙂👍 One could really see the absolute joy you were experiencing.
Mat…..that was one of the most enjoyable video’s I’ve seen on YT…..I felt as excited as you….I was a Chieftain gunner/crewman as well as qualified on Scimitar so I can truly appreciate your memories. On the CV90….what an incredible piece of hardware…..those rubber tracks blew my mind (I hated track bashing)……any you’re right it’s really night & day….thanks for the work you put it and for stirring old good memories……
Thank you so much!! 😊
Very happy you got to visit BAE. Well deserved.
Cv90 is beautiful! You are one lucky dude 😂
Hands down the most capable, no nonsense, IFV currently available on the market. No wonder the Czeck's and Slovakian's chose it. Just a solid, modular and scalable platform, that has been in constant development for decades.
I hope my country decides to do a MLU and get some extras as well. Can't wait to see what's in the pipe for the Mark 5.
A 30mm still rocks for extreme acupuncture, but I'd prefer a bigger 40-50mm selective/multi-purpose autocannon.
@@L46726 Jah-man... It's the old Bofors, i reckon!? We have the 35mm here... Bushmaster, i believe. The new 50mm gun looks really impressive, though.
Congratulations for this opportunity and merry Christmas! 🎄🎁 It’s smart of them to present their products to your community.
Matsimus, brand Ambassador for the CV90, hihi. Maybe you could help them sell a few to Germany, sounds like they could use an IFV That Just Works, 😁. Awesome opportunity mate, Sweden is a fantastic country with great people, I hope they invite you back again for a part 2. Cheers & Beers from Australia
I dont understand why Europe needs 50 different IFVs when the best are available from Sweden ;) Yeah im biased but its not like we wouldn't share technology it would be a joint endever and a technology transfer to all our friends. Its a mystery to me why we insist on having so many different systems when we could have 1 or 2 that actually works!
@@TheSlyngel Im quite happy we have that variety, though its a loss in logistics and training. But otherwise we can have some overlapping of functions and an enemy who does not know what exactly he needs to prepare against.Puma might be a better choice in 2-3 or 5 Years, but until then Sweden produces a good robust IFV.Same with Tanks. All this multinational conglomerates can waste so much time, i think its better to have smaller teams that focus on their products.
Amazing video Matt. Congrats. Great to meet you on site. Keep up the good work.
What an outstanding video. Really well presented, fantastic piece of equipment and your obvious enthusiasm, excitement and pleasure was entirely infectious. Excellent!
What an impressive machine. It was obvious to see that you were very gracious and humbled by the experience. Thanks for sharing this!
BAE Systems a British company developing and building excellent AFVs in Sweden.
In Britain we have an American company building Shite (AJAX) for the British Army at a greater cost.
