      @@georgemesser3262 only if Daniel really shows up. If he’s only barely edging out yuki, redbull might keep Perez for the season and do something interesting like signing Carlos. He’s really really good driver who is suddenly up for grabs and would push Max more than he has been pushed by a teammate recently. Ofc that is definitely a less safe option but with only 1 season before a rules change. Maybe advantageous to have a more skilled driver in that seat. Piastri also I think is free in 2025 unless he resigns with McLaren which he no doubt will, barring interest from redbull.

If anything, the fact the he won a race on pure pace versus a teammate who basically owns Mclaren in a car he got fired from driving is insurmountable proof that in a car he likes, he is going to smash it. P4-P7 in quali and the race in Mexico just solidifies that theory.

They bring him back to be Max's teammate again, and become the strongest duo on the grid, in the strongest car on the grid, to wrap up 2025 with a driver's title 1-2, and 100% RB winning season, just before the new regs shake up the pecking order again in '26.

      "Bad" to the Mercs drivers simply means its not good enough to win the RB19 thats all, its in no way an objectively worse car like alot of the rest of the grid. Like it or not, Hamilton and Russell made plenty of mistakes last year too, in some situations they lost where they shouldnt have based on car performance alone. We"ll need to see what happens in Bahrain to know for sure, but they certainly dont really have the clear advantage either cars or skills wise over their closest competitor Ferarri atm, if we take pre testing at face value.

    re the Leclerc/Sainz comparison: Monza, let''s not forget that drivers take it in turn to go before their teammate, what this means is that in that weekend, Leclerc was always giving him a tow and if you recall, for the last attempt at pole, Leclerc went first, therefore with no tow, followed by Verstappen who got the tow from him and Sainz who got the tow from Max and Leclerc ended up 3rd lest than 0.1sec behind! now re Singapore, yes Sainz got the pole but let's not forget that Singapore is the second Monaco of the season so you just can't overtake. had norris, lewis or russell got the pole they would have won just the same. finally, the total number of points between both drivers should have been quite different; jsut think about the fact that Leclerc would have finished 3rd in Bahrain , 15 points, which also means Sainz woudl have scored 2 points less, then think about Brazil where Leclerc got the pole but due to mechanical issue, he couldn't start the race. Sainz had a couple of issues too but in those instances Leclerc was better positioned on the starting grid anyway. don't get me wrong , I think Sainz is really good and underrated but I do think Leclerc is better. it's like people who say he's not converted his poles into wins; well of course he hasn't since the Ferrari was a Saturday car. Lewis or Max, with the same car, they wouldn't have won either.

    Nah Lewis in P7 is crazy. He’s never been one to “take it easy” regardless of the situation including switching teams. He finished 3rd in an inferior car to this years, I think it’s safe to say he can at least replicate similar results. The only way he finishes worse is if Ferrari do much better than last year.

Likewise with the rest of the grid, I wanna see Tsunoda get a podium (preferrably at Suzuka), Ricciardo and Piastri get podium(s) (preferrably at Melbourne), Alonso get many podiums.

    Let’s ignore how promising testing was and the fact that Mercedes was the second fastest in race pace while was running low engine modes. Why watch testing if you’re gonna ignore it?

    • @cidiracing7481
      @cidiracing7481 Před 4 měsíci +8

      Because it's testing. And who says Merc was running low engine modes or that others didn't also? The Merc did not look great. It did not look stable. If they did run on low engine mode it's not very promising when the car is already unstable in that case. It will be just even more unstable when the engine runs at full power and they are pushing the car properly.

    • @robertcrow3006
      @robertcrow3006 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I agree, I think they are blind.
      Even if somehow Mercedes are 4th fastest at the start, the only question is if they finish 2nd or 3rd in constructors.

    • @cidiracing7481
      @cidiracing7481 Před 4 měsíci

      @robertcrow3006 If they are again 4th fastest like last year, they are not going to finish 2nd or 3rd. Last year, they got safed by McLaren not having a car until Austria, AM screwing up their in season development, and Ferraris tyre munching. McLaren has a good base car now, Ferrari looks to have improved on their tyre wear. AM might be the one that has fallen off and is now firmly behind Merc. I have not seen anything in testing that gives me confidence they will be beating Ferrari/McLaren. The car simply didn't look that stable and that's under conditions where they don't push properly. If that is the stability the car has this weekend, Merc is going to do their Sbinalla impressions.

    • @Usedtobebillie
      @Usedtobebillie Před 4 měsíci

      @@cidiracing7481 you really didn’t watch testing. Even the guys from The Race have placed Mercedes close to Ferrari and Sky Sports on the air today were talking about how people in the paddock think Mercedes could be faster than Ferrari. Helmut Marko did an interview where he said he thinks Mercedes is faster than they showed. Mercedes ran really low floor heights and the car was stable more than it has been in two years. You really didn’t watch testing.

    • @cidiracing7481
      @cidiracing7481 Před 4 měsíci
