My bottle says there are fermented grapes in the ingredients. That’s most certainly it. Fermented grapes can be good for the skin!
Unfortunately, I've had the exact same issue with the cocokind rosewater mist. It smelled so rank, like rotten rose petals, and the mist felt sticky on the skin. Needless to say, I ended up throwing out the rosewater and reusing the pretty bottle with the trader Joe's rosewater.
The smell reminds me of fermented grapes or something. There's definitely a smell but it's not exactly bad, just different.
i had the same problem with the oil to milk cleanser!!! i ended up really loving the cleanser and getting used to the smell.
Didn’t Kosas have a similar problem where, because they were all natural, they didn’t have any preservatives, so their products went bad, sometimes even before they left the store. Could that be the issue here too?
Unlikely, cocokind is not preservative free, they just don't use some specific preservatives. The ingredients list of this specific product actually suggests it's preserved relatively well.

It smells disgusting to me too. I've had that problem with a couple of their products like the oil to milk cleanser too. Couldn't continue using it because of the smell! It was GROSS!!!
That's downright of "clean" they don't have any preservatives so makes sense it would go bad quickly
I’ve read comments from folks regarding many different brands smelling funky. I bought a powder and balm cleansing duo from Juno & Co because the powder cleanser is supposed to be a dupe for the Dermalogica one and I wanted to try the balm cleanser as well. The balm cleanser broke me out and I’m currently covered in tiny red bumps and the powder cleanser smells like vomit!
I haven't tried it, but now I kinda want to😆💗🦋💗🦋
I’m using the Pacifica AHA + vitamin c cleanser and so far I like, smells like bubblegum or marshmallow idk but it doesn’t feel stripping at all

i love this brand and the cleanser itself seems like it'd benefit my skin. after one use im having trouble getting past the smell. smells like garbage juice to me 😭
Smells like rotten bananas to me, and the young folks at cvs/target that were shopping with their vaccine coupons were talking about it too ….
😂 Everyone was debating about whether to buy it or not. 😅
P.S. The sunscreen did not smell, to me, but I live near algae and seaweed etc. 😂 so 🤷♀️ heheh.
I agree the sunscreen doesn’t have a smell 👍🏻 I haven’t tried any of the others yet but I had been debating. The comments on this post might help my decision though lol

I had this issue with not with this but the ufo toner from Sunday Riley it smelled so bad I’m not sure if it went bad but it smelled horrible

Huh, interesting. I haven't tried this cleanser, so I have no personal experience with it. However, the ingredients list shows phenylpropanol, which is a masking fragrance, and hibiscus sabdariffa flower extract, which is a fragrance. So why would it smell bad? Idk, but I'm not a cosmetic chemist. Maybe it doesn't have much of a shelf life?
I tried their oil to cream cleanser and not only did it smell bad but it was garbage. Probably one of the worst cleansers I've ever used. It went straight to the trash
