- Beholder has had four offspring, and to date all have been retained by her breeder, Spendthrift. This year, her yearling colt by Curlin will be offered by the farm as hip 165, by Taylor Made Sales. We talked to Ned Toffey, the General Manager of Spendthrift Farm, about this very special offering.

Two of my very favorites, Curlin and Beholder. Good luck!
Beholder, what a filly,!! She had a style, all her own!! Her colt, is going to do great things, Tamara, already won at Del Mar!! Curlin, boy oh boy, what a horse!! He was just plain beautiful!! I hope, everything works out for the best!!
Gorgeous
The two year old, Tamara, mentioned at 1:40 won on debut at Del Mar.
Bet he brings a lot of money. Looks like a future star
$4,000,000
4 million.
A collector’s item?
Looks like it
Breed her to blame!!!!!
Blame is an OK to good sire, but not as accomplished in the breeding shed as the sires Beholder has been bred to so far. He's 62nd on the general sires list for North America this year (2023), and standing for $25,000 next year, down from his introductory (2011) stud fee of $35,000. The sires lists compare stallions by total earnings by progeny in a given year.
Beholder has been bred to:
Uncle Mo $150,000 4th on general stallion list for 2023
Curlin $250,000 2nd on general stallion list for 2023
War Front $100,000 31st for 2023 note: War Front is 21, when stud fees usually go down. For several years in his heyday his stud fee was $250,000.
Bolt d'Oro $60,000 42nd on general sires list note: Bolt d'Oro is a young stallion, with only 2 crops to have started at the track. He was leading freshman sire in 2022, and is 3rd this year among second year sires. A very promising start, though it remains to be seen if his progeny continue to do well. Bolt d'Oro's introductory stud fee in 2020 was $25,000, so his fee has more than doubled. Blame has gone down, from a relatively low introductory fee.
@@marysueeasteregg she was bred to Bolt purely out of sentimental reasons
