      boy you have no choice but to "accept jesus". You're religion began over 6 hundred years after christianity therefore to not acknowledge or form an opinion on jesus would be nonsensical. He was acknowledged in order to help smooth over the transition from practicing Judaism or christianity when people were being forced/persuaded to convert to Islam in the 7th century.
      Just like Judaism stems from ancient canaanite religions such as the one ancient sumerians followed and so on. In fact, christianity and Islam are both derivatives of semetic religions.
      The only religions in the current world that hold a different message to the "abrahamic" based religions are Hinduism and buddhism.
      Who is right?.... I have absolutely no idea. Honestly I dont think it should be relevant who is right. There is so much confusion in the world would any truly loving god deny someone passage into paradise or heaven or gan eden so long as they lived their lives as loving, empathetic, caring all round good intentioned individuals?
      Apparently the answer to that question is yes in most religions lol. Regardless of your actions or behaviour if you do not select the "correct God" you Re royally fucked in the afterlife. But if there truly is a god, somoene or something that is all knowing, that is capable and truly worthy of judging your limited lifespan on this planet then he or she would be less concerned about your acceptance of them as they would be how you lived your life. In my opinion anyway.

      ***** wow so their bible doesn't talk about slavery (catholics)? I only ever read the KJV and some of the New International Version. For that matter jesus said he wasn't here to absolve the word but to fulfill it. Meaning all the garbage in the Torrah / old testament is still to be practiced... all 613 commandments of it.
      The KJV clearly condones / endorses slavery of not only gentiles (any non-jews) but also jews can be tricked/loop holed into a life of slavery... using love to do it.
      Lost track of who was claiming that Nazis were atheists. Hitler clearly was a xian. He is just like the multitude of flavors that the protestant reformation created. For me it's how I can easily see that religions are all man made concepts of a sky daddy. Belief in the occult or non-mainstream of the time (aka a pagan religion) doesn't absolve it from being a religion. Just not one you believe in.
      As far as Hitler he was just making it out like he was the return of jesus with a sword. 1000 year reich? hmm isn't that what Jesus is allegedly going to do?
      Got Mitt Uns was part of the Nazi uniform.
      Even wacko Mel Gibson hates the jews since they were the ones that killed the alleged Jesus person.
      To feel that the Nazi movement wasn't established essentially as a means to instill religion from the governments direction is mislead. They were brainwashed just like religions do. Hitler learned from religions to do what he did. I don't care if his version of xianity doesn't jive with the at least 30,000 other versions of xianity, it was still belief in the super natural and ultimately a religion. He infused Germanic traditions/religions with his catholic roots (from his mother) to create the structure of the Nazi party. His father was anticlergical and where he got his dislike for organized religion having power over people (and paid for doing nothing). However, he never denounced religion or catholicism publicly, in fact he praised them... but injected his concept of the Aryan Jesus. Musolini actively pressed against xians though. Hitler didn't like things Himmler was into, he saw it a step backward from current religions.
      The xians did form a group to oppose jew loved ones being taken away. That movement grew fairly large in Nazi Germany (I believe up to a hundred thousand but don't recall from my research now). Some jews were even pulled from camps to be returned to loved ones that were non-jews. But this group wasn't benevolent to all just those they were closely affiliated to. Such as loved ones that were either full or even part jew.
      Xians were definitely not persecuted by Hitler and the germans. We have speculation that after the war Hitler intended to remove churches, but not xians. Musolini is a different animal though.

    We have the same opinion of Jesus as Christians have of Zeus or Vishnu. Jesus is just apart of another religion and that is it. We don't have an opinion of him, we only hold the belief that he wasn't of any religious significance nor was he the messiah. He is just that one guy Christians worship. I've never met a Jew that was interested in converting people, so like a lot of people said "Christians believe what they believe, we believe what we believe, that's it". Why are people saying the people interviewed are lying? As if they want them to say negative things just to justify their predigest. We truly don't care for Jesus, he has no importance to us.
    As a secular Jew I don't speak for everyone, but that is the general opinion most Jews in and outside of Israel have of Christianity and Jesus.

      I have a question that you will like (about Yeshua). As a Catholic, I believe that he was and is a faithful Jewish man whose teachings were distorted by ethno-centric Europeans centuries later. The question is this: I feel If Jesus were here he would be shocked at how we Christians practice our faith and would most likely side with you. Do you agree or disagree? Reason why I say this is because I heard a rabbi say in a documentary "If Jesus were here, the first place he would go to is a synagogue not a church" This kind of made sense to me.

    • @ForeverRepublic
      @ForeverRepublic Před 10 lety +4

      cfG21
      That is a very good question. I grew up in Copenhagen, so even being Jewish I still had a large exposure to Christianity.
      From my experience it seems that many different cultures have shaped Jesus to fit their own predigests or opinions, rather than shaping themselves. What I mean is that in some parts of Iceland, Jesus is depicted in a similar manner as Thor, while in the American South he is depicted as a homophobic white guy. It is sort of like the "telephone" game, where Jesus has just become apart of legend.
      I feel his teachings have been changed and edited so much that we will never really know who he was. Judaism is different because it stems from a single culture.
      I wouldn't call myself religious, but the reason I don't bother with Christianity is because I don't believe any single human being is worthy of worship. I also don't see anything significant or special about the teachings of Jesus. "Love each other and be a nice person" has been taught since the beginning of time.
      I think Jesus wasn't trying to start a whole new religion, but simply teaching pacifism, which was a heated topic amongst the Hebrews at the time. Whether they should fight the Romans with fire or with love.
      Very good question though. I was wondering what your take on the New Pope was? I think he is teaching the type of Christianity that you prefer.
      That is my take on it, hopefully that answered your question. Cheers mate and peace.

    • @cfG21
      @cfG21 Před 10 lety +1

      It did and it is an opinion amongst some Christians that Jesus never wanted to create a new religion.
      I like the new pope like I liked John Paul. They are making efforts to form a bridge between Judaism and Christianity (or that branch at least). What most people overlook is that Paul defended his Jewish roots and warned gentile-Christians not to think they've been given the keys to heaven only. It was decided within the church fathers that whatever you were before knowing Christ you will be afterwards. Therefore a Greek will remain Greek and Jews will stay Jewish.
      I find it stupid when Christians say they want to get rid of Jews. You can't have Christianity without Judaism. It just doesn't make sense.
      Have you heard of the Noachide code?

      ***** Actually your statement as Judaism not being the oldest religion in existence is false. Although it's not entirely clear which religion [which is still practiced] was founded first, it definitely does not have to be Hinduism. Judaism dates back to the early days of Abraham which is approx. 2000 years BCE (according to the religion), whereas Zoroastrianism is next at around 1700 BCE (the century in which Zarathushtra was thought to have been born), and then comes Hinduism dating back to around 1700-1100 BCE (When Rig Veda gets composed, the oldest of all Vedas [scriptures in Hinduism]). Obviously neither Judaism, Zoroastrianism, nor Hinduism were the first religions created, yet all the ones created before have perished - so keep that in mind. Also, the woman never said that Islam and Christianity are ONLY based off of Judaism, rather she clearly meant greatly based off of Judaism, which is in fact true (before Islam and Christianity, Judaism was the only monotheistic religion. Monotheism, or polytheism are definitely a large portion of a religion, considering it's the premise and basis of it as a whole).
      On regards to everything being calculated and most of it being offensive, I believe you, like many others who watched this video, are taking what they say a bit too personally. The majority of the people in this video just said that they don't really care about Christianity which is completely fine in my opinion. Some also said they're interested yet still don't believe, which is also, completely fine in my opinion, curiosity is a right.
      Now I'd like to ask you a question. What do YOU think about Judaism?

    • @TheGarerman
      @TheGarerman Před 10 lety +2

      ***** I don't really see your point here. I never said Judaism is the oldest religion, I said it is most likely the oldest religion still practiced today. I am aware that Stonehenge is older than Judaism yet that's irrelevant.
      I understand your statement regarding the Jews' "arrogance" and "contempt for others". On top of that though I believe this statement has a large double standard considering almost every religion, if not every religion, has a belief that they are above all. Islam teaches that whoever isn't Muslim is cursed, blind, and a fool. Christianity teaches that their religion should be preached and that everyone should be Christian if they wish to be salvaged by Jesus Christ. I could go on, but anyone without a radical hatred towards Semitism should already get my point.
      You should know that Israel has helped many nations across the globe, even during times when it was tough and when no one else would. Israel was one of the firsts on the scene after the disastrous hurricane in the Philippines, after the earthquake and tsunami in Haiti and Japan, and well, much much more. Look it up.
      You can also look up Jewish or Israeli contribution to medicine, technology and science. Look up the list of Jewish Nobel laureates as well. The Jews make up 23% of all the Nobel prize winners. That says something, it definitely gives people lots of reasons (although not justified) to hate them.
      If you think the people in the video could have answered a better answer, please, do us all a favor and tell us how.

    • @TheGarerman
      @TheGarerman Před 10 lety +6

      ***** You sir, are putting words into my mouth, and into the mouths of the innocent people in this video. You assume that because I claim that the Jews aren't evil I must think the Palestinians are, but I don't.
      Israel didn't save the world, obviously not, and I never said this, for the record. I did say though that Israel has done nothing but contribute to this world, and because of antisemitic propaganda people fail to see so. You further prove this point by typing comments on your computer which, in fact, is free from viruses thanks to an Israeli invention. If you're typing the comment on your cellphone, then you should know that the first cellphone was manufactured in Israel. Feel free to say that all of this and how Israel helped many others in need are irrelevant but know that I simply disagree, it is very relevant.
      On regards to Palestine (I hoped we wouldn't have to bring politics into this conversation), of course there was a Palestine before Israel, and the 'Zionists' don't deny this. What they do deny, however, is that Palestine is/was an exclusive Arab state, which is in fact not true, and we all know that.
      Whether the Jews "stole" the land or not (they didn't by the way, it was given to them back in '48 and the land that was conquered afterwards was a result of acts of self-defense), I think is unimportant because as someone who's been there, and has seen many different things there, I must say the so-called Palestinians and non-Jews have the same amount of rights as anyone else who lives there and more rights than any Arab in any Arab state. The only ones that don't have equal rights are the ones that throw rocks at Israelis and the ones that blow themselves up in public areas. That would be the same case in any liberal country now wouldn't it?
      By the way, respecting your statement of the Muslims living alongside the Jews peacefully until the establishment of Israel, that's simply not true. Search "Massacres of Jews by Muslims before 1948" on Google, you'll find that the establishment of Israel only popularized the conflict between the Jews and the Muslims that began way before, all the way back to the 7th century, which is when Mohammed's followers massacred Jewish tribes in Arabia, by the way.
      Also, did you know that the amount of Jewish refugees from Arab states is twice the size as the amount of Palestinian refugees? And almost nobody knows this? Antisemitism at it's finest. Unlike Palestinian refugees, they fled not war, rather systematic persecution. Israel, where some 50 percent of the Jewish population descend from these refugees and are now full citizens, is the legitimate expression of the self-determination of an oppressed indigenous, Middle Eastern people.
      You still didn't answer my request (not that you have to), what would you have said instead of the people in the video?

    I've been to Israel. At the airport they asked me why I'm there (I look Arab to some, but I'm actually hispanic). When I told them I was visiting the Holy land on a pilgrimage the Israeli girl grilled me about exactly where I was visiting. I told her THE CHRISTIAN HOLY LAND! She became very irritated by this and stepped aside and talked to her supervisor but eventually let me through (maybe because the priest I was with intruded).
    This video just shows that most Israeli Jews are either not religious at all (lack faith) or are afraid to speak bad of a man who is potentially (to them) the promised messiah. If you ask them what they think about Islam it would be an entirely different reaction.

      IllBeYour Huckleberry The fact that all life is made up of DNA code, that is billions of letters long, screams intelligence to me. We are talking all the way down to single celled organisms. How someone can come to the conclusion that this came about without some kind of intelligence behind it, baffles me. Science is pointing towards a creator, plain and simple. My once evolutionary leaning friend (by evolutionary I mean the origin of life in a completely naturalistic sense according to evolutionary theory) was very confident in his worldview, until these past few years. Now, thanks to recent discoveries (such as the cracking of the human genome), he has completely flipped his once confident world view to that of the existence of a creator, why? Because the basis of naturalistic evolutionary theory is that life started out simple, then slowly began to become complex, to out compete the competition, to survive. The cell is simplest form of life, and the building blocks of larger organisms. The cell is incredibly complex! Just look it up for yourself if you don't already know! The cell has DNA code that is billions of letters long! And that's just the DNA, not to mention the complex factories inside the cell that allow it to take in energy, perform mitosis etc. Life, even down to the single cell, is unbelievably complex, and for chemicals in a primordial soup to somehow through chance develop what we call life, with all it's vast complexity, is irrational, to say the least. This is how I see it at least. Just wanted to add to your insightful comment with my own :)

      Oh my God, again crucify Jesus . For two thousand years you murdered millions of Jews for the death of one man. That he was sentenced to death by a Roman Governor , escapes you, but even that not important , even if jews in the square in Jerusalem
      wanted his death, were all jews in Judea wanted it ,you treated jews born for hundreds of generations after were still persecuted burned at stake , and then Holocaust- creation of Christian Germans .
      And you still make us a villain .
      No matter that Popes on a number of occasions asked the Jews for forgiveness for all the persecution and brain washing against them .
      How pathetic .

      First Christians were Jews, you are very wrong to say that they Jews wanted, fellow Jew to be crucified by the Romans , who conquered them , and who made the life of people impossible with the heavy taxes , and punishments , like you did with the people you colonised
      Crucifixion was Roman way of execution. After the Jewish revolt 3000 thousands Jews were crucified all the road was flanked by the crucified Jewish rebels
      Anyway for few hundreds years Jews and Jews who believed in Christ were praying together . Only later was a separation.
      Funny you say they Germans who murdered the Jews were not Christian’s. Were the churches closed in Germany ? Hitler won an election .
      People who voted for him went to church , plus all the Germans were given Christian upbringing , suddenly they became pagan ? No, Holocaust is your invention , pope John Paul wrote, that church antisemitism is at fault , and the church is guilty in persecution of the Jews for thousands of years , because of anti Jewish sermons cursing the Jews from the pulpit, he acknowledged that the Holocaust is
      the result of that hatred , the same as during the Middle Ages when the Christian’s murdered the Jews , burned thousands of them in Spain and Portugal.
      Taking all that into account , and knowing that all those people most probably had relatives murdered in Europe by Christians , I just Marvell how kind and fair those people are , you could say that in their forgiveness they are better Christian’s than Christian’s eve were .
      Persecuted Jews generations of Jews , for some hearsay .

      The whole existence of mankind is not a necessity hahah let alone speak about Judaism being fist which is part of wishful thinking.
      Allah reminds us He will exchange the heavens and earth for others (this physical world is not a natural necessity)
      That means the physical world will be unlike this in the future and that this one is not a necessity. There goes nationalism yet it is a sign showing the insignificance of this world to Allah
      perhaps Judaism is the first religion if one believes that the world is 6000 to 10 000 years old . Islam teaches otherwise and the place of mankind arriving late and reminds us that the Creator did send messengers to All nations . He does not punish a group of people without sending a reminder.

    I noticed in this and the other videos about Christianity that while regular Israelis are pretty cool about it, the religious ones and the rabbis usually get really defensive and just refuse to talk about it.

    The more I study history, the more I realize that most of the conflicts and problems in our world are due to ignorance. Let's take Jesus for example. The average Israeli sees him as some foreign catholic figure with blond hair and blue eyes that started some strange religion called Christianity. What is the historic reality? First his name was not Jesus or Yeshu. It was Yeshua, which is similar to Joshua son of Nun who lead the Jewish people into Israel. His mother's name was not Mary or Mariah, it was Meriam! His father's was was Yosef. His father was from the tribe of Judah and from the lineage of King David. He was born in Bethlehem, Judea. We was circumcised when he was 8 days old and followed the Jewish laws and customs. He didn't come to start a new religion. Rather he came to fulfill the Hebrew scriptures, reveal himself as the Messiah, offer himself as a Passover sacrifice for the iniquities of Israel and the nations and bring all people to the knowledge of the God of Israel. Because of him, millions of people around the world read the Hebrew scriptures and come to visit the Holy Land. Those who prosecute Jews in his name are just as ignorant because they are attacking his own brothers and sisters, the Jewish people. If people only read and studied history. How many Israelis read the New Testament? Not many, because the religious leaders made it taboo and claim it's anti-Semitic even though it was written by 1st century Jews. If we only got to the true source of the information instead of believing superstitious tales we would understand each other better and would be united instead of divided.

    I don't blame most of the people being asked for looking so blank. What a pointless question.
    What is it those asking the question actually want? Reassurance that other people think they're "right"? If their beliefs nourish them, and they have a healthy relationship with G-d, that should be all they need.
