Hey Van, I-20 E, about 10 Miles east of Columbia, Exit 87, Elgin SC, left from the ramp, 1/2 mile turn right into Haigs Creek, 7th house on the right. I really enjoyed living there until the cost of living got out of control. Crime was slowly getting worse as well. That is why we ended up coming here a few years earlier than planned. @@radleysmith7528 considering a small shop/storage building near the back gate, but that will be some time after the wall fence us completed, if I decide to do it. Could be a consultant, but Thais don't like listening to the Farangs.
Indeed, I planted a row of "Wodyetia bifurcata" palms 20 years back @ issan house, aesthetically striking perfect ornamental and accompaniment for lower stand alone infill plantings
Golden cane palms get very big eventually and are constantly shedding dead leaves...a real pain in the arse. The foxtails seems to hold there leaves better. Watch out for any that have lots of seeds as they attract rats and hence snakes. Raphis (Lady) palms are slow growing but very beautiful,however they eventually start to take over the garden and are hard to dig out.😮
@@ParadiseNThailand believe the ones that you called yellow palms would be Golden Canes...in Australia they drop dead leaves constantly and are a real pain, but maybe like frangipani here in Thailand they might hold their leaves longer. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dypsis_lutescens
@@1960tiffany the one I have had since February has not dropped anything, but maybe not mature yet. They will be in pots for at least a year or more so if they become a problem I can dispose of them if needed. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be watching now.
@@ParadiseNThailand I believe Ken&Som have purchased "Wodyetia bifurcata" (plenty of data available online) young plant fronds are a little looser looking than the eventual matured Tree. The yellowing seen on these young plants likely just water stress & nutrient deficiency rather than a different genus easily corrected with appropriate fertiliser plan (advised) and H20 irrigation system (alluded proposed by Kenny in a previous upload) to maintain strong growth going forward. The eventual fruits are conceded toxic to humans & animals (fish unknown) so a trade off in terms of produce versus aesthetic value. Great choice guys so regal looking when established

Both are striking compact ornamentals of similar relative low maintenance value requiring little pruning offering differing matured heights and shape. One reason to consider would be its fruits are edible.
